  • Thank you... I love, love, love the repetition showing it over and over again!

  • Thank you soo much for making this video! The main reason I've only made scarves is I hate making all those chains and trying to keep it from turning. Plus trying to make a border with that first chain would drive me nuts. Thanks again, now I'm ready to try larger projects and baby items. : ) For those of you who are true beginners, look up the video demonstrated by mikeyssmail; would probably be much easier for you.

  • I wouldn't call myself an expert by any means, but have done a lot of afghans, clothing, and stuff animals over the last fifteen years. Boy do I wish I knew this! For clothing projects, this would have made them so much better! Will still need the regular chain foundation for certain projects, but this is a great thing for the basic knowledge bank;)

  • If this is the first technique someone learns then it's easy.

When learning anything, it takes practice to learn - like driving a car. Or flying an airplane.

    Or crocheting a chain.

I don't crochet very well as far as making anything other than ripple afghans - single crochet all the way. But I am enjoying seeing other stitches so my brain-bank will have deposits just in case I need to make a withdrawal.

    Thank you, crochet.

  • @Marny5580 You are welcome.

  • Excellent video on how to do this and i love your crochet hook is that a cushion around it ?

  • You have no idea how long I have been looking for crocheting tutorials on youtube that I can actually follow without loosing my mind!! Thanks for these videos.

  • waaaay too fast.

  • i love your video's. I wish you would make them of a whole project. I can not make the heel of a sock from a pattern and would pay to see the whole project being made. Please le me know if you have anything like that. I am teaching myself and learning to read a pattern is very trying. Thanks for what you do have. RGC

  • Thank you for showing how to do this, its new to me :)

  • @hippichickdeb You are welcome. :)

  • perfect instructions! I have looked at several other videos and still had no idea how to do this. I am glad you posted this video. Thank you!

  • @Melatina77 You are welcome. I use the Foundation Stitch often since it makes such a nice even foundation.

  • You're going crazy fast... what do you mean when you say "insert the hook under these two loops" ? What loops? I seem to try every combination and it looks a mess.. after going so slow at the slip knot, you speed through the truly hard part (which is getting the darn thing started) and then slow down at what happens AFTER you understand the hard part. WHy?!!! :(

  • @Zarinya This is not a beginner technique and may not be something you should be trying at this time until you become more advanced.

  • @Zarinya oh my gosh I KNOW!! love the videos but DAAang. I feel myself getting incredibly irritable at the "two loops" thing. what two loops! theres a ton of loops lol. I want to make the beanie she does on here but it starts with a foundation chain & I cant figure the dang thing out. and I cant find anything about how to do one anywhere else.I made hats before so I dont think im THAT much of a beginner that I shouldnt be able to understand this. Not to knock your vids tho, you do a great job!

  • When she says "loop," she means (just for further clarity) inserting the needle under the FRONT and BACK parts of the stitch(looks like a heart, going under the whole stitch)..the part of the stitch that is behind those loops, or underneath it (depending on how you're looking at it) is called the HUMP part of the crochet stitch.

  • EXCELLENT! EASY TO FOLLOW!!! :)

  • @myyoyoda Thank you!

  • Thank you very much !!!!!! Very clear and easy to follow

  • Thank you for demonstrating the foundation single (and double) crochet. The slow-mo portion really helps. The only other thing I'd watch out for while making these videos is that the yarn and hook stay onscreen--sometimes they almost disappear during an important moment.

Otherwise, thank you for showing this crocheter how!

  • Thanks a million for this video. I came across this stitch and the written directions in a pattern last night and fought and fumbled for an hour before giving up. This makes perfect sense, is very clear, and I very much appreciate that you did it like 20 times in a row. I feel very confident that I can apply this to my project tonight without having to watch the video again. Nice job!

  • @MsBuggheart I am glad that you got it figured out! I appreciate the comment!

  • thanks for making such a clear and audible video. :) you'd be surprised at some of the garbage out on YT. :)

  • @sassy17 You are welcome! I appreciate the comment!

  • @camcam2499

Check the description. It offers a link to the crochet chain, which is the most basic step. You it appears like you should start there.

Good luck, and have fun! ^_^

  • This video is absolutely helpful! thanks! :)

  • @SkatinAjun Thank you!
