Interestingly the behaviour would get them thrown out of any tournament as well as losing their status.
However, they do have the sticks well (the sticks are used for (1) creating a straight wall and (2) straightening out your hand)

Wolfan00 obviously has little idea about mahjong and less re Japanese mahjong. Give him credit though he does realise they are using mahjong tiles
Load of trash nothing to do with Japanese Mahjong (Riichi) which plays with a full tileset of 3 suits of 4*9 tiles plus 12 dragons and 16 winds. The main difference between chinese mahjong styles and japanese mahjong is that japanese mahjong is based more on producing sets of tiles that create a minimum number of doubles.
