everything in this car is cool but one thing which is worse is asid batterys which can hardly last one or two years only than u have to spend hundrets off dollar in this way concept of saying is lost
Dear Mr. Jos Goble, I like your electric car. I think it is nice and also great that you can interact too. Please discover Aircar on the YouTube and let me know what you think about it. May be we meet in Nice and create two special َAircars for girls and boys who like to travel to Iran, to revive respect for Human rights.
I agree its more than most but it is Defently not 100% Green. I also do not see what you need 24 batters or 288 volts? Most s10 don't use over 100 volts. P.s- Lead Acid batteries are VERY BAD! and im going pick up some ticks :38
hey jos -->no puedo (ingles) ,pero me gusta tu video!!.pregunta.Que clase de motor usa??cuantas revuluciones da??y podras decirme,el valor del motor??me gustaria hacer un proyecto igual.gracias
Yeh, I haven't had a chance to put any more batteries in it to bring the suspension down. I also want to do some more frame work to allow the body to sit lower.
dude you rock. who says electric cars are nerdy. here you can put it any where. and with a some minor ajustments. it can go faster then most gas vehicles!
That's actually a Corbin Sparrow. It's an electric 3-wheeler that seats one person and a couple of bags of groceries, or a small pet- but it is absolutely designed for all major roadways and is such a cool car! (Bob runs it off of solar panels from his house).
How fast does it go? You mention that people have the perception that these vehicles are slow, then you don't say how fast it goes. It is a pretty vehicle for sure!
I rode in this car and it was pretty quick. Can't say for sure the 0-60 number, but certainly a few seconds to highway speed. He did a great job on this car and also contributes to Bob Schneeveis' other solar vehicle inventions as well. Have you seen the Solar Chariot or the Solar Big wheel clip? Those are incredible!
No, I haven't seen the others, but I will check them out. These all look pretty cool.
I am not trying to nitpick regarding the speed and I am completely for your cause. It was just a mild irritation when I was watching the film. I was just pointing it out because part of gaining acceptance will include showing folks that these solutions can actually create something like what we normally see on the street. So, it can drive on the highway? That is excellent! Very cool stuff, indeed.
Sure no worries at all. I think there are a few minor tweaks to the vehicle before it can be 'street legal' - but otherwise it's a sweet ride...and totally silent I might add.
I wish I knew how fast it went, haven't had a chance to hook up the speedometer or had an open enough area to run it :p. It should make freeway speeds with no issue and should be quite peppy with a 2000 amp speed controller.
Thank you! We are trying to make them fresh squeezed every week : ) This on top of our regular 30-minute PBS shows we have to do- as well as our upcoming cookbook and more travels to film yet more shows...more to come!
Steve Clunn of grassroots EV also did an EV conversion of a Gazelle. Zilla 1k, 240V pack of Exide Orbitals, I think a WarP 8" motor.
Those things have the aerodynamics of a brick. The use of this platform over say, a Porsche Spyder kit car or Speedster kit car, severely hurts your range.
It's true that this particular kit car is not as aerodynamic, but we're mainly highlighting this awesome High School kid who built this car, and for the promise of the future for young designers who share his love of the planet.
I started designing mine in high school, but have never had the cash to make progress on it. Now I'm out of college and once I find work, my Triumph GT6 conversion will be done in a matter of months.
is it hard to shift?? do u have to mach the speed of the tires with the speed of the motor for a smooth shift

24 batteries times 100 million drivers.... our landfills will be toxic waste dumps in no time.
How many "hyrocarbons" does it take to make 24 batteries?

I am very interested in alt energy and admire your work but aren't lead batteries bad for the environment?

My vote goes to the guy in Olympia who converted a '79 VW Beetle to run on electricity. It's the poor man's Tesla Roadster..

I agree< and would like to see the motor and battery set up. The one I saw was yellow and didn't show it.

I just find it odd that the kit car body is placed so high up. Kind of takes the old car feel away.
