I was 19 when I got my driver's license. My dad practiced with me for awhile, it drove me nuts because he's so critical. Then my parents paid a driving school to practice with me for a couple of hours before the test and the school took me to the DMV to get me my driver's license which I passed. I really learned to drive after I got my driver's license.

Sonia....When I was in Quebec...we rented a zip car ...or similar...and drove out to the countryside for a Francaise Hootenany...lt was tons of fun!....See if your city has these cheap rentals....and keep trying to get a license..or just 'risk' driving without one!
I remember failing my first driving exam because I drove in a country lane in 3rd gear, yeah one of those little lanes with barely enough room for 2 cars to pass & lots of corners & trees stacked either side so you can't see ahead.30mph speed limit, the tosser at the end of the exam said I should have been driving in 4th gear..reason being more ECO friendly..I swear I could have hit that guy, I later found out from others they fail people on the most ridiculous things, it's a total scam racket.
You crack me up (laughing). My sister got her license on 6th attempt and she is good driver now so try get those nerves under control. You could look at electric bike or trikes, some companies like lightfoot cycles do special orders for people in wheelchairs and electric motors these days can propel bikes or trikes for 60 miles or so (depending batteries you get) at speeds up to 20-25mph so that would be far the cheaper option and friendlier to environment.
Try not looking at and talking to the examiner; make it appear that ALL of your attention is focused on your driving and most especially on the road ahead.

I also think it's harder to learn things as you get older.... If you do buy a car sometime, just make sure the coolant has been changed regulary, as bad coolant can cause corrosion inside the engine.
I lost my license for 4 years and had to retake the driving test and when the test was over the instructor asked if i ever had a license before because i was so relaxed. The only bad thing that came out of it all is he made me take the tint off the windows, that pissed me off. Just curious but what are you failing at and is it a road test or a track test?
Get a learners permit then befriend a lonely old person who has car and license but no one to do anything with- offer to take them shopping- try not to hit anything.
the constitution does not say you NEED a D.L. it clearly states that YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TRAVEL..many ,many americans don't have their D.L.'S ..b/c they know their right's..and most states are putting the RFID chip into the D.L.'S!!
In NY I think the test requires you do a three point turn, even though I believe that is against the law in NY. The test here is ridiculous, fortunately if you have family in other states you can live with for a couple months not all driving tests are created the same...I got my license while living in Tenn with my parents many years ago-the test there was drive around a huge block, using correct braking and signalling and you pass! YaY, lol. Then move back to NY and transfer license-no test
Hey Sonia, maybe you could barter with someone in your local area...you know, an hours accompanied driving for an hours babysitting, gardening, looking after someones elderly parent, portrait drawing etc. There are lots of things people need that they can't afford, but they may be willing to give some time to help you, thereby helping themselves or their family! We did the same thing about 5 years ago. In our case the driving school car was disqualified as not fit for driving. So we improvised. It also was the 2nd or 3rd try.
passing is very simple sonia, it only requires practice until you got familiar...once your familiar it will be natural, prayer will get you nowhere ofc...

Not that your a bad driver but it just takes at least some practice like riding a bike or playing a piano. not a lot of practice just some. it easy after a little practice.
I love to drive my car, especially when I get away from other people. I do my best meditating while driving to music I like and even though sometimes I end up 2 hours out of my way before I realize I missed where I was supposed to turn, it just gives me more time to drive, so all is well. ;-) Keep trying and go take your test in a more rural area. Less people means less chances of running into something and failing the test.
@tuubydude Nah, I always enjoy looking at the motorcycles. I relate to the feeling of freedom they are feeling on the wide open road since I have a convertible. We usually wave to one another as we pass. :)

Sonia....When I was in Quebec...we rented a zip car ...or similar...and drove out to the countryside for a Francaise Hootenany...lt was tons of fun!....See if your city has these cheap rentals....and keep trying to get a license..or just 'risk' driving without one!

I remember failing my first driving exam because I drove in a country lane in 3rd gear, yeah one of those little lanes with barely enough room for 2 cars to pass & lots of corners & trees stacked either side so you can't see ahead.30mph speed limit, the tosser at the end of the exam said I should have been driving in 4th gear..reason being more ECO friendly..I swear I could have hit that guy, I later found out from others they fail people on the most ridiculous things, it's a total scam racket.

You crack me up (laughing). My sister got her license on 6th attempt and she is good driver now so try get those nerves under control. You could look at electric bike or trikes, some companies like lightfoot cycles do special orders for people in wheelchairs and electric motors these days can propel bikes or trikes for 60 miles or so (depending batteries you get) at speeds up to 20-25mph so that would be far the cheaper option and friendlier to environment.

Try not looking at and talking to the examiner; make it appear that ALL of your attention is focused on your driving and most especially on the road ahead.

Sonia I Am sure You can get Your license, In Oklahoma what Is common sense & what Is on the test r 2 different things You have to know what the book says Not what make sense. I have a big F-150 Truck then I bought a Motorcycle to say gas ect then I received the Oklahoma shit treatment have to have a special license for a Motorcycle & tag cost 4 time more than the Truck. I have to get My drivers license renewed this month Oklahoma dose finger print & face scan a pre mark of the beast but----

Don't wait so long between tests - The longer you wait, the more you'll forget.
I also think it's harder to learn things as you get older.... If you do buy a car sometime, just make sure the coolant has been changed regulary, as bad coolant can cause corrosion inside the engine.

I lost my license for 4 years and had to retake the driving test and when the test was over the instructor asked if i ever had a license before because i was so relaxed. The only bad thing that came out of it all is he made me take the tint off the windows, that pissed me off. Just curious but what are you failing at and is it a road test or a track test?

In NY I think the test requires you do a three point turn, even though I believe that is against the law in NY. The test here is ridiculous, fortunately if you have family in other states you can live with for a couple months not all driving tests are created the same...I got my license while living in Tenn with my parents many years ago-the test there was drive around a huge block, using correct braking and signalling and you pass! YaY, lol. Then move back to NY and transfer license-no test

Hey Sonia, maybe you could barter with someone in your local area...you know, an hours accompanied driving for an hours babysitting, gardening, looking after someones elderly parent, portrait drawing etc. There are lots of things people need that they can't afford, but they may be willing to give some time to help you, thereby helping themselves or their family! We did the same thing about 5 years ago. In our case the driving school car was disqualified as not fit for driving. So we improvised. It also was the 2nd or 3rd try.

Not that your a bad driver but it just takes at least some practice like riding a bike or playing a piano. not a lot of practice just some. it easy after a little practice.

I love to drive my car, especially when I get away from other people. I do my best meditating while driving to music I like and even though sometimes I end up 2 hours out of my way before I realize I missed where I was supposed to turn, it just gives me more time to drive, so all is well. ;-) Keep trying and go take your test in a more rural area. Less people means less chances of running into something and failing the test.
