About the Jamaica story, MJ was big in Dancehall music too, back in the 80's, he did lead the way for many artists down there who tried to imitate him.

Search for "Shinehead - Billie Jean" on YouTube, this is a good example of 80's Dancehall music. And as you can guess, it's MJ related, so don't worry ^^

Btw, at the very time Mr Jackson passed away, I was paying public tribute to the man with classic MJ Reggae covers. (Shinehead, Derrick Laro, Ken Boothe and many other underrated artists from Jamaica, which btw MJ had visited in 1975 - MJ has made just as much impact there as when Emperor Selassie I visited the island...!!!)

After the show I was told M.J passed away and I just couldn't believe it. I just had spent an hour gloryfying the man, while no one even cared...

I'd love to know why this wasn't released as a single in the UK. All the other singles that were released in the US were also released in the UK. There was a strange gap in the UK between June 1983 (when Wanna Be Startin' Something was released) and November 1983 (when Thriller was released) when no MJ singles were released apart from Say Say Say in October. PYT wasn't released until March 1984.

M.Jackson could hardly gather enough money for the production of his "Thriller" short movie by John Landis !!! ($800k, 1981)

For M.J's "Thriller" LP (1982), three songs (out of nine) had video, so a pretty good ratio considering it was the 80's.
