  • I don't mind when you say that you're going away

I just don't wanna be lonely,

And I don't care if you share only moments a day,

I just don't wanna be lonely,

I'd rather be loved and needed; depended on to give a love I can't give

  • No reason.

  • RONNIE, THANKS FOR HAVING THIS INCREDIBLE PIECE OF MUSIC PLAY A PART IN ME MEETING ANNICE MORRIS. THE DAUGHTER OF A FRIEND OF MINE, RAY MORRIS R.I.P., A FABULOUS FIRST TENOR WHO SANG WITH THE "BROADWAYS" ( BILLY BROWN SANG LEAD ) ON THEIR HIT SONG,

"GOING, GOING GONE" BEFORE JOINING "THE MOMENTS". PEACE, RAY

  • @homethoughts1 The funny thing is that I played Just Don't Want To Be lonely so many times when I was in the Main Ingredient Band. However, Ronnie never sang it when I worked for him. In fact I never heard it until you put it on you tube. Thanks!

  • Ronnie is great great great...

  • still a beautiful song and wonderfully done by a singer with a tremendous voice.

  • beautiful...lyrical tenor...RIP, Ronnie...wow!

  • love this song...one of my favorites...I love Ronnie's voice...so pure . I miss you Ronnie.

  • I forgot that Ronnie had covered this also. Haven't heard his version in awhile. Thanks for posting it. Another group that covered this as well was Bloodstone.

I do believe out all the versions, Main Ingredient is the original. Am I correct?

    Please let me know

  • Actually, Ronnie Dyson did this one one year before the Main Ingredient. By the way, the lead vocalist for the Main Ingredient on this song was a really great tenor named, Donald McPherson; who died very young. his place was taken by Cuba Gooding Sr.

    Toe

  • @Goldenoldies4ever I played piano for Ronnie and the Main Ingredient. The Main Ingredient did this song every show because it was one of their main hits. I didn't even know that other people recorded it.

  • didn't the main ingredient also do a verson of this song? I saw blue magic open for aretha at radio city, they did this and side show.

  • Indeed they did i have it & i also have a excellent version by Freddie McGregor if anyone remembers that !

  • unfortunately i don't have the blue magic version but i think this already the blue magic version

  • ...i just don't wanna be lonely..09202305090.

  • Ronnie definitely did it the best! Thanks for posting.

  • Yes! I strongly agree with you MrTrashcan1. Ronnie did it great more than anyone else because I can truly feel the song. I love it.

  • That looks like a place I visited in Mexico, I think it was called Taloum or something like that.

  • ronnie's voice is smooth a great underated singer

  • I agree totally with you Valentine`s day and this song...

  • preciosa

  • Love this song. Wish I could turn back time.

  • Indeed! the 70's, i was still in hihg school then performing with the band in the philippines...best time of my life!

  • Oooo, you've said a mouthful! This song takes me right back!

  • THE BEST VERSION..makes me SHIVER

  • Yeah, I`ve listened to others and this is the best one,, I guess

  • Thanks for posting this....

But I love your description: "Just Don't Wanna be Lonely and vacation photos." HAHAHAHAHAHA!! It reminds me of a sign I once saw on a store: Sam's Video and Muffin Store. Talk about incongruity!

  • One of the great voices in music. Ronnie set the standard for the next two generations of tenors. So underrated. Treat yourself and listen to all of his songs on this site----->

  • Man, you are sooooooo right. Listen how smooth his tenor is. I've always loved Ronnie Dyson's vocals. He, like so many others, died way too soon.

  • Amen!!! seriously great pop tenor. He was one of my earlist inspirations...got me interested in wanting to sing...and wanting to sing like him. Great, great talent.

  • I love this song

  • just as good as main ingredents go ron

  • Nice voice.Good photos.deejaygrl

  • oh my gosh.,.

i didnt know that ronnie is already gone.,. ive been listening to this song since last month everynight.,.,

    the song is very nice.,.!!!

and also the voice of ronnie

  • quite a voice; quite a delivery; silky smooth. he does a great, great job on this song. slightly different but every bit as good as the main ingredient's version.

  • Your description of this marvelous song is great and complete.

  • this song...no matter who sings it ..it makes me cry..i love you amer

  • Its natural talent. Sometimes, it seems that the brightest candle, deminish too soon.

  • sadly he died almost 18 ago

  • i mean 18 years ago

  • Beautiful voice. Pitch is wonderful.

  • I like this by Ronnie and Dee Dee Sharp...

  • such a smooth true vocal.. what happened to him?

  • I wish Ronnie would have done more sessions with Thom Bell!!! This song is great but One Man Band will always be my favorite.

  • YEP we all agree. Ronnie was a great singer

  • I love this song. Yes Ronnie was a great singer

  • I remember this song from better times. I love it and When You Get Right Down To It and One Man Band

  • When you get right down to it;its a CLASSIC Song Sung by someone who left us too soon.

  • I'm glad someone finally posted this one. I had it on a 45 when I was growing up and played it all time. I still prefer this version to the Main Ingredient's

  • I like this one better too. Then Blue Magics' then The Main Ingredients! I like them all tho!

  • It's great but I like the Main Ingridient's better.

  • Such an underrated singer...beautiful voice. Brings back memories of being a preteen my parents played this song over and over.

  • A truly great song, good versions from Main Ingredient, Blue Magic and Freddie Mcgregor. But Ronnie Dyson's is the definitive version

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this song!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this--you saved me the trouble. :) I much prefer Ronnie's pretty version to the Main Ingredient's, and it's the one many "softer" stations played back in the day.

  • i agree with you. This version is by far the better one.

  • I think on the CD liner notes, it says that THIS is the original version, but that since they were on the same label, but for some reason, Ronnie's version was released later.

DAMN Ronnie was a GREAT singer.

  • Cuba Gooding Sr.'s vocals on the Main Ingredient's hit version do hit the spot, but you know what, there IS not "best" version, and that's a testament to good songwriting!

  • ronnie's voice is smooth a great underated singer
