You guys see this as trying to show you how bad the conditions are? I see it as proof that our incarceration rate gone up 10 times in ~150 years.

1851- Capacity of 129 people.

2011- Capacity of 1029. But Incarcerate 1300+

I bet 50% of these people are non-violent drug possession offenders. Just more proof on how the war on drugs has failed.

All of us are paying out of our asses for these people to stay here.

Keep the murderers, rapists, pedofiles, and thieves. Therapy for everyone else.

f that place the police are corrupt in that state and beat me up and several occasions then put me in that over crowded place cuz theyll throw you in and you wont get a hearing for months they throw you in kennels what they use to keep the dogs and you sleep on boats on the floor thank god i left that Lancaster my lifes so much better and i dont get beat by police officers

People want to sit here and complain about life in prison. It's not supposed to be a vacation spot. It's not supposed to be a fun place to go and visit the rest of your family that is there. it is supposed to be a place that makes you think about the next time you break the law. And yet peole still keep coming back. Quit breaking the law and hurting other people and you won;t have to come back..The choice is yours.

ive been in there and didnt have a problem wit the co's its only dumb fuckers who think that they are at the boys club of lancaster and try to get over on the co's and other inmates who get fucked up and beat down.

been there..crooked place...summer time is miserably and almost inhumanely hot in the cells, but i wont complain about that aspect, because prison isnt supposed to be comfortable. but i can attest to what skillz4ya2 is saying. cant believe monati is even still there. ive always wanted so bad to catch a CO outside of tose walls when i was released but unfortunately it never happened.

It is true. Lancaster county prison is a very corrupt, foul place. The guards do fuck people up bad in there. Ive seen it too many times. From the food to the heat in the summer there. Its a awful place to spend two years while you await fucking trial!!!!!!!!! In which you plead out anyway.

what they need to do to stop over crowding is to stop locking people up for stupid as shit. that is a fucked up prison i was there.. there are so many deaths/ suicides that happen there that are not even what they seem the CO's beat alot of them and kill them officer monati is one. officer johnson is another.

@tsweigart87 You cant cant even come out about the conditions in there... because the warden is a master in covering EVERYTHING up in there. And it makes your next visit tough.. Cause in Lancaster County----Come on vacation, Leave on probation...... I don't even want to get started on the HOMICIDES committed by the guards..

WOW, they built that new addition on and it's still over crowded? I worked there in the 80's and we always had the down stairs rec area full with inmates on cots..
