Yes, but Quezon was a major in the Philippine Republican Army in 1899 under President Emilio Aguinaldo. Quezon was inducted in 1934 as president of the Phil Commonwealth sponsored by the American colonial regime after besting Aguinaldo in a hotly contested election. Quezon also pledged allegiance to the United States, while the Phil National anthem was being played in English. Now, you ask why Spanish national anthem is being played here. Because people are confused who Filipinos really are.
