  • i had to paint one. when is nintendo going to get smart and sell one? I've been asked so many times about it. I'll tell you one thing though, that Wiimote is durable. I threw it against the wall a few times for one take and it still works perfectly!! ;)

  • You're in luck! Nintendo just announced a new black wii and controlers!

  • @jackpaccionejr Now you have a Black Wii and a Black Wiimote =)

  • NO WONDER THIS VID WON THE COMPITITION!! THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! It shows how the wii's motion sensitivity can be used to to do all sorts of cool things like scoop ice cream and it shows how to lead your own life, not let it be lead by some guy holding a wiimote and nunchuks! U need to do it urself!

  • I WANT A WIIVIL REMOTE!!! XD

    Jack

  • i love this video, i watched it lots of times!

    make more please

  • i loves this, it so awesome

  • Punchout destroyed this, that actully had the feel of a great movie i would have paid to see a full length.

this i got bored fast. that i've watched like 10 times and want to watch again.

  • Hey I happen to reach this video.. !and check Nintendo short cuts .. Congratulation! you won 1st!

  • The Punch-Out trailer legitimately lost probably because Team Awesome just submitted one of their Nintendo live-action films (like the Contra film), instead of something about the Wii. Regardless, it's a far superior film to this one. The Punch-Out trailer was the most inspirational Nintendo-related thing ever. Good vs. Wiivil should merit an A at a film class, but not much more.

  • It's not a film...

It's a trailer, you said so yourself.

No self-respecting film competition is going to hand a prize over to a trailer.

It's a giant montage, they didn't have to write anything, they just edited (quite well) a bunch of stuff together.

If it was a music video competition you might have a leg to stand on, but your just full of crap and have no idea what you're talking about.

  • It's a mock trailer for a fictional film. It's ridiculous to state that a film competition will not "hand a prize over to a trailer," unless they actually state in the rules that no trailers are allowed.

And what the hell do music videos have to do with trailers

And "they didn't have to write anything"? That's ridiculous as well. It's a fictional film that never existed, so the people behind the trailer had to write plenty.

  • Do you have a vested interest in the people behind "Good vs. Wiivil" or something? Are they an up-and-coming production company? I don't understand your vigorous defense of them.

And it's "you're full of crap", thank you very much.

  • They didn't have to write a real narrative, not in the film sense... if they did it's clear from the editing that it didn't work so they had to turn it into a trailer.

It is not a self-contained narrative. There is no clear beginning, middle and end.

It's a very entertaining video, superbly edited, a couple of decent actors, but it would never win anything in "any" film competition.

  • If you're trying to argue that they should have won a DS Lite, sure, why not?

Is it worth defaming someone else's work six months after the competition?

    Not in the slightest.

My defense of this project stands in the way of the continued unprovoked negativity from people that had absolutely nothing to do with the punch-out video or any of the other projects.

  • I'm not defaming this at all. I'm simply giving an honest review of this video in comparison to another entry of the contest. I can certainly compare this favorably or negatively towards Nintendo Office and the other entries. Should I?

  • limbas has had no good arguments at all. His clm tone is actually the only thing that has been working or him. Punch-out obviously had a plot: Little Mac decides to get back in the ring in order to get money to pay rent and whatnought. And Punch-Out has something in common with Koopa Force, they ARE BOTH TRAILERS. So obviously being a trailer can get you furher than you think. I know you are going to argue this but there will be no point, this is the last time i visit this page

  • I have better things to do to keep returning to this page to see who has replied to my comment. All of you are wasting jack paccione's time. BTW Jack, congrats of placing first place. Honestly I liked the punch out trailer better but you won for a reason, and that reason is that you got movie making skills. Again, congrats, and limbas will coninue being your groupie

  • But yet here you are? Nah, you give a better argument than those who could be considered your compatriots.

We have obviously have different opinions of plot. I subscribe to the idea of classic structure and maintain that without a resolution, there is no narrative, herego, no plot.

