In Halo 3 when you run out of time on the final level, you don't get a special cutscene. Also, many RPG games have alternate endings. Fable 1-3 all have alternate endings depending on how you play the game. Star Wars: The Force Unleased also has an alternate ending. One of it's endings is where you die. As for alternate ending books, they tell you the same thing. When you reach a dead-end ending, it tells you to go back and try again, which is exactly what this is. So there you have it. If the game actually makes you respawn, then there would be no need for checkpoints.

A bit harsh don't you think? Considering you have never fought him at all? The only thing you really saw was his driving, which was generally average. And I know several skilled Halo players who wouldn't know how to drive a Mongoose around a hill with out spinning out or toppling over. With that being said, I thought that this video was a bit too much build-up for such an unimpressive ending.

It is an alternate ending. The main ending is where you fly away in the ship. This ending is different because you don't fly away in the ship. Therefore, it is an alternate ending. The smallest difference automatically makes an ending alternate. If the ship was green instead of black, it would be considered an alternate ending.

A bit harsh don't you think? Considering you have never fought him at all? The only thing you really saw was his driving, which was generally average. And I know several skilled Halo players who wouldn't know how to drive a Mongoose around a hill with out spinning out or toppling over. With that being said, I thought that this video was a bit too much build-up for such an unimpressive ending.

If you look in between the walls when you get to that hanger, sometimes there is a Spec Ops elite standing there. He just stands there and shoots flood. It's like he has a death wish. LOL

It is an alternate ending. The main ending is where you fly away in the ship. This ending is different because you don't fly away in the ship. Therefore, it is an alternate ending. The smallest difference automatically makes an ending alternate. If the ship was green instead of black, it would be considered an alternate ending.
