I paid 50 bucks for skyrim. Lets just say, the fun i had until yesterday was worth it, but now steam isnt updating, i cant connect at all and cant play in so-called offline mode either, because to make that change i would need to be online in the first place.

I feel betrayed by Bethesda. I paid good money. I played Fallout and Oblivion almost exclusively the last 4 or so years. To bad. They won't see any money from me anymore. Hey, that might be good chance, to get a life i guess :)

I recently got Metro 2033. I put in the disc, and pressed install. It then started up my steam (I practically never uses it) and HAD to install from Steam. So I entered my CD-key, and Steam said it should update the game. That's nice, I figured. it then downloaded the whole game instead of replacing a couple of files. and now it won't run, thanks to it being completely made for nVidia, and I use AMD Radeon graphics -.-

I bought the Steam version of portal 2. On 11 machines it fails to install.

Steam froum admnins tried to blame the shop I bought it from. It seems Steam has jammed itself right in the middle playing with activation codes with disc installs so you to get game titles through their client. Every byte served could apply a fee to the game producer.

They blame the other distributors so you get a refund and DL it off their servers, cutting every other licenced distribution method out of the loop.

2) TF2 FINALLY started to update

3) I left the PC

The launcher is adobe you know :D if the adobe or the adobe air is not install it freeze. mm i think i found your little bug. Dont forget to shut down any fire walls and antivirus. Why because it steam work without that thats your problem. Also some routers can block incoming date from steam because steam is like x-fire hart beathing system. google it.

Also, all my firewalls allow Steam to go through, and Norton expired so I don't have a anti-virus now. This happened a couple of days ago, when everything was working fine. My friend told me Steam was doing something. I guess not. Anyway, I'll try updating Adobe.

@DrunkUjurak how about this one. Close steam, which you might have to do with Control-Alt-Delete if the program has frozen. Go to where you installed steam (should look something like C:\Games\Steam) and delete the file called ClientRegistry.blob. Restart steam and it will update.

Deleting this file is a universal fix for most steam problems :P

so try this one. Or you have already done that
