What I mean to say is, be wary, I am not outright decrying it.
Many things that are said in the videos on the site can be looked at on very similar terms as to what scientology promises and preaches (however less ridiculous sounding as kabbalah has ties into a Platonic Realm idea instead of spaceships).
its more fun to have ego's and go around killing each other,i'm sure the universe, another word for you.or I or God if you like, the void, the part doing us,we are all THAT,so when we blow up this planet we grew out of,don't worry.! life will grow out somewhere else in the cosmos, you again.and that will be you coming into being again..so say hello to you,God.
The duality of man and nature. It is difficult to understand because even though we are physically a part of nature, our society teaches us that we exist apart from it. Instead of getting food from the forest, we get it at a supermarket. Our society teaches us that money = food/shelter/survival, when the truth is that our survival is dependent on nature/plants/air/earth/sun. The disconnect from nature is in the hive mind of civilization. This is why we are now facing global enviro-destruction.
@creosotegirl lol nature is a pendulum, enviro-destruction as you call it is merely the pendulum shifting one way, it will swing back, that is the truth of nature. There is no balance, just a change of extremes.
Animals are in sink with nature, a good example of that was the tsunami a couple years ago where over 200 000 people died and not one reported case of an animal dieing(because they have the sense). Humanity is disconnected and also has been given greater power(the frontal lobe)...and with greater power comes great responsibility. Unfortunately we still live in the King & Queen mentality. This economy crisis could be solved in one day.
... I see how you were trying to sound philosophical there... but how exactly is cancer egoism? Plus, egoism isn't really cancer, it's more like being a carrier of, say, Hepatitis C, or some similar disease, in that we, in our complete ignorance, repeatedly rape nature with no regard to the poisons we are spreading throughout it. (A bit of a crude comparison, but realistic.)
You aren't even a "part of a whole", you are the whole and the whole is you. There is not even an 'identity'. You are merely a temporary aggregation of consciousness and body that is ever-becoming.
... I disagree. Your identity is the constant change which makes you, you. We are individuals, and thus, not individually the "whole". The ethereal "whole" is simply the orchestra of our lives interconnecting and reacting. No matter how temporary our consciousness may be, we can still impact each other's lives, and the universe as a whole; and no matter how ever-becoming a body we may have, it is in the becoming that |YOU| are found.
Realize your smallness, realize you're but a wave of the grand ocean of consciousness. When a wave considers himself an ocean apart, he fears to be swallowed by the omnipresent void ;).
Obviously, I realize we are minuscule compared with the universe. But that does not make us a "wave on an ocean". In truth, a more accurate representation would be a fish IN the ocean- one of hundreds of trillions of species' of fish, each of which only has one example of itself in the entire ocean
Everybody seems to like to think that we are all the same; we are not. We make different impacts on the world, but we all make an impact. The "ocean" is endless- and we, the perpetual pioneers within.
Well, our bodies are but the aggregation of matter that has been here ever since the Big Bang.
And postulating the existence of such a thing as "free will" is also something to be taken sceptically. This is an ancient debate, but for all science can proof, is that there's hardly something as free will, not even a little bit.
I don't see how us being matter has anything to do with us not being individuals. You started out attempting to show we are all the same spiritually; but now, you're just plain saying we're made of the same thing.
I disagree. Science has never made a move to prove that free will does, or does not, exist. Due, most probably, to the fact that free will obviously does exist. We are always- ALWAYS- free to make any choice we desire, even if that choice is impossible (generally regarded as insanity).
Schools of fish? Community grooming in chimps? Any animal that hunts in packs and shares the prey? Humans are certainly the most aware of our own altruism, but it's all over nature.
where altruism in that they all hunt together because if they hunt alone they would not be so effictive. altruism is than you`re doing something good just to do so, not to have something to eat
Still, it's not entirely correct, Militaristic. Swans get together as life partners- this actually creates less spawn, not more. Nature may be selfish when it comes to survival, but in certain species, what could be called love is found. We are not the only of our kind, just the easiest to notice.