Best of luck to you in your future groupie "smack-down" endeavors.

    Go Jack!

  • Trailer or not it was 100x better then this, and trailer or not it was a good promo and triggers memorys of that game, and with hope nintendo will make a new one where its First person.

  • You guys at jackpaccionejr and company are really creative! Again, great work! Love the "pause" scene.

  • he won 1st!!

  • my friend richie was in it. he is the kid with the yankee t-shirt on and his dad is the bald one carrying him out of carvel

  • Congrats on winning the contest. :D

  • Wow that was...underwhelming.

  • Did you compete in the competition? I only ask because you keep leaving comments. (I do too, but because I was having a lot of fun tormenting that racist guy)

  • No I didn't, and if you're hoping to have a big drawn out argument with me over this video or anything else you're gonna be disappointed.

  • Nope, just wanted to know why you were so obsessed, but it sounds like it's a secret, so, please, pretend I never asked.

  • could anyone please tell me that mario theme remix?

  • It's mine.... I wrote it and remixed it using GIGA studio. All the music in this film was writen by me... well... after nintendo wrote it of course... haha

  • could you load these tracks up? (by mediafire, or whatever)

  • nice! really creative!

  • hEY CAn you tell me the name of the zelda's song at the end of the video?THX

  • wow... thanks... a comment about the film... hahaha... I wrote all the music in this movie. I took the traditional Zelda theme and used GIGA Orchestra to mod it :P Thanks!

  • you suck8424 is horeible. i was the writer's former student. please excuse my typing. it was great guys

  • Wow, judges sure fucked this one up. This was better than the Punch Out entry... HOW!? Not obvious at all that Nintendo was trying to push their Wii system. The Punch Out entry had me smiling and laughing the entire video, this had me shaking my head in embarrassment and anger.

  • Mr. Suck,

The real reason that they didn't place is probably because they designed a trailer instead of an actual narrative.

Before you try to argue otherwise, please explain what actually happens in the course of the video? What was the actual ending? Who won?

Before you answer, be prepared to point out the actual segment that illustrates your response.

I look forward to your reply.

  • It didn't have a narrative, that can't be denied, but it had two things up on Good vs. Wiivil

    1. It was entertaining to watch.

    2. You could tell the people making it really love Nintendo.

Am I saying that means it should've won the conest? Not necessarily, but it's why I enjoy watching Punch-Out again from time to time, and why, having seen this, I don't plan to watch it again.

  • I think entertainment value is subjective, but did find the Punch-out video to be entertaining, in a music video sort of way.

As far as this being a short film competition, however, I would maintain that the punch-out video is not a narrative, but rather a series of moments that are strung together through music and movement. No arc, no plot development, no rising action, no resolution.

Great production values will only carry you so far.

  • This is the release from Nintendo concerning the competition:

The short film submissions must be less than five minutes long and Nintendo-themed in some way. The rest is up to the imagination of the filmmakers, who can explore themes using the new Wii™ home video game system, the hand-held Nintendo DS™ or even classic Nintendo characters and systems. The entries can be comedies or dramas, live action or animated -- the options for cinematic creativity are almost endless.

  • limbas, I respect your thoughts, but where do the rules state that one must have a narrative in order to merit winning? The Punch Out trailer did what was asked and certainly deserved to be considered for the best entry. A short film contest concerning Nintendo should NOT be taken as seriously as you seem to be thinking it should. If you want a film competition, go to one, they are a treat, but to say the Punch Out trailer has no merit because it had no narrative is foolish.

  • Ahh Mr. Suck, thank you for your very dignified reply.

I was never quoting the rules, merely that a trailer is not a film.

I'm fairly certain the creators of the video, if they are film students, can attest to such (if not now, then further in their educations/careers).

They are very talented and will most likely go quite far in their respective fields.

  • I decided to review the other winning entries and have decided that there does not appear to be any sort of easily recognizable criteria for the selection of the winning entries.

