  • looks like a nice shoe buckle.

  • I'm surprised you're not more excited when you find these old coins.

  • @thEannoyingE Its always nice to find the old coins, im still waiting to find my first hammy and then i will jump for joy, I have a good collection but unfortunately most of them are in poor condition, thanks for watching

  • That's an incredible Mercury badge you found there, looks like it's enamel(paint) I'm so jealous, look's to be 1930's Era. :D Where do you usually go in wales when you hunt?

  • @thEannoyingE Yeah the badge was a great find, its from the 1950s, we hunt around the south west wales area, thanks for your comments

  • @desasta wow, very nice, it's in great shape :) No problem :D

  • Hi desasta, really enjoyable video, mate, some very nice finds and that square georgian buckle is a cracking find. Good luck for your next hunt, all the best, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz Yeah the buckle was one of my favourite finds of the day, iv found a few others since and i will be uploading another video soon from today's hunt, bast of luck and thanks for watching

  • Great video, i know of a family of Heslop's who still live in the Newcastle Emlyn area.

  • @Thetellurianvortex Wow that's interesting!, i didnt think heslop had any relatives around these parts at all? Thanks for your comments

  • What a super hunt with some quite awesome finds. Those coins have a beautiful patina and it's always good to find those of Victoria. That square buckle is a beauty and should clean up very nicely. Nice to hear about the last unfortunate Welsh duelist. I always thought that if someone turns and fires before the count, the seconds of the dead man can shoot the other man for his ungentlemanly conduct. Thanks for sharing and Good hunting when you return to that wonderful site :D

  • @fluoridekid I love the old coins but i wish i was a little more clued up on them, i do have a good collection of coins and i might even have some rare one's, the buckle did clean up ok but the pin came lose which is a shame, thanks for watching

  • @desasta One of the very best ways to find out what types of coins are out there, and those more likely to be found in any given area, it's to buy a copy of Spink's Coins of England & The United Kingdom with over 500 pages of text and thousands of photographs of the coins themselves. Having said this, there are an amazing number of websites concerned with coins and their histories, and all for free. If you'd like some sites, I'll gladly let you have them :D

  • @fluoridekid Im looking into getting that book very soon but in the meantime If you could send any information then i would be very grateful, many thanks

  • A cool bit of history, very nice looking buckle at 17:00.

Good luck for next time matey!!!.

  • @OLDGOLD1100 Thanks matey, its one of the better ones iv found so far, HH

  • Some nice coins come up there, did like the shoe buckle with the patterns on it, nice, till the next hunt. c ya .

  • @magpie307 Yep was a good day's hunt, looking forward to the next

  • great vid... some nice finds... well done!!!

  • @eyediggit2 Thanks for watching

  • Nice finds Desasta. I do believe the 1877 Penny you found is in fact a very rare variety. I would get it checked out, because my book suggests it to be an Obverse 8 Reverse H Penny, valued at £1200 in fine

  • @CoinageBritannia Im not to clued up on the details of these coins im afraid, i have seen a few H penny's that have the H in the middle of the year, im really not sure what the obverse 8 Reverse H means? any help would be greatly appreciated though, many thanks

  • @desasta Essentially all those with an physical 'H' mint mark below the date indicates that the coin was minted at the Heaton mint. Unfortunately to the nature of Victoria's reign there are 8 different obverse varieties and 12 different reverses. Before you clean it, take it to a coin dealer, and ask whether or not this is an Obverse 8 reverse H penny, because the only other variety for that year is worth £2, a long shot from the scarcity of a £1200 specimen. (I'm referring to Spinks Coin book)

  • @CoinageBritannia I have been doing a bit of my own research and it seems that the penny i have has none of the rare characteristics, im pretty sure there is no H below the date and nothing else stands out.

  • @desasta You misunderstand me. There are coins of victoria that possess an 'H' mint mark referring to the Heaton mint, however Spinks coin catalogue refers to several different reverse designs that they categorise with a letter, it just so happens that this reverse 'H' coincides with the possibility of a Heaton mark being on the coin. Simply I am referring to the latter statement. In my opinion your coin is a rare variety, designated in Spinks as (Obverse 8, Reverse H)

  • @CoinageBritannia This is the term dealers recognise. Hopefully this has clarified things for you (Ignore the Heaton mint mark idea)

  • @CoinageBritannia Thanks for information and i will look further into it, If i find out any more info the coin then i will be sure to post, in the meantime if you have any websites that might be of any help to me then that would great!, again thanks for your help

  • Nice, I found a 1915 penny like yours but only in Connecticut.

  • @BlueShuckle2 i do find a lot of half penny's from the 1900s, this site was pretty good and gave some older coins in better condition than usual, thanks for watching
