  • Good advice all, thanks. In Florida, we call it a 'Wheaton-Greetin' as well and I get double the pleasure from Murphy (4) and Bailey (3). The older male has calmed down a little but the female has allot of spunk and occasionally will start fights between them. Got to get a trainer involved.

  • Ah, wonderful, this is why I go home...

  • My wheaton does all these exact things, from the jumping to the play hand eating!

  • yes sarah, I can. It's my job.

  • I think it's called the Wheaton Greetin' but welcome works to

  • that is a complete dominance issue that should be corrected!

  • @ardvardian Wow, are you serious? You can look at a 60-second clip of a dog overjoyed at seeing his owner return home from work and think that the dog has dominance issues? Get over yourself.

  • I have had an American Akita as well and he was far harder to raise with other dogs then the two wheatons but I trained him right and put effort in as I have done with the wheatens and to this day I have had no serious problems with my dogs. It's mainly down to how a owner treats and raises a dog which is then reflected in a dogs behavior

  • Gotta love those weatons. Got one at age 11, still giving me that welcome if I´ve just been gone for 10 minutes.

  • I love the little wiggle!

  • oh my gosh! my wheaton Kodi does the EXACT same thing! I know it is the breeds "way" but it still cracks me up how they can be so similar!!

  • fantastic! mine goes rocket dog for about 3 mins too! wonderful video!

  • so my problem is i love the wheaten greetin, but when guests come over its TOO MUCH lol...anybody know a cure for this??

  • @bluehoopz44 I have a Wheaten too. She nearly has a heart attack when I get home. I heard the best way to prevent them from getting so excited is to ignore them when you get home until they calm down and eventually they realize spazing out doesn't get them attention and they stop. No good for me cause I can't help but instigate her behavior. I call her Psycho when she's in heart attack mode. Good luck!

  • awww i want a wheaton!!!!

  • That is absolutely precious!

  • @Smaku69times i hope you go die in a hole WHEATEN TERRIERS ARE THE BEST I LOVE TH EM

  • Could you spell Wheaten right please??????? @iffs

  • Yes, this is how Wheatens greet people. It's the best thing in the world.

  • just like my wheaton

  • Thanks for the support you two!!

  • you suck smaku69times. wheaties rock.

anyway i love your green door. that's pimp.

  • Ignore that idiot Smaku. I think your dog is adorable and very intelligent. Nice video!

  • @Smaku69times Then what the f--k are you doing looking at Wheaton videos .. I suppose your favourite breed is a pit bull..you're ignorant.

  • @Smaku69times Troll.

  • @Smaku69times i know a worst breed ur mom!

  • @Smaku69times 1. wheatens are great companion dogs that stick by you forever 2. They will protect you no matter what, they would kill themselves to save their owner, for example a coyote was in my lawn and my wheaten came bursting out scaring it away cause he thought i was in trouble 3. they are very hansome cute dogs 4. They have silky wonderful fur and legendary fangs, before you could put hot lead on them they would dodge it see you were evil, pounce on you then rip your lungs out, so go try

  • @Smaku69times their great dogs very loyal, great hunting dogs, great with children, very intelligent and surprisingly are known to have strength similar to a pit bull terrier. So what exactly do you hate about the breed?

  • @LCRCBOY Well I don't hate em, I have always admired them--all terriers in fact. Recently, I looked into getting an Irish Terrier, and the breeder, when she found out I had other dogs just said "I don't recommend you place these terriers with any other dogs". That's not a knock, just something I have been told, for years, about any terrier. I don't even know if it is true, I hope not, because I would like to have a Wheaten, or Irish, or something along that line.

  • @jimquantic man I wasint talking to you it clearly says in my last post @Smaku69times, unless this is another youtube user you are typing to me from

  • @LCRCBOY Yeah, I know, I was just looking for some advice about the breed, trying to learn a bit about em and sounded like you knew something about them. I wanted to be clear I not only did not join anyone in hating em, that I liked em, but from afar, I don't think I have ever played with one of em in the flesh. And I was worried how they might react to my other dogs (Shetland Sheepdogs), as I heard any terrier may not mix well with other dogs--wanted your input, that's all.

  • @jimquantic sorry I thought you may have been that other guy, soft wheaten terriers are great dogs, Ive have two and they get on great with each other they also get on well with other dogs. Its all about training from an early age and making sure they get plenty of interaction with other dogs from an early age as well. I would definitely recommend them and they are great family dogs. Just make sure you have enough time to take them out running or walking they really need regular exercise.

  • @LCRCBOY I talked to a woman who was one of the top Irish Terrier people, but just told me "don't do it" when I was thinking of getting one. She just said that any terrier, being a terrier, is not a good bet with other dogs--terriers or any other kind. But the Wheaten, from what I could see, looks like it behaves with not so much of a hunting/kill drive. The only terrier I ever owned, loved the dog, but it bit like crazy, wanted to fight any dog, anytime. Thanks for the input.

  • @jimquantic ok listen man I live in Ireland and both my wheatens come from a breeder who has won numerous dog shows and the two that I have bought are on the linage of some of the earliest to date known wheaten families. Yes Wheatons have a hunting drive which makes raising them difficult with small animals like rabbit, mice or similar animals. But I guarantee you if you raise them correctly you will not have a problem. Mine and others I have dealt with dont have a problem with other dogs

  • @LCRCBOY That is interesting, and great to hear that. Great because I love what I see: their size, their look, their energy, and they don't seem like, say, a Jack Russel, and I DID get the feeling they would be OK with my sheep dogs, plus my sheepdogs are so mild--they could give a rip who is in charge, so if the Wheaten did want to be the boss, they don't care. Sounds like you have a good line up there, stay warm. An Irishman in CA, USA. jmichaelisbell@gmail.com

  • @jimquantic My first Wheaten Penny wasn't really into other dogs but she never had a "problem" with other dogs, just seemed scared of them. My new wheaten, Bailey, loves other dogs & sees them as playmates. I have not had one problem. But I think dogs are like people. Each one is a different individual with different personalities.

  • Yup, its the "Wheaten Greetin," and a daily part of life with a Wheaten! Wouldn't have it any other way!

  • we call it the "Wheaten Greetin"

  • Sorry.... totally disagree

I have the same performance when i walk through the door and our dog is perfectly well behaved and certainly knows who the gaffer is !!!!!

  • @closbt well is your dog a 1st class wheaten? hmm?

  • mine does the same thing

    only he kisses my face.

    haha :)

  • My dog does the same thing!

    He's a wheaten too! =3

  • ditto

  • Adorable!

  • Technically, this is called the "Weaton Greetin'"

  • @mwmii790 hahaahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaaahhahahahahahahaahahhaahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha so funny man