I still feel that this entry earned it's 1st place award, but the 2nd and 3rd place entries had some glaring flaws. Mainly that both of them were, at least in part, created well before the start of the competition.

  • HELLO MICK MICK!

    -Former student

  • GAY AS AIDS

  • great plot mr walsh you were great as always cant wait till we work together again

    the riccardos

  • Not bad but i dont think it was the best in the competition.

  • Great video...liked that it took place in an ice cream parlor....I love ice cream!! It was pretty cool when you made him pause and then started him back up...shoving ice cream in a lady's face..lol. Good vs. Evil Wiivil concept...very creative in the way he was being controlled by them...how they were literally pushing his buttons...lol. The ending was very cool..kinda of Rod Serling..'The Twilight Zone'...when you think things are going to get back to normal and they don't ...lmao

    jojocinema

  • HE WIN THE THING GOOD FOR HIM

  • Can you make more PlZ I Beck you

  • HE IS EVIL THE WIIVILL IS EVIL :O

  • this is heaps cool it was funny wen the guy shoved the ice cream in the ladys face lol good job :D

  • Lame. Punchout whooped everyones asses, I don't care what the judges say.

  • Jesus Christ man, the contest was over back in June, get over yourself.

Do you think the guys from the punch-out video are going to see your ridiculous comment and come give you oral pleasure?

    Seriously, what's the motivation here?

  • Gee, I don't know... Voicing an opinion maybe? I really don't give two fucks about who reads what I post as long as I get in my two cents.

And I most certainly don't have time in my day of little 14yr old pricks like you trying to get a rise out of everyone you come in contact with.

So abuh-bye, assface. Get back under your bridge. I'm already bored with you.

  • If you're already bored, why'd you respond?

I see a theme here, one where you can't let things go.

    OCD perhaps?

    Hmm, just *my* two cents.

Go find someone else's work to pretend you're attached to and whine about your talentless existence there, Mr. Fanboy.

  • What's with the racist cartoons in your favorites?

  • That was directed to ElZomboFantasmo

  • I prefer not to hide and forget history. And most of them are more true than they are racist.

What does that have to do with anything?

  • How are these cartoons more true than they are racist?

From what I'm seeing there's lots of people picking cotton, in black face, saying "mammy", wearing rags, eating watermelon and speaking in broken english.

Is that what you're claiming is more "true" than "racist"?

  • Did black people pick cotton? Yes. Did they say stuff like "mammy"? Yes. Did they wear rags? Yes. Speak broken english? Ever listen to rap?

As for watermelon, just about all slaves were in the south where the fruit is plentiful.

Plus, watermelon is just plain fucking good.

  • Interesting, but I'll counter with this...

How many cartoons do you have favorited/have seen that show/depict white people doing the same things?

    Zero.

White people have picked cotton. White people have said, "mammy". White people speak in broken english (Ever listened to country music?)

As for watermelon, you just stated that it's "fucking good", but yet there are no videos on youtube chronicling your consumption of said fruit.

    Try again.

  • Holy shit, you ARE a fucking idiot. I started this by pointing out this video sucks donkey balls compared to the video made by Team Awesome. And here you've turned it into a way to judge my moral fibers and somehow make me look racist.

You must be one sad, sad lonely little boy to be so addicted to me.

    You are dismissed.

  • Way to totally dodge the question.

    I win.

    Racist.

  • Yeah, I'm sure racist. A Mexican anti-racist skinhead in the Gainesville S.H.A.R.P.s

You sure got me there, buddy.

  • Yeah, just because you "might" be Mexican doesn't magically make my argument go away.

    Just substitute Latino/Mexican for "white".

You're still dodging my questions, which means...

    I STILL win.

  • What the fuck do you win besides a boner for your ego? I'm done with this idiot dick-pulling contest. You're apparently too stupid to listen to anything other than the voices in that pea-sized brain of yours encased in your earth-ball sized head.

