@ConfusingGamer well, shinigami and hollow powers were part of his soul and I think he burnt through both when he fought Aizen

remember that he fought both Tensa Zangetsu fused with his Hollow self to learn the final Getsuga Tensho, so his hollows powers must have been involved in that move too.
