I did this with " World Expeditions ' about three years ago. After spending many years trekking in the mountains this trek was easily the most magnificent. They don't call it the " Throne room of the mountain Gods" for nothing.
The only downside to this in 2010 (not this year) is that the trek might overlap with Ramadan. I'm not so sure how many Pakistani-based porters, etc. will be willing to go.
Hey, which trekking agency did you go through? Was it a reasonable price, and what was your overall impression of them? Want to do this trek in September. Need advice on who to go through. Thanks!
And let me tell you I do know something about the history of this area and the climbs that can be done there. Did an attempt on Abruzzi Ridge back in 1993.
Is this close to the area described in the book Three Cups of Tea? That road looks like the one described in the book. Great Job!

This looks phenomenal. I'm already getting into shape right now to do the trekking in 2010.
I've checked out a few tour operators (on the net)..
I would certainly like to know which company/guide was used as well....:-)

it was mountain company - Roland Hunter is the guide/leader on the trek & also on the trek itself. Great company!
