  • Poker, like golf, is always going to be part skill, part chance. It's just the proportions that change depending on the level of the player.

  • things like this really shows how moronic the u.s. government is. hey let's not fix the unemployment rate nor the shitty economy, let's shut down many irrelevant online operations so we can piss off the citizens even more.

  • @bhawks02 ? The reporter said the players won't get their money back as if it were fact. PLSheffield stated that the site he used did pay back their players. The reporters assumption turned out to be wrong. Fox news deserves all the criticism they get anyway.

  • Jesus... they are so misinformed and ignorant on the subject it's ridiculous. I guarantee the DOJ shares the same mindset as these clowns.

  • @thewhiskercat we are mad that instead of regulating poker to stop crooks from scamming us, the government decided to criminalize it. Instead of name calling you should actually do some research on the issue and figure out what happened.

  • Online Gambling?? Are they for real?!?!

  • lol fuck you government bimbo's. there shouldn't even be a government. government = mafia.

  • i got all mine back. Geee I started at 100 and cashed out 197.65 97% increase.

  • us government too much control

  • LOL

  • at the end of the day they can do whatever the fuck they wanna do!!!!!!!!!

  • if the gov cant get their share, then no one can have fun...global mafia

  • Boooooo

  • I'm moving to Russia! Land of the free, home of the brave. Its really sad that it has come to this.

When I think of all the brave veterans who gave and risked their lives for our freedom only to have some flunky politician wash the rights down the toilet.

This all sounds like a precursor to the sex tax.

  • got my money asshole and its not illegal.

  • Awesome video clip! Want to make up to $500 Money day a day? Around Twenty Six Hundred achieved individual users have been applying this method at this time! Check out roulettecash = or)

  • The god damn government cant let you do anything unless they are making money off of it. Its such bullshit that online gambling is illegal.

  • Update: Surprise surprise, Fox Business and Adam Shapiro were wrong. My PokerStars balance was deposited in my bank account 2 weeks ago. I didn't have any funds in Full Tilt or Absolute so I can't comment on them.

  • @PLSheffield They are actually covering the story you fucking ingrate. Guess what? Very few people in the media know the minutia of the online poker laws especially if they get info from government agencies.

  • @gsapp59 I'm confused. So you are telling me NOT to expect Fox Business to know anything about what they are reporting on? And I'm the ingrate for not going along with their ignorant assumptions? Sounds familiar. Did you work for the Bush Administration by chance?

  • @PLSheffield Considering you didn't even try to understand what I wrote originally it wouldn't be worth explaining further. Keep thinking that everyone cares about this issue. Go back to NVG and whine about the PPA. Whine about how people in Congress should be so informed about this one niche issue. Whine about news outlets that provide pro poker coverage. For some reason I believe that you hold others to a much higher standard than yourself.

  • @PLSheffield lolz

  • @PLSheffield lol I was gonna say the same thing to gsapp59 but you owned him. He's obviously one of the braindead sheeple Americans

  • @PLSheffield So you are commenting on a story reported back in April as if they are supposed to know what we know now. Congrats. You are an obnoxious know it all who is singling out Fox. MSNBC and CNN reported these same stories during this time period. Grats on your political bias and close minded nature.

  • @gsapp59 f u f retard

  • @nybombs u mad bro?

  • Step 1. Leagalize, poker, gaming, and drugs. Step 2. Tax them. Step 3. collect 100B+ in extra tax revenues. Why is this so hard?

  • THESE PEOPLE ARE MOTHERFUCKING RETARDED HOLY SHIT this is the first time i watched the news and actually knew the facts and wow now i fucking get why people hate the news so much

  • Oh, I get it. Because the poker sites were accused of fraud, the players won't get their money back? What kind of crap is that.

  • Lol you can all kiss goodbye to your yankee doodle dollars ;)

  • i feel 500% better about my chances of getting my money back from stars now that fox has reported that i won't...those fuckwads get every story completely wrong, lol....btw i'm playing online poker right now from southern indiana and getting awesome rakeback for doing so....i went to wwwlockpoker35com and got an awesome bonus and rakeback deal

  • This has all been induced by Harrahs entertainment.Read Anskypoker

  • second half of this vid is pure nonsense / bullshit.

  • you guys dont know shit about how this all works. just quit reporting on it, and they didn't allow gift cards, and phone cards to be accepted by US players. get your stuff str8.