In a recent example, what about the dog that tried to help its friend off the highway? That had absolutely nothing to do with survival.
@Militaristic The difference between human and animal is that animals only take what is necessary and instinctively allow it nature to restore. Man however takes more than what is necessary taking from future generations. Whilst nature follows this law with no freedom of choice at all, we have to abide by that law of giving, only taking what is necessary and giving rest to general needs of society, by our own freedom of choice. Or else things will heat up and turn sour.
He's perpetuating a nice but damaging idea that "nature" exhibits only these wonderful qualities, and that man has fallen from its grace. "Nature" is all sorts of crazy, but only from a human point of view, because we're the only species even able to make value judgments in this way. Self-reflective brain/mind = bigger problems, more responsibility, greater freedom = guilt and the desire to repair harm. We are "natural" in all senses, its just that we are nature uniquely self-aware.
I understand that something must change in the world before it breaks. I'm taking the Kabbalah course now, and have so many questions about why I'm here, right now, but everyday I look out at the world I wonder if it's too late. I know it could get worse, but how do we fix it?
We fix it by correcting ourselves. everything in the world or in others that we see as wrong is really what needs correcting in ourselves. and by correcting your small part of the world kli you are correcting that small part in everyone. eventually this will lead to unity, love and altruism. "AVIUT!"
Of course we love ourselves, everything we do is for our own self benefit, to sate our egos. not a single action you do doesn't follow this rule of greatest amount of pleasure for least amount of pain. avoiding conflict, working out, recycling, meditaion etc, even helping others is done because it makes us feel good. now imagine genuinly wanting everything your ego wants for you, but for your friend, or a total stranger. that is what "love thy friend as thy self" is about.
Nature is a powerful glue. Receiving only what IT needs. Nature is harmonious. War is peace. Peace is war. Up is down. What's on the tube tonight? I love mountains of junked computers. There cannot possibly be a better world than oil spills, starving millions, and a destruction of the eainforest. HOORAY for those who turn a blind eye to yang and see only yin! You do not know balance for your jabber is unbalanced as is your mind. No go talk to your sofa like a good little boy or girl.
What??? LMFAO you make no sense. I made no definition of nature, I merely pointed out the negative side of things that the maker of this video ignored. It's yin AND yang, not just yin. So solly cholly.
OK. In all world end scenarios we can think of, Humanity will (must) suffer or even experiencing mass death events, before getting clear message what videos like this one trying to say. And it is to late for most of us. Lucky me - I just got bells ringing in my head.
It's be funnier and more accurate to show that nature is about the survival of the fittest, the stronger eating the weaker, the fact that life depends on death to exist, that nature was born in a huge explosion, that earth is covered with natural disasters, disease, and the occasional planetwide extinction from a cometary or ateroid impact. Nature is violent, murderous, dripping with diseases that we must conquer. Nature is a Mother all right!
Nature is balance. What is it that nature must balance?? the weak, the strong???the disease, the cure???
What is the purpose of Nature and this system we call reality???
What you seem to forget is NATURE IS a BALANCING of what seems good and what seems BAd.
If we only SEE the BAD of NAture and forget the new improvment of Good that comes after , then yes it seems that Nature is Cruel, And yet you wish to be cruel to IT by trying to conquer it???
Man, stop projecting all your mental junk onto me. All I was doing was pointing out the dark side of nature that the person who made this video ignored. Also, too bad that nature is the only reality you seem to know. :-D
I wasn't trying to change your Ideas of "ying and yang". but your quote " more accurate to show that nature is about the survival of the fittest,..." it seemed you had a one sided view that nature itself was made to be cruel. i simply thought to give you a different perspective. And if you can Think about it Everything in reality is NATURE not just trees and animals. so to bad your reality has such a remote perspective. To Each his own.
WAKE UP WORLD NATURE IS NOCKING>>>MAYBE YELLING.... YUM will be listen before NATURE is has to SCREAM. Or maybe it is with all the crisis around the world... the question whats next if we don't listen!????

this kabbalah is very close to scientology if you think of it 'it's not a religon, it is a science.' L. Ron Hubbard said the same thing.

Altruism and love are not principles of nature
nature is all about fighting

Bullshit. Altruism can be seen in many parts of nature.
