The only thing that makes a drummer bad is wrong timing. What sounds bad to you doesn't neccessarily mean; 1) it is bad. 2) that other people find it bad. and 3) that the actual drummer was trying to make it sound good. It's all about positive speaking, if the drummer says that was shit people believe it; if they say it was good people believe that too. I do not think joey is bad, but he is not perfect either. a bad drummer gets off time a lot and he has almost perfect timeing.
all thoose people complaining about that for example Lars Ulrich is a bad drummer, he is a good drummer in his genre of music! Joey is an incredible good drummer for slipknot and their music, there is alot of good drummers out there. I'm myself a very big Slipknot and Metallica fan, and i dont think Lars is a bad drummer at all! \m/

To be honest there isnt really a "best drummer". one drummer could make a song and the other could learn it with some practice and vice versa. there is definitly fastest though.

Maybe Joey is playing is boring stuff cuz he is not cocky or doesn't want to play anything too crazy. And Adler is kinda the same thing... his patterns are always very similar but he is the fucking tightest drummer ever! His drumming sounds like a machine on some songs. I live in a town with 14,000 people in it and I know people here that are as good if not better than Joey. Slipknot's acoustic shit kills their heavy stuff. Good drummer but EXTREMELY OVERRATED. I mean there are alot of other types of drummers out there like Randy Castillo, Shawn Drover, Nick Menza, Gar Samuealson, Mikkey Dee, and Vinnie Paul. Don't get me wrong Joeys amazing but he isn't the best

@TheMoxySpot Mate, I'm not 12 and I have a taste in music. Joey is the most over-rated drummer of our time. I live in a town with 14,000 people in it and I know people here that are as good if not better than Joey. Slipknot's acoustic shit kills their heavy stuff. Stupid 13 year old think they're so hardcore because it's the only metal they've listened to. It pisses me right off because they get so much praise even though there are so many more metal bands out there who are superior to Slipknot.

BTW do a search for "Terry Bozzio Clinic December 15th 2007 " it's a sick solo that shows dynamic range AND musicality. Something I'm not seeing in this video. Don't know if you're a drummer, but you'll love it if you are.

@dylarmania Much respect for you man! Terry is one of my favourite drummers, it's a shame KoRn have turned to shit. They've past their prime. But that solo is great! You can never beat Mike Portnoy though, such a good drummer and so humble. It's just a shame he left Dream Theatre for Avenged Sevenfold. Such a waste of talent!
