The Animated series was awesome a mean damn I would watch it all over again even today but this move has tarnished the good name that is Dargonball Z, now I don't want to paint James Wong as a bad director because he did make some ... well ... No, Bulma does not hold guns in the Manga. It is another girl (not remembering her name) who does. Regarding the ages of the characters, these were wrong in whatever timeline you consider. If they wanted the live action movie to refer to the first DB episodes Goku should had been 11-12 years old. And even if we say "OK that is too young", they could refer to the first Goku years in a 20-30 min summary and then move to a later part of DB or even jump to DBZ. In general, this movie is terrible.

DB needs a reboot, but live action is not the way. A cgi film would work well, but gotta have it in the DBZ timeline with the classic villains like Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz or maybe throw in Freiza in the mix along with all the original Z fighters.

I grew up with DBZ, and I loved this movie. Not trying to say you're wrong (everyone's opinion is right, cuz it's their opinion), but I personally think it was a good movie. I'm about 21, btw.

They should have made it longer, should have had Krilin so that in the sequal they could have Friza and not have to rush into introducing Krilin. I would get Steven Spielberg , George Lucas, and James Cameron to redirect this movie. You got Steven Spielberg working on the dinosaurs that were from the series, George Lucas working on the characters like Piccolo and other creatures that the movie screwed up and then there is James Cameron that is known for his best movie Avatar. He write the script and work on the background of this movie. It would take three of the best directors to remake DragonBall that's my wish.

This movie just was a whole bunch of shit wrapped around a very thin line of truth of the series. I hated it and i wish it had been better because i had hoped for a sequel but not from whoever the hell directed this garbage

Maybe in the US people were introduced to DragonBall in their 20s, but remember the series is an international hit. There is a whole generation of young adults in Latin America that grew up watching DragonBall and, yes, we HATED the movie. Besides, little kids also hated it! Specially those who are growing up watching DB reruns on Cartoon Network, and I know a couple.

Dont want to sound rude but they kinda messed up dragonball that deserves in my opinion more that this pitiful false movie. Nothing is similar to the real dragonball except the ball itself. Dragonball is actually japanese and so the characters look and culture. What do western looking people have got to do with dragonball characters' look dont know. Either they should stop harming the image of dragonball or they should work on their goal properly.

i completely agree with the fact that the movie sucked balls, but I honestly believe that the odds that goku is asian are just as fair as him being white. He wasnt actually even born on planet earth so he could actually be white. who knows? And how can you really distinguish asians and white people in anime shows anyway their facial features are pretty much the same

They should have made it longer, should have had Krilin so that in the sequal they could have Friza and not have to rush into introducing Krilin. The problem with book and animated shows being turned into movies is that pretty much every director wants to change something for some reason when all the fans want it to stay true to the story. I like how they made the dragon balls look though, and I liked the beggining with ChiChi's party, the scene at the school and when he tries jelling his hair.

@ZeWaffles I'm not saying the scene at the party was acurate, none of the movie was acurate, but I still enjoyed the scene at the party. But my favorite part was when he tried jelling his hair and it just went right back to normal sending all the jell everywhere, that was probebly the most accuarate part of the movie cuz thats probably what would happen.

definitely had its faults, though some parts i considered cool. the movie's setting and medium budget looking visuals were a bit off. the way they tried to modernize the movie was a bit strange also.
ex. if they made the world a bit more futuristic looking. couldve made capsulecorp have a bigger role instead of that lone 4 wheeler transforming clip

i am a realy big dragonball z fan ever since it came out here in the early 90s this film is very disapointing kids made better homemade movies then this. the whole picolo story is just too much to cover in one 75 min film. if anything they should of made on of themovies not the series from dragnball. please never insult dragonball like this ever again film makers. cos in this one film u managed to ruin n shit on great years of dragonball !!!!
