  • Hi, do you know hows Bellona doing in wild again? iam really curios about her :)

  • @dubinek88 There's no way of knowing, we were hoping to set up camera traps in the area but just didn't have time and Bellona is probably in a totally different area now, I hope she'd doing well and enjoying life back out in the wild where she belongs :)

  • So is Bellona released now? if not how is she doing? :3

  • @AkiranoYoru49 Yes, she was released in March 2011 :)

  • So did you give her an entirely new leg? Did you make sure that the rats don't carry diseases?

  • @catholicgamer99 No we repaired her existing leg, but a lot of metal plates/screws etc... were used. Yes all the rats are supplied by approved companies.

  • @BigCatRescue Is that why she doesn't have any fur on her leg anymore?

  • @catholicgamer99 Yes, that footage was shot before the fur grew back in :)

  • I love how you guys elp these big cat my fav youtube channel

  • Bellona was released yesterday 3/21/11!!!

Check out BCR's video of her release!!! :D

  • so she's still not released yet??

  • @cpydiana No, hopefully spring 2011, all going well! :)

  • @BigCatRescue then i'll be waiting for that release video!!!

  • Is Bellona still under your care? How is she doing?

  • @mal8881 Yes, she is and she's doing well, we are going to be making an update video in the future hopefully she will be releasable next year :)

  • she seemed to be a very active cat but noticed a few times she limps somewhat .... did the recent surgery corrected that ??

  • @BoxedPaperTv Yes, the recent surgery a few weeks ago was performed to correct the limping, hopefully this is the last and she will recover enough to be released :)

  • awesome ,,you guys are great

  • About the feeding and not getting accustomed to humans... doesn't rats smell like human to some point and thus she gets used to the smell of human? I mean... you keep the rats in human buildings which soak with human smell, you touch them giving your smell to their fur. Won't she get used to that smell? I know that animal moms use to reject their cubs when they have been touched by humans and have human smell. Doesn't that happen with food as well?

  • @ZirLeopard No our scent just form picking up a rat by the tail for a few seconds isn't enoughfor the bobcats to associate people with their "prey" etc...

  • I noticed there's no new updates on Bellona. How is she doing? Will she be ready to release soon?

  • @samiuseliina She actually had to go in for another surgery her leg wasn't healing properly, a slow recovery ahead but hopefully this will be the last of her surgeries, we'll update in the future, keep watching :)

  • she is indeed, again, I love all your videos!! Wish so much I could do something like this.

  • hope she recovers well and is able to be released if she has not already such a beautiful bobcat

  • So Bellona survived the car crashed? No wonder people keep saying cats have 9 lives.

  • the ass ^.^ nice cut!

  • Love to see Bellona climbing - all that muscle, just coiled and ready to go. Many purrs from us to you - get stronger and heal quickly, Ms. Bobcat.

  • I am so thankful there is a place now for Bellona May she have many more yrs. of happiness with the great new family she has.She is looking great.

  • She is beautiful! I would love to work with the wild cats! But I live in NJ! Keep up the good work! I know the cats appreciate it!

  • We will, thanks for your support :)

  • all those trillions that get pissed away on fake wars perhaps instead of begging us for money the criminals that run washington dc they should donate a large sum to places like BIG CAT RESCUE. I cannot wait to come there and spend the night with my children!!!!!

  • You do amazing work, I wish I lived in Florida so I could volunteer for you. :)

  • What a Good Samaritan that bus driver is! She's a hero....and so is BCR!!! Good to see Bellona tearing around like a maniac!

  • good job guys shes beautiful

  • Even after such surgery, Bellona zips around w full strength - good for her! W those outstanding instincts in gear, I am sure she will be fully ready for her normal wild state.

  • That's really cool to see how you rehabilitate the cats! Thank you very much for all your work!

  • Very nice to help a wonderful cat.

  • Awesome! Glad to see Bellona is recovering nicely.

