@ajohnson thats with the scope though, and I know 1500 is still alot, but if you think about it, there is nothing out there that even competes with BORS, there scopes out there that have these things built in, but then you dont get the option of having your own personal scope, which is critical, so considering BORS is one of a kind, Barrett is being pretty reasonable on its price, they could easily jack up the price more, and nobody could complain, becuase its the only one out there.
You've got to wonder why they didn't include a range finder into the BORS. Pulling a range finder out of your pocket and then 'dialing in' the result could easily be dispensed with by having the BORS do it itself, no?
@Panpiper They do have a range finder built in, you aim the cross hairs at the bottom then hit enter, then you aim at top of target then hit enter, it then tells you the distance.
what if you can't use a range finder? How do you determine the range to target before you can even use the BORS? If you use LASERS for ranging then the enemy will see you.
No, only if they've got an IR UI and most don't. Also, this is one of the reasons I said "you realize life isn't like the movies". Every one of your enemies on the battlefield isn't looking through a FLIR to catch that .00001 second your laser rangefinder is active to shoot a missile at you. This is especially ridiculous when you consider that most of our enemies have limited electronic warfare capability and in our current asymmetric environment they don't have any.
to BarrettFirearms as a barrett firearms consumer i wish to see the BORS in the future be able to account for windage and i think i speak for many other consumers who would like that feature aswell.
is it a joke, youre running all that powder and fine equipment and you give us a clip at 337yds? a good advert would have been a 500yd then go to 800 and 1400m not 337 than a 200 something shot, such a great company and yet amateur adverts. Also it will not compensate for your strong head wind and terrain features, extreme distance without that knowledge will get you nowhere. does it have a built in cosine indicator?
@flammo69 Exactly! I was VERY VERY impress with the device and before watching this video I was pretty much expecting some of the 1000+ yards degree of performance would be involve--guess not. "unbelievable! I'm in the black", well I guess 3.5" group at 337 yards by his .416 totally made my rem 700 6.5 lapua even more valuable. Got to give the guy some credit for not using rest nor sandbags though. As far as trying to sell the product...3 shots in the red would definitely get me thinking.
Okay, now I see the procedure for the setup, but he still laser ranged the distance to know what to set. He says that the BORS really shines when shooting multiple targets, but did he know the distances prior to shooting or does the BORS range it for you? If it does then why did he have to range the 1st target?
I think it is worth the money and the enjoyment you get out of it is worth it alone. Besides the rifle is top shelf for quality and the bors is awsome which ever rifle and caliber you choose to put it on.
I spent 2800.00 bucks for the leupold mark 4 8.5-25 x 50mm already mounted to the bors system and it does exactlly what they say sight in at 100 yds and thats it.
$2700!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!! Where's the built in range finder and night vision?

@vitesseextreme its just a regular scope, if the electronics fail, do the math yourself.

Lol, you realize life isn't like the movies, right? Lasers used by electronic devices are almost always not in the visible spectrum.

@10mmTroy ...the sensors on shoulder fired anti-tank missile launchers sees infrared lasers. the return fire you'll get will be a rocket.

$2800.00, is cartridge size independent - you can migrate it from rifle to rifle~! That is totally worth it.
