  • Prrrrety. Best Post

  • What's your opinion? The single says "Everybody Gotta Pay Some Dues" but the Cookin' album cover says "Everybody's" with the possessive. I don't have the album and I can't read it on the turntable in your video. My feeling is that the early Motown pressings had many errors on their lables, and that it would be best to use the correct English. You're a Motown master, please let me know your feeling about this.

  • do you have "Bad Girl" on Motown label?

  • @melkyjr Check out my video of "Bad Girl." I tried to like it but YouTube wouldn't accept the link. It shows a picture of the Motown label test pressings (Side A is called G1 and side B is called G2) This pressing was distributed only in the Detroit area. Also, bankman58 has a picture of it in his video too.

  • Correction: Three singles--the two mentioned and "Broken Hearted".

  • I love this song,it's hard to find though!

  • Good song. BTW, I love your commentaries at the beginning of each of your vids.

  • Great song, thanks for sharing. I had never heard this tune before.

  • Just play the music and shut the &^#@ up!!

  • @jmrice1959 why dont you watch someone else's vids then assclown!

  • @MotownMaster This was a hit we used to jam off this tune.

  • @MotownMaster Yes I agree. I like learning about the history of the track.

  • @jmrice1959 It toped the charts in my community. We used to jam off this tune.

  • i have and lord knows it was exspensive

  • With SO MUCH attention given to the Temptations and Supremes, the Miracles have been given short shrift...The existence of Motown via Smokey's relationship with Berry years before is quite significant...Plus, Smokey helped launch, the The Miracles, The Tempts, early release by the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, kept the Marvelettes going in the 60's and even propelled the Supremes again in the 70's!!!...The Miracles DO DESERVED THEIR PROPS!!!! BIG TIME!!...No Miracle, No Motown!!!

  • @hollidayevery That's EXACTLY right !!! NO MIRACLES.....NO MOTOWN !!!

  • ...while THE MIRACLES ARE BEING LEFT OUT ? No offense to fans of these artists, but ,The world must have shifted on some of weird axis, when a rap group, who's main claim to fame was covering an AEROSMITH song (RUN DMC)...an artist with only ONE MAJOR HIT (PERCY SLEDGE) ,... & a girl group with only ONE TOP 20 HIT ,gets inducted (THE RONETTES) Yet, THE MIRACLES , with over 50 chart hits ,4 GRAMMY HALL OF FAME inducted songs, and that launched AN ENTIRELY NEW MUSICAL MOVEMENT , GETS IGNORED ??

  • ***THE MIRACLES*** are truly a 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame worthy group. But they have been BLACKLISTED from RRHOF INDUCTION for the last 23 years, having not EVEN BEEN NOMINATED...NOT EVEN ONCE ,during this period, while , artists with FAR FEWER HITS, & FAR LESS ACCLAIMED, get inducted each year. THE MIRACLES' historical importance , as the group that launched the ENTIRE MOTOWN PHENOMENON alone should have GUARANTEED a spot among the FIRST INDUCTEES ! but now, even RAPPERS are getting in ?

  • @williamg2552 The miracles was the best.

  • @cassieann1000 I couldn't have said it any better,!!! :

  • @cassieann1000 You got THAT right, cassieann !!!

  • Love this song. But it seems too fast compared to what I remember.

  • Isn't that the truth about life, we all pay our dues, whether we like it, or are ready for it, that's just life!

  • Thanks to a very powerful black-owned radio station in my hometown, St. Louis, MO , I got to hear this and all early Miracles records. And I still remember the lyrics ! Thanks for the memories

  • when i joined the army in 1997 we had a cd of the miracles that we used to play really loudly in our room :D great times

  • Good advice, go write Smokey Bill.

  • It is one of only 2 MIRACLES ALBUMS to have ALL SIX original MIRACLES on the cover: SMOKEY, BOBBY, RONNIE PETE, MARV , and CLAUDETTE.

  • This was THE MIRACLES' 2nd album. It actually came out on CD in the early 90's. I KNOW... I have 2 copies. It is now out of print, but certain websites still have copies available.

  • HOW did smokey get to be so good! im just 15 but i just love smokey and the miracles.

  • Hey this is a good song. Thanks for sharing :)

  • actually the white means its a promo, thats all

  • That white Tamla label is rare, that was from the early 60's, but it was replaced by a yellow label with a brown donut on the left and the globe Tamla on the right later on until 1968 when it was also replaced by a radar globe Tamla label in the late 60's until the late 80's. Tamla had those label changes over the years.

  • i love how even though all the motown acts wre using the same musicians and writers their stuff sounded so different to each other - i think the strings always set the miracles apart from other groups who seemed to use more brassy sounds. great song.

  • I have this album on the black Tamla label (Canadian issue from 1961). My copy is in mint condition (yours also sounds amazing)! I wish they would have added "Mighty Good Lovin'" on this LP, don't know why they didnt??? Thanks!

  • I have always loved Smokey! Thanks for this! (((Hugs)))! ~Mimi~

  • I was in 1st grade and hadn't heard of Smokey yet, LOL so thanks for this. Can you find Swept for You by Smokey? I hope so!!