  • Lol! She remember's me of my own cat who got hit by a car too! She got an operation and survived, she got shaved the same spot. vetnerian said they removed a broke bone or something and her muscles would replace the leg movement. I was very happy she could walk and run again. :D

  • Your ideas are so good! I love you guys

  • are bobcats about the same size as leopards and jaguars?

  • amazing [:

  • GOD BLESS YOU

  • Fantastic. you all are awesome!

  • gorgeous bobcat, seems young and you can't really tell that she has had surgery by the way that she moves, I hope she recovers :)

  • AMAZING job! :)

  • Way to go BCR, thanks for what you do :)

  • BigCatRescue you have done it again. Save a life that is. Bellona looks to be recovering really quickly and she will be all healed in no time if all goes well.

Do you have like an Australian number or something because i tried texting Tiger to 20222 but alas nothing happened. And being a 16 y/o Aspiring Zoologist in the Study of Felines. I really would like to help. but as i stated my age sort of prevents mail transactions or anything.

  • Thanks for the support, we do our best! There are other ways you can donate if you visit our website BigCatRescue*org and find the donation page :) THANK YOU!

  • God bless you guys! Without many of these beautiful animals would be lost forever!

  • you guys are doing an amazing job i just love big cats, i hope she gets recovers fully soon shes a beautiful bobcat :)

  • She is beautiful! Hope her recovery goes well!

  • Great to see she's doing better. Keep up the good work guys!

  • Yay Bellona get better soon XD

  • Congrats BCR !!! Amazing job !!!

  • When I said I couldn't handle the rats, I mean it literally. It would gross me out to touch a rat.

Besides, don't they try to bite you when you pick them up.

I've never even touched a mouse. My mom used to scream at the top of her lungs if she even SAW one. She carried on so bad, she scared the mouse.

It would scurry out of sight, making it harder for my dad to find.

  • I wish I could climb vertical walls 20mph with a broken leg!

Anyway, I hope you post a video of her hunting. My (disturbed) cat used to throw rats several feet in the air and catch them with her mouth and sometimes her paws. I think she was showing off lol

  • We will definitely keep everyone updated on Bellona's progress :) Thanks for watching!

  • good to see that she's recovering!

  • Another success story! Congrats BCR!

  • Great job!

  • Wow, y'all got it all together! Keep up the great work!

  • Congrats to Bellona!

You guys interested in a house cat that thinks she's a big cat? Mine's been reeeeaaaaaaally trying the the patience of everyone in the house the last two weeks. I think my dog is plotting a way to rub her out without the blame being put on him. I think locking her up in a big cage with a tiger or lion may very well put her in her place :P

  • God bless you guys!! I hope Bellona has a speedy recovery back into the wild ;)

  • BCR is the best!~ i'm happy Bellona survived the car accident. 3 cheers to Scott and BCR! Hip hip! hooray! Hip hip! Hooray! Hip hip! Hoorayyyyyyyyyyy!~ XD

  • I second that. BCR is the best!!

  • The amount of wild intensity in that animal is very heartening, you must be very happy to see that.

  • WE are, fingers crossed that her leg will heal completely so she can be released, we will keep you updated :)

  • I'm so happy she's doing better. I love how she can easily climb and be alert despite her injury.

I can't wait till her fur grows back. I think that the live animal tubes are a genius idea. I think that is totally effective for her to get back into the wild.

  • I'm glad she is doing great =) Now I know some people would claim that feeding live pray is cruel... but it's for the benefit of the cat, not for the sick entertainment if people who "pay to play". If you look up Chinese zoos (don't remember how) but some zoos have a sick pay to play program with their big cats. Pay 1 euro throw in a live chicken for the cats to tear apart, pay 5 euros and watch the tigers kill a live cow literally dropped in... What you do is ethical, and just.

  • Thanks for seeing it that way you are 100% right, we do this for the benefit of the cat and the ecosystem, we need fare more bobcats out there than rats!

  • That is AWESOME! So glad she is doing so well. :) Great job!!

