quick question when you applied the termal stuff to the cpu, did you smudge it around on the top or do you just let the fan do that when its pushed on top
@ARDINM004 your supposed to spread it out, this guy did lazily, its better to spread it around, but make sure tehres like 2 mm space from the edge, just smudge it around the middle, not right to the VERY edge.
Never buy corsair ram its a complete rip off and I should know i have bought it before and talked to techs I suggest Muskin or GSkill may be adata if thats all you can afford.
wow how $1000 for this set up but naw we are 3 years on the computer is really out dated to modern standerds i have thrown better in the bin this year but thats how twchnolojy advances
wow , these videos are great ... im a noob , and i have never built a computer before ... so these vids help ..... but if there is anyone else who could give afvice on parts ... that would be great ^.^ .... thx
@mustafaishere depends on what you are running and what you plan on doing with the computer, if you have windows seven and plan to do any kind of gameing i would get at least 3gigs of memory at the least.
512MB would likely work, but be the minimum requirement for most modern games. Meaning game would be playable but likely lag at spots. I would recommend getting either a 1 GB or 2 GB graphic card depending on your budget.
if ur planing not to upgrade several years then its a good idea, but dont forget that speed often beats capacity , so if u buy a 512 medium speed card u wasted ur money
You're an idiot. Gaming PCs don't need to cost anywhere close to $1500. I still run an e8500 with a GTX 260 216SP, and it can still play every game available with no hardware-induced lag, and it costs nowhere close to $1500.
One question, what happens if you put the processor fan without applying the thermal paste on the processor? Is it really necessary or is it just recommendable?
The thermal paste will fill all the small voids between the heatsink and the processor. Your heatsink will not fully absorb the heat without thermal paste. I'd say that thermal paste is necessary.
Must be a book or something that can give more pre build warnings about touching stuff, or heat or screw ups so a person doesnt burn himself on a doityourself job? Rj
Same, and I've done a fair number of builds myself too.
I feel much safer putting the RAM and heatsink in outside of the case, because I have the whole back of the motherboard pressing down on the table, versus the motherboard pressing down on just a few high pressure points that the standoffs create.
i turned off directly from ups and i thought that as burned already,i spoke with a friend and he told me that i should reset the bios cause could be overclocking and i did it,but i sad to my self by the way i will go to the pc shop to buy this past.i put in the processor like this video and when i turned on the pc i realized the temperature was 31-35degrees i was so happy, and now i realized was not from the bios(the problem) but was because had no grey past(came of when i toke it the first time
my god about this past i had one of the worst moments of my life cause this: i have a quadrocore of intel 3,3ghz graphyc card of gforce 1gb 4gb ram and well i took all the components off to clean the machine and of corse the cpu fan, when i atatched every part again i didnt put this grey past and when i turned on the pc the system restarted and when was in the desktop screen came a msg of alsuite(i have a motherboard p5kc) that my cpu was overheating(78-80degrees) my God i turned off directly
i see on ur mobo there already video displayer heatsink thing... Thing on the motherboard. I use that and it fiune, i can watch movies and everything!! It is fast enough, y by nother video carder?
On board video actually isn't all that bad, just make sure to have plenty of physical memory, the more physical memory you allow the on board video, the better it performs. For average computer use (including movie playback) and even light gaming, this works great.
Anything more would require a dedicated graphics card, especially gaming.
wow you payed that much for $40 of ram. And that is not a god way to install the cpu you should have took a varey light grade of sand paper to the heatsink and spread the pasy on the cpu. nvidiea is the top graphics card even amd will tell you that and thay own ati.
uhmm, Why do are you so negative, i mean people can actualy use this information and can't use people making these kind's of comments so CHILL DUDE!!!!!
Hell no, at least for Crysis. I'm not sure what the requirements for wow are because I've never played it but it would be more than enough for CSS. I would wait until February or so to build a computer to run a game like Crysis. Nvidia is supposed to come out with the Geforce 9 by then and should be able to run crysis with out any lag (depending on the rest of your system.)
It's a tought decision tbh, If your building a brand new computer then you may want 64 bit, cos lets face it, in 2 years 64 bit will be standard. There isn't even that much of an advantage on 64 bit too...

why must put paste on the cpu?

yoto5951 3 years ago
the paste is necessery as heat conductor,if u don t use it the cpu will simple melt down or something like that(bad fuck s up the cpu)
StrongerThenYOU1923 3 years ago
so heat is transferred between the cpu and the heatsink fan.... hopefully better cooling....

Some types of on board video are better than others.
30129 3 years ago
That would depend on the purpose of the computer. For a basic entry level computer, onboard graphics is more than enough.
For the purpose of this computer though, a multimedia computer, I'd think a graphics card is a must.

Audio helps gameplay? or just the audio?

Some audio cards take the load of processing sound off the cpu, which frees up the cpu to worry about other things, resulting in a better frame rate.

w8 w8 you need 2 gigs for vista i thought it was 512 with 1 gig for "optimal efficiency"

Realisticly, 4gb is absolute minimum, vsta uses alot of memory, 1.5 gigs is foolish.

Don't forget if oyu are using 32bit vista, then you can't go over 3gigs of ram.

yeah 32 is the way to go for now because 64bit has a lot of problems, mainly in the area of games.
