  • All days are nights to see till I see thee,

And nights bright days when dreams do show thee me.

  • How would, I say, mine eyes be blessed made

By looking on thee in the living day,

When in dead night thy fair imperfect shade

Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes doth stay!

  • Then thou, whose shadow shadows doth make bright,

How would thy shadow's form form happy show

To the clear day with thy much clearer light,

When to unseeing eyes thy shade shines so!

  • When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see,

    For all the day they view things unrespected;

But when I sleep, in dreams they look on thee,

And darkly bright, are bright in dark directed.

  • awesome!

  • Love it! Al the expressions of the faces

  • I Don't understand :'(

  • crazy? but you have to be a true genius to be that crazy! the best definition of a poem: all about images, rythm and sound

  • aufgemotztes Wilsontheater. Er inszeniert nur mehr sich selbst.

  • @ruzickaw

Noen som aner hva hun/han sier (08.28)? :P

  • Hello everybody! Where I can download this theatre show?

  • Hello what is this part about? Thank you

  • 43. szonett

  • Hi there! I´m from Argentina and I would like to know where these theater group is from? Thnks!!

  • @Milimdp This is the Berliner Ensemble (Berlin, Germany)!

  • This show is praised unanimously all over. Does no one mind the cliches and the literal descriptiveness of several of the theatre tricks? Don't you find it essentially vulgar?

  • @operadiversa

you might have a point there :-) but I think what comes across most directly is the piece's staggering visual beauty and its seamless, well-mastered style, which seems to precede all other aspects of the piece.

  • @operadiversa I think that which you call vulgar can also be seen as a stripping down of traditional narrative and expression to its bare essentials. What is so striking about the performance is that in doing so, it avoids conventional construction of meaning, showing us the uncertain nature of its resources, which, while delivering a glimpse of sublime beauty, are nothing but vulgar contraptions of man themselves, as you point out. The sense this creates is one of joy and crisis.

  • @aguilacuervo Dear friend, this is a very fine response, insightful as well as challenging! Many thanks for that. I may have an afterthought and be back with you.

  • @operadiversa Ah, haha! I'm glad to hear that. I feared you might never even find out I replied to your post. Now I fear you might have received every single write and rewrite of my post in your e-mail as I did yours. This site is lacking an "edit" button, and I sure did a mess of it. Such a pedantic and obsessive scribbler am I. Cheers!

  • @aguilacuervo No, actually got just the last version. Lacks the edit-button but seems to have some common sense, this machine. All best!

So unglaublich schön.

  • Wow! 1000 Dank dafür- damit machst Du riesen Freude!
