Elvis movies were, unfortunately, not about acting or plot so you have to take the for what they are...nothing but vehicles for Elvis to sing and romance the ladies. In truth, Elvis could actually act and was Barbara Streisand's first choice for A Star is Born but the Colonel would not allow Elvis to take the part...unfortunate since Elvis had great acting potential

@ensconse Nonsense! All his films...well 90-95% of his films were great! They aren't going to be put in the greatest musicals of all time like Guys and Dolls or My Fair Lady. But they're bloody brilliant, nonetheless!

I guess you mean as light teen musicals they were pretty great but there's about 10 of them he never should have made - in my opinion - Harum Scarum, Clambake, Stay Away Joe (good songs, though), Charro!, Girl Happy, Spinout; Kissin' Cousins & Roustabout had some strengths, but other than the '50s films, Flaming Star, Follow That Dream, Viva Las Vegas, and Tickle Me, it's a very disappointing, unrealized film career.
