  • nice mate

  • @tonderai263 Thanks:)

  • i want one of these cars so bad :(

  • @just13lazed These are a blast to drive:) I've driven a stock version and my modded version. The stock is still just as fun to drive and provides a good kick when you punch it!

  • @darkchild57 ohhh i know.. iv been in one ;)

    blew me away..

  • why do ppl keep making these sound clips, honestly. all pancakes sound the same :)

  • I have a bpv in my gti, i never really enjoyed the sound of a BOV tbh... kinda ricey. BPV sounds cleaner

  • @ronkerjake I don't mind BOV's as long as it serves a function. I don't run enough boost to warrant a full BOV. I do like the quieter BPV's.

  • OMFG what a shit!

  • Im fan of SUBARU cars but I have to tell you all I dont like the sound !

  • Is that the aggressive catback?

  • @xSLINKYx It's a 3" diameter turbo back. I'm not too sure what brand since the previous owner had it installed. I bought the car as is.

  • @xSLINKYx

It's the Borla XR-1 CBE (I have the same one on my STi), not the Borla Hush. It is "more aggressive" than the ush, but it's still pretty quiet compared to other catbacks (Perrin, Greddy, HKS, etc)

  • turbo back is a Man's exhaust.

  • my lancer sounds like that stolk and i see u have a sport clutch

  • dude cut your nails

  • DAM i love the sound at the end

  • oh shit u live near south center mall?

  • @tzan94 Actually this is the Northgate parking lot.

  • sounds good, loud ass bov's can get annoying.. lol

  • @xJayFitz Thanks!

  • little cunt.

  • Is this the 2.5 engine?

  • @tsken2k Yes it is:) Thanks for watching!

  • @darkchild57 Thanks for answering!

Do you have any idea if the sound is any different from the 2.0?

Here in Europe we got the ej207 engine on all MY02-05 wrx cars.

  • @tsken2k I don't believe that they would sound any different. We still have the 2.0L and the 2.5L cars over here, they both sound pretty similar. Of course it partly depends on what mods you have on it such as, header, muffler, TBE or CBE, catted or catless... you know the usual.

  • nice

  • @GTRDRUMER Thank you:)

  • take the cat off ot will be louder and sound deeper and better

  • Ok so he mad a lil typo his bad, and no not all factory turbocharged cars have a By-pass valve/ Blow off valves, IE. TDI and all other turbocharged deisel cars, so next time before you hop on you shiny ass Failboat you should prolly actually know what your talking about.... Beautiful soundin Scoob BTW nice and mellow.

  • TheCrackary: LOL,"Failboat"!! I haven't heard that one before:) Thank you for the kind words towards the sound. The exhaust is probably one of the more quiet aftermarket models and it's stock looking. I'm not a huge fan of those long tubes and how they kind of hang a bit lower under the car. I'm not really into overly loud exhausts anymore. Thanks again!

  • great sound

  • kevinTheGame1: Thanks!

  • you shifting to early

  • Cuban4LifeBaby: I was, the car was brand new at the time... I wanted to be a bit more gentle with it, lol! Not anymore now as you can see in my newer vids!

  • i jizzed

  • sorry but unless you post a video of your engine bay you dont have a bov...thats just the intake...nice try tho

  • No worries. It was an original typo anyways. But if you read the video header it does say BPV. Not trying to fool anyone who know their cars. But I should really change the description to match as well...

  • Are you a fucking idiot, the bov doesn't do shit so why would he lie about that? Second of all the car is a turbo charged car from the factory so it comes with a bov off the bat so it obviously has a bov, freaking retards on youtube man.

  • @Dreamevil2009 they come with a bpv dumbass

  • @chamone0725 by pass valve blow off valve same concept.

  • @Dreamevil2009

it comes w/ a bpv from the factory not a bov.

  • @Dreamevil2009 ...no they dont come with bov's. they come with bpv's. but yea i agree most of these kids dont know shit, they should just stick to there civics and fart cans!

  • @Dreamevil2009 its a bypass valve, you indeed are the retard on youtube

  • @Dreamevil2009 1) i thought these had a re-serc valve.

    2) Blow off valve well timed in these can help.

    3) Dont be so agressive talking to noobs.

  • @Dreamevil2009 car comes with a bpv not a bov ;)

  • all turbo cars hav bovs or sum sort factory

    FAIL MAN.

  • what kind of intake you running in that thing? it can't be the stock airbox cause i couldn't even hear it until i bought me the APS CAI.

  • At the time of taping it had an SPT Short Ram with heat shield. Now it has a K&N Short ram w/ heat shield. They both sound about the same. Yup, that intake really lets you hear the BPV without putting a BOV on! Better for the car also since I'm only running 18.4psi.

  • 18.4psi? stock turbo? well, as for me, is sort of weird. right now i am running about 10psi wth? before it was 12 then 14 now, 10psi. i check hoses and they all look good.

  • Yup, 18.4 as measured via Cobb AP with a stage two PDX OTS map. That sucks about you losing boost. Stock STi should have 14.4 I think... Probably should get that looked at.

  • nice sti. im planning to get a sti but if not then i will find a wrx

  • I really hope you can get an Sti, the power delivery is way different stock to stock, and you're going to have wide open smile everytime you punch it! But one thing is I haven't had the chance to drive the new WRX (265hp version). I'm reading that it's just as fast as the Sti.

