Also, I was wrong, the British had the toughest jobs on the D-Day invasion, not only did they have to attack the landing beaches "Gold" and "Sword." But they also had to fight their way into Caen to take the "Pegasus Bridge" to stop German reinforcements pushing back in from the East.

Americans landed on the beaches "Omaha" and "Utah." Which were the 2 most western beaches. Furthest away from the second round of attacks from the East.