If you respond to this again, you're just even more of an idiot. Good day.

  • I win the satisfaction of knowing that you're too afraid and/or stupid to answer my questions regarding your flawed philosophy/racist outlook.

  • i can tell yur a ps3 fann lol

  • lol

  • dude,that was great

  • Ugh, the Punchout one was good, but this one took more time editing and making it seem believable, give it up. He definitely took his time and fine-tuned it.

  • I dont get what was to terrible about the video. I mean, It wasn't as good as some of the other Nintendo Shortcuts entries, but it wasn't that bad.

  • what program did you use to make this?

  • Vegas Video Pro.... it rocks.... all my movies are sone on Vegas. Screw Final Cut. ;)

  • I cant believe this pile of feces actually won over all the other videos that took more than 5 minutes and 3 lame ass actors to make.

  • wow that was a great video im glad you won!!!

  • Good video. By the way, where did you get the black Wiimote from?

  • just painted it. it still works too... I just played Resident "Wiivil" with it yesterday. haha... Damn... a lot of people have been asking about it. I should put it on ebay. :p

  • What did you paint it with? How did you change Wii to Wiivil? Sorry to pester you with it, but it's so awesome.

  • haha.. no problem... I took it apart.. carefully... painted the shell with black gloss spray paint, then used a silver paint marker to carefully write in Wiivil. I cat believe it still works perfectly... lol... becayse i DID have to throw it against a wall at one point in the movie.

  • Awh, i think you screwed the ending up. Instead of just giving the dude control of his own life back to him he became one of the controlling dudes :<

  • thats so funny

  • AWESOME vid!!! verry funny

  • hi this vid is in the n.revolution mag this how i found this vid.

n.revolution issue 12 page 028 ps great vid

  • what?!! they feature your video in a magazine and they don't even tell you!!? WOW...

  • haha - yeah i know right? - if anybody has the issue.... please email me... hahaha...

  • shouldn't Nintendo give you a free copy of that particular issue? i mean you won and its featured there maybe you should write them a letter :P

cause why should you pay for a issue were your vid was featured in.

  • yeah good idea.... but... you know they will tell me to order a backorder mag. i haven't even received the money yet for this competition. -sigh- wth...

  • you win money? how much?

  • How did you pause real life like in the Ice cream Shoppe?

  • (\__/)

(+'.'+) This is Bunny. Copy and paste bunny into

  • WTFH

  • weaksauce...punchout should have won

  • Don't question Wiivil! LOL

  • totaly

  • Didn't this win?

  • Nice! It's very good, I like the concept, it should even be a commercial! XD

  • I loved the end when the guy with the cane started dancing XD Priceless

  • this one sucks compared to the punch out video

  • This is a great video, the look in "Good's" face is pricesless when the ice cream gets smashed in the girls face, great cinematography. Great video.

  • haha this is so funny, i loved it, and the freezing effect was very well done, not sure how you did it? :O and yeah i laughed alot, great job!

  • OMG!!! i work with the Evil guy, hes a school teacher. That was filmed on Ave. N in brooklyn NY

  • Great movie guys

  • wonderful

  • lmfao

  • Wonderful!

  • Great job , man

  • sweet, i have a wii, too

  • Jack, great moive. i Love the Mario/zelda orchestra themed music, did you make it? is there a full version online?

  • Thanks dude... i wrote all the music, but there isn't a version i put online yet. so many people have been asking. I feel like kind of a jerk that i havent made it available yet... :( i will do it soon.

  • Probabilaty?! LOL and you have the nerve to call someone else an idiot! Nintendo invented the video game controller?!! Then they must be idiots for allowing other companies like Sega, Sony, and Microsoft from stealing their "revolutionary" idea. Nintendo has come up with a good idea with the Wii controller but there were video games before Nintendo (aka Atari) and the 10 years have shown that others like Sony and Microsoft can do things better than them.
