Try adding still pics at the end of the video, or better describing the techniques used, the video camera looses an awful lot on the paintwork. That or either do it full HD.

PD: have seen some of the BTP commission work and granted they have different lvls, but the ones i saw were far from impressive.

I just got my first commission over the weekend, it was to clean up and repaint a Khorne Lord on Juggernaught and do a bit of kitbashing to change its loadout, and also to use a Chaos Lord body to convert it pretty much entirely into a Nurgle Sorcerer with wings and have a familiar modeled separate from it.

it is a GW paint :), prime white, blood red all over the body then use a brown ink in the recesses use blod red to patch up and highilight in fiery orange, finish off with varnish

i think it is all a matter of style, i dont think blue table painting is very good with their style, i just dont like it. i like jawaballs style, but not alot. Auxeli0n has a very cool and stylized painting style, so i think it is all a matter of style. i must say though, what is an army if u didnt paint it ur self.

If you look in the codex, tactical sergeants are veterans. They get 2 base attacks and some have special options.

my painting quality isn't nearly this good but im proud of how my army looks. i base coat chaos black and then some dark angels green. then i drybrush mythril silver very lightly to give the armour an aged, almost war-torn metal kind of look. its kinda weird on the space marines, but it makes my predator and my land raider crusader look cool. I'll have future videos up showing my stuff.

Get a product called Simple Green, and soak them for a couple of hours. Then use a toothbrush and scrub them under running water.

Due to the nature of painting IF, they will cost a bit more, but yes, I will do them. You can find an IF terminator video here some place. He would be considered middle of the road in quality. If you are seriously interested in a commission, email me, and I we can start discussing it in personal emails. Just understand, It will not be fast or cheap. :)

I like BTP and if I could afford to get an army painted (or afford an army at GW's current prices) I'd let Shawn and the gang take a crack at it for me and see what they come up with. I'm VERY slowly adding to my Dark Angels a few blisters or a box set at a time. My stuff will never look as good as yours or the stuff BTP do. I basecoat, Minwax dip and highlight mine. It's nothing fancy but it's decent for game purposes. Have you used the new GW washes before?

But what I think you are getting at is that BTP is a studio and they have multiple guys working on their multiple commissions. I am just me!  This project is sitting right next to my own personal stuff and I am pretty much going from one to the other as I paint.

Well I am using different levels of quality. I find it hard to paint to a low standard... I suppose if some one just wanted me to spit an army out as fast as I could to table top quality, I could lower the standards. Once I am done with these and Ihave time I will work on doing some minimal table top squads at speed to see if I can make them feasible.

Well, I am doing it for the dough, but the customer understands that he is paying for love that I am putting into each model. It could be personal preference but I would rather have a mini painted in Jawaballs's style as I like his more traditional style and the sharp highlights look really good on marines. These are definitely above the average table top quality.

BTP does a great job, but you can really see they just use a bunch of washes and glazes which don't give you the same detail. In fact I think that sometimes the models look quite sloppy. I guess that is the downside to having such a quick turnaround.

i never said that they werent better. I was just saying that a lot of the things that you see on BTP is usually level 2 work as that is the most cost effective. So its at a lower quality than would be shown by Jawa, as his are prob all level 3 or higher. All i said was he prob offers level 2 prices for level 3+ work. Its like people dont read what i wrote but rather they see what they want to see i guess.

Mordian, wash with asurman, then hl with Ultramarine, and ice. For these, I based red, then washed with Baal red, then HL with Blood, blazing orange and firery orange.