  • i want to give money but only 12, is there anything else i can do?

  • BEAUTIFUL BOBCAT. :D I love you guys. If I ever get rich, I'm definately sending money to you. Or have a sponsored event...or SOMETHING. What you do is so important.

  • Sounds good to us!! :)

  • Great job, guys. Today I've done a donation to Big Cat Rescue - really well deserved.

  • Thanks for the support!

  • nice name bellona.. aww i feel bad but i am gald that she is ok.. I had bobcat for 12 years before died.. she is very active cat but she loved my old dog. they were best friend.. i thought it is not possibel friend with dog but i think trust is big key for bobcat..

  • @hummerwayo YOU KEPT A BIG CAT IN CAPTIVITY??!? ISNT THAT WAT THIS ORGANIZATION IS ALL ABOUT??

  • A bobcat isn't anywhere near a "big cat" but it IS still a wild animal.

  • well she was baby cub. My family and I found her in our barn without mom.. she wont left barn for weeks.. so she used with our animals.. so she like to sleep in our office at barn so i try to free her but she come back to us next day in 5 miles radius.. i think she is scare of big trucks.. so but we decide to keep her in office and barn until she died. so

  • @hummerwayo ahhhh, she was lucky not to have been hit, that must be one loyal animal to find you in a 5 mile radius, but if you do become inequipped to take care of it remember there are places that are able to. ;)

  • Great job! It is wonderful to see that she can jump and climb. It is also obvious that they aren't used to a small area by the way the paths are worn. I am so glad that Bellona's outlook is not so grim. Thank you!

  • Hello, I really want to help Big Cat Rescue but I am in Europe. Is there a number I can text to in Europe and make a donation? I really respect the amount of effort and the love you put in those animals.

  • Thanks for the offer of support, there isn't a number you can text but if you visit our website BigCatRescue*org and find the donation page, all the other options are listed there - THANK YOU!

  • Bellona is a beauty =]

  • Thanks, we will :)

  • she has a cute name

  • great message. you guys are just inspiring. the world thanks you

  • what a great set up! beautiful cat.

  • bellona good luck.

you did an amazing job, today i recieved a message from wwf that hthe tiger population is reducing, it remembers me how unrespectful humans are

  • Good Luck to Bellona and congrats to big cat rescue on winning 25k from the chase community giving. I know it wasn't the million but every little bit helps ^^.

  • Thank you and thanks for voting, you're right we might not have came out with the million dollars but 25k is great for us and will help feed lots of cats!

  • At first I was thinking them rats could escape the cage easily then I noticed the smaller wire.

  • Glad to see this update on the bobcat.

  • Hey Bellona!! Im glad to see you're recovering so well...hope to see in the wild pretty soon.

  • Who's gonna put the rats in the tunnels?

I sure wouldn't wanna be the one to do it.

I can handle being a paramedic and seeing all types of injuries.

I can't handle touching live rats.

Mice are different. Ever since I watched 'The Tale of Despereaux' I've been more comfortable with the idea of mice.

  • That job falls to BCR staff members, sorry rats, but we definitely need more bobcats out in the wild!

  • Amazing indeed! Well done!

  • Glad she's doing well :)

  • yeah im so happy shes ok!!

  • totally amazing, great job..best wishes for bella,

  • Great work!

  • Yay Bellona!!

  • I love how you guys don't just keep the rescued big cats, but you also help animals that just need some time to "re-learn" to hunt and then release them in to the wild.

  • Thanks, we do what we can :)

  • I thought she was relased directly to wild?

  • You might be thinking of Hope our previous rehab bobcat, she was released? Bellona still as a while to go yet.

  • @BigCatRescue Yeah, i messed up... Good job you're doing, those bobcats are really lucky to have your support!

  • So how is Hope doing? I think I remember you said you guys track the cats you release.

  • Aww that's great, Glad to see some updates on your work :)

  • yei a nother wid yeee
