  • @Cartoonsoldier83 I'm happy to see you are doing fine. This is why I like going online to network with others with a VP Shunt. it gives hope to all the little ones going through what we have to. Many blessings to you and I hope you have many many years to go with fewer surgeries. :)

I have many questions id like to ask, however, lol, I cant think of what they were. when i remember ill whack it down. hope your goin well hun.

  • alright :) I'm happy to see (read) you are doing fine. Yeah I was dropped for missing a couple days ad couldn't make it up in time for the mid term so I'm taking the class over again during the summer. But since that happened, now I'm taking a class/job training for medical coding. So all is good and i hope all is well for you. Thanks for your reply! :)

  • Heey

Im 17 and have hydrocephalus, i have a shunt. Ive had numerous VP shunts throughout my life until 2 weeks ago, ive now got a VA shunt, which goes inot my heart instead of my abdomen.

I always wondered aboutpregnancy with a catheter in the belly. Ive raised this question before and apparently there is no cause for concern =) Theres extra tubing in your belly for that type of growth, also the tubing rests into your peritoneum so it wont get in the way.

Goodluck in your recovery =) xo

  • oh wow! thank you for your reply! :) I've never heard of the VA shunt. May I ask how it feels to have a VA shunt? sorry, just curious.

  • well ive had it now, what, 3 weeks?

&& well since ive had it, ive had some discomfort in my heart. Ive never experienced any pain in my heart before and didnt even know where abouts my heart was until i started getting this sensation. Whether this is normal, im not sure, so i cant speak on behalf everybody with a VA. =) hope youre doing well

  • I hope that pain goes away! :( yeah up until now, I cant really sleep on the right side of my head because it feels like I'm putting a lot of pressure on it when I'm not. I really hope that your pain goes away hun. I can't imagine how it feels. X(

  • Professor? You're in university? That rocks. I'm 41, was shunted when I was 4 months old. I don't have the memory capacity for further education past high school which was a real struggle. To you or anyone else who can succeed like you did - you're really to be commended. I wish you happiness and health.

    Love, Sean