  • Bunch of idiots who don't understand anything about the poker industry or tax accounting. "You can reduce the amount of money the IRS will tax by reporting your losses as part of your overall itemized deductions. Check out line 28, Other Miscellaneous Deductions, on Schedule A. That's where you report any gambling losses. You can claim up to the total amount of winnings you entered on your 1040, effectively wiping out any taxable gambling income."

  • ITS NOT ILLEGAL!

  • RUSS HAMILTON GOT THE ALGORITHM

  • USA We need to get our shit together

  • There are people that log into these sites just to feel the rush, or throw a bunch of chips around; we call those fish! The rest of us sitting at the table waiting for fish to expose itself are the sharks. This is the poker food chain and the circle of life! Its been said before and Ill say it again; If you think poker has anything to do with gambling you are doing it wrong!

  • @TongueLashin I've heard liberals and progressives make some pretty ridiculous arguments against online poker. They're told poker is a game of skill. It is not pure chance like the lottery or roulette so it shouldn't be subject to the same gambling laws. The liberal or progressive comes back by saying, "That makes poker even worse. The skilled players take advantage of the weaker players and that's not fair. Everyone has an EQUAL chance at the roulette wheel".

    UNBELIEVABLY STUPID ARGUMENT!

  • @PLSheffield yeah thats like saying when in a sport he you run to fast let me criple you first lol

  • Foxnews, uniformed scare tactics ftw!

  • This reporter simply cannot know that, no way to tell at this point what they government will do with money in players accounts.

  • Online POKER! Not Online GAMING..... MORONS

  • @lickitylicks I was just about to write that. Online POKER!!! Not gaming, its not roulette MF!!!!

  • So -- Online Poker and online Gaming aren't the same thing. When you show ppl playing slots behind a guy covering poker, it shows you don't really understand what you are covering. Thanks for that Fox...clueless.

  • to get the US deficit under control, how about you stop going after poker players and actually start doing your jobs like stop giving $3 billion in tax breaks to corporations like G.E. Am I the only one that sees a problem with this?

  • @ctoldo so true and we are also paying the media propaganda suckers:S

  • @ctoldo

exactly, our country is like 14 trillion dollars in debt and poker is there focus right now? it's ridiculous

  • Comment removed

  • this guy is a douchebag

  • yeah zac,,, UIGEA says the banks cannot take money from our accounts and deposit them onto a gambling site. The banks CAN receive funds from a gambling site and deposit into our accounts so there should be no problem getting money back off these sites

Nowhere does it say (clarify) that Poker is online gambling. Truly a skill game with an element of chance......skill players are always going to win longterm. I think the poker sites want their day in court to clear poker. (fraud chg bad tho)

  • There is an argument whether the UIGEA applies to online poker. I don't believe it does because there is no law that labels online poker "unlawful internet gambling" but even if we listen to the DoJ which says the UIGEA does apply to online poker even they don't think playing online poker is illegal and thus you have no risk of getting a knock on the door by the DoJ or the irs and there are thousands of us American poker players who pay our taxes

  • ok just watched the video wanted to clarify to anyone who actually listens to Fox News but there is absolutely no law in the United States that anyone with a brain and legal background will tell you makes it illegal to play online poker in the United States. None.

  • If someone has access to contact info for Adam Shapiro, please let him know I would like to bet him at even odds that US players get their money back. I will probably bet up to his net worth so chance for him to double his net worth :)

  • Surprised we didn't hear about how online gambling leads to thousands of families losing their farm because junior stole daddy's credit card and deposited on Poker Stars. I guess 'they' finally figured out that ruin like that would be quantifiable. 10 to 40 million US citizens have online poker accounts..... if 1% went south, that would be 100,000 families ruined. I hope Frist can name even 1% of THAT total...1,000

OTB, lotteries, booze and tobacco: Screwing more people than OL poker

  • @nMmMmNm What are you trying to say here? that 100,000 families are ruined because their son is a prick? Doesn't sound like PS or the DoJ's problem...

  • @mlkra419 To clarify, I am suggesting that the religious nutheads that rammed UIGEA through cannot name one tenth of 1% of the US poker players that have lost the family farm because of online poker. (1,000 families would be at the minimum since 10 million players is the lowest US player total I have heard). I stated this because one of the most used arguments of the rightwing wingnuts is that "families are losing their family farms due to online poker. I challenge them to name names.