  • yeah i really hope i can find a good sti =)

  • It is not as fast. The gearing is just different. It hits 60 in 2nd, which isn't possible in our STIs (at least pre-08, then unsure. I've got an 07). The WRX falls short in tranny/braking/cornering/and overall power. But that's why you pay more for the STI.

  • Subarus are The Bomb...I Started Liking Subaru Ever Since NFSU2...Love The Boxer Sound Best Ever...Unique and Original...Other Cars Like Civic Si,Evos,Integras They Be Having Almost To Same Or Similar Sounds To Their Engines...Subaru All Day

  • Yup, gotta love that boxer rumble!

  • beautiful sound.

  • Thank you:) The sound is what turned me onto Subarus at first... after test driving the STi, I had to own one!

  • weirdly enough that's exactly what drew me to Subaru's the awesome sound of that boxer engine.

  • yea nice sound....

  • Thank you:)

  • This sounds GOOOD!!!

  • Thank you:)

  • hello from a another nwester! but i have a 98 obs

  • Whats up:) Doesn't matter what you drive, you're a fellow NWester!

  • its all subaru too

  • Wassap fellow northwester

  • Wassap! Another Northwester:)

Where do you normally roll around?

  • that exhaust sounds niiiiiice.

  • Thank you. I was so happy to find an Sti with the full turbo back installed. One less thing I have to pay for and do!

  • That BOV you think you are hearing is actually your BPV releasing the air back through your intake.

I should post a clip of my what my APS 70mm sounds like, it is damn loud. It almost sounds like an atmospheric BOV.

  • I realize that about a few posts back. Someone else set me straight. It's pretty loud now, I can only imagine what a VTA BOV sounds like. You should post a clip of your ride, I would like to hear it!

  • I agree, the BPV with CAI intake is plenty loud for me. I could even hear a nice blow-off type sound with my stock snorkus removed. I will try to get a video of what my car sounds like.

My friend has an STI with a Turbosmart 50/50, that thing is damn loud. Even at like 5psi the sound it makes is what mine sounds like at 21psi, hah. At full boost you can hear his a block away.

  • Wow, that's pretty loud. I don't think I would be able to live with that all the time. I like to be noticed without over doing it. Does your friend have any issues with driveability, like the car running rich between shifts, with a 50/50? How much boost is it running?

  • PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • It's much louder now after the PDX map reflash and the K&N Typhoon install.

  • ummm thats a by pass valve..bpv

  • lol they all do the same job anyways

  • :) I know that now. Sorry I wasn't too sure of what it was at the time. I had just purchased it.

  • HAHAHA I love the tranny whine, almost sounds like a little dog-box.

  • It does a little bit. I've never driven a turbo'd car that had that loud of a whine. It sound's pretty cool at WOT.

  • Thats not a BOV thats the SPT intake

  • Yep, I just found that out. I didn't think that was a BOV, but some others kept one telling me it was. There was no BOV under the hood anywhere. But I did some research on NASIOC and I feel a bit better informed now.

  • I've got the SPT intake on my STi and I love it sounds awesome

  • I was lucky it was already installed by the previous owner along with a catback or some sort, the Borla exhaust and a flashed ECU... now I just gotta find out what kind of flash he did. I want to marry an AP v.2 but I don't want to waste money if that person already placed a stage 2 onto it.

  • I'm not sure how you would figure that out. He may have just reprogrammed the ECU? It's an easy way to gain about 15hp. You disconnect the battery (only the black cable) hit the brake pedal to drain it and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then reconnect it and drive somewhere only in vacuum (no turbo!) and make it to 3rd gear at about 3000 rpm and gun it so you hold full turbo boost for 5 seconds minimum. It's a simple way to gain some hp and should be done anytime you add anything to the engine

  • Wow I've never heard about that. How does that work? Is it s permanent reprogram? I only say it's flashed because I hooked up an AP to it and it detected a previous install. But the problem is that AP will detect an install regardless of whether it's Cobb or not. Now they can't get ahold of the previous owner and I'm stuck wonder if I should override the map or sell the AP...aarrggghhh!!

  • I just reprogrammed mine 2 days ago and it does actually work. I just had the SPT intake installed and so I was forced to reprogram it due to the engine running way too rich. It's a good way to get some extra hp and people usually do it every couple thousand miles because the car eventually tunes itself down

  • nice sounding exhaust, that camera doesnt do the BOV justice, its much louder in your cab.. I know, ive heard it :)

  • I finally did some more research and it's not a BOV. It's the sound that's made from the intake. And I have a bypass valve apparently (someone correct me if I'm wrong), that vents partially to atmosphere and recirculates the rest. Thanks for looking!

  • Thanks for the nice commments man. You have a legend of a car. The EJ25DET is the sickes sounding 4 cylinder in the world, without agressive cams. I have a MR2 BUT I have been thinking about building a track 99 2.5RS swapped with the USDM EJ25, with tig welded seams, and heavily modded suspension. Treat that car well a,d wind it out on the track and take some vids. PEACE

  • Thanks for the kind words. Those 2.5L turbos have a very addicting sound. That's what turned me onto buying my first Subaru. This is the second. A '99 sti swap would be real sick. I think you would be able to dominate the track easily!

  • It's the flat boxer style engine subaru puts in their cars that gives it the most addicting sound
