Please Google, WB, EMI, or any music corporation do not remove this video. It's so awesome, puts me in a good mood when I hear it remembering the good times of the 80s and super early 90s.
I just realized- I've been mishearing the line "Throw off your mental chains" as "Grow up, you're meant to change" for going on almost thirty years now.
@dr23rdbuchanmd I am under the age of 25, but I wasn't brought here because of a tv show or movie. I just adore the 80s music. Oh and after all, Howard Jones was born in my home town, Southampton!
The video is 'mazin! 1) Like the old guy in the Rolls, you think he's THE MAN come to subjugate Howard and the girls in the pickle factory, and it turns out he's just the cleaner! Mind blowin'! 2) He runs down the stairs playing a synth solo on his shoulder Moog! 3) He comes into class where some old fool teacher is boring the kidz, and everyone starts bopping, even the old fool! Then like school is out forever!
1:11 Heh heh Gary Numan's like "Sod off!" Yeah, I know it's not him, but I've always found it to be funny to have some guy come up to me and start singing!
thank you mr J,,, best tunes, melodies, lyrics,,,,every time i hear ur songs i transport back to my teens,,,AAAH !!!! school disco's and Merrydown Cider... ALL haill the Juno 6 Synth
Outstanding song. One of the best keyboard solos ever! Howard Jones helped make the 80s music awesome. I can remember when this song first hit the airwaves. Back in 2000-2003 we used to go clubbing at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minneasota. The top floor used to be a bunch of clubs and one of them was "Flashbaxx".....I used to request this song. Where did all the good music go??
I just love this song so very much. It makes me so happy every time I hear it. Indeed, songs like this only were around in the 80's. Nothing like this around anymore. Love the keyboard solo by Howard. Howard was a very talented musician. One of the more underrated artists of the 80's.
Listening to this on a good sound system in a bar is marvelous. beautiful synth sounds and drum machines. It's the pinnacle of pop from that era. It sounded so happy even for the eighties. Say what you like, but a lot of good melodic music came out of that decade.
80's classic. Some of the best music was in the 80's. Sadly it gone forever, its great that you can still find stuff like this on You Tube. Thankyou You tube !
