  • that was pretty darn good...michael h lives on :)

  • nice one! what's the tuning for it?

  • @savagenorks Tuning is ABEF#AD. The tunings for almost all of Michael's recorded compositions can be found on John Stropes' website. The transcription for "Hot Type" can be found there as well if you're interested.

  • Hot Damb, You nailed that one! Nice. One of my favorite Hedges tunes.

  • This IS GREAT ANDY !!!!

    YOu are great .... !

Maybe next time youll have the dazzo pickup on !

  • Just so you know, I am legally blind, been playing guitar since 1970. I LOVE obscure music ... Kottke is one of my favorites! But when it comes to Hedges you have pretty much nailed it! I REALLY enjoyed hearing you play "Hot Type"! I don't know of anyone else that would attempt to pull this off ... but you did it EXCELLENTLY!

  • Great playing, Andy! Whew!

  • AWESOME cover dude. I was thinking though, is this really a claw hammer technique? I've been watching this student and Michael play this ALOT and it really just looks like regular fingerpick, just without the pointer finger. What does everyone think?

  • @MrTaylorN

Hi MrTaylorN. You are correct, it is similar to clawhammer. The major difference is Michael Hedges also used his pinky to pluck upward. I'd encourage you to read John Stropes' article on this technique. There is nobody more qualified to speak on Hedges' technique than John.

  • wow you students at the UWM are awesome :D

    regards gabriel

  • Dude, you're such a freak.

  • wow!
