Helgie is a business partner with Wizard Lake Outfitting, together we own tags in the zone NE of Athabasca where he shot this deer. Wizard Lake Outfitting does not only do bowzone hunts, we also offer rifle whitetail hunts in bowzone bordering units, Whitetail and Moose hunts near Athabasca (where Helgie shot this buck), and Black Bear hunts in the far northern central reaches of Alberta.

Hi, was Helgie buck taken northeast of Athabasca (town)? And what is your opinion of why Wizard Lake Outfitters is claiming it, does Helgie work with them? If it's NE of Athabasca as rumor has it, that's pretty far from the BowZone. I'll probably never hunt in Canada, but I like to look at where big bucks come from. Thanks for your thoughts. David

This deer has nothing to do with Wizard Lake outfitters. Trying to steal publicity. Its not Ryan Kohlers deer. Wizard lake outfitters hunt in the Edmonton bow zone. If you want to bow hunt they will guide you. This deer was shot in the county of Athabasca. Close to my land. Fucking awsome Helgie. The credit is all yours. Canadian whitetails kick ass!!!

I think its good to point out that this is a 100% free ranging wild deer. It is not a farmed buck. Awesome animal Helgie!!! I would hope to get one even half that size!!!!
