@creed455 G'day, sorry to hear you have a black spot on your blade. If i was you i would be taking right back for a refund or replacement that is to say as long as it is straight out of the box/ brand new. If you used it and hit it against something then there is no way to replace the bulb. The only option you have then is to pay for it to be converted by someone like ultrasabers. Good luck

the bad part is that the blade will have a lot of smudge marks and such but its not noticeable in the dark

if you're worried about denting, i dont think they will dent...or at least mine havent

@iceburg008 I only have 1 forcefx saber, and its the anakin episode 3 saber, and its from master replicas. Its awesome, and I have had it for about 3 years now. I has been battered into things when I am showing it off for the sound effects to people, and I have let my cousins kids have a bit of a play and it all still works fine, I have never had any trouble with the sound at all.

Plus its great on battery life.

The curved hilt of the lightsaber is probably my favorite design in any Star Wars blade's hilt. And as several have stated, it is the most formidable in blade-to-blade combat, as enacted upon by both Dooku and Bane (favorite character). If you read the Darth Bane trilogy, in fact, there are several instances where he expands on the fluidity and advantages to having a curved hilt as opposed to the traditional.

@KOTOR8898 Actually Obi-Wan keeps the same lightsaber design and styling into Ep II, until it is lost when he's captured on Geonosis. If you watch the fight between Jango and Kenobi, when the lightsaber narrowly misses his force-grab, it focuses in and shows that it is, in fact, that same hilt from EP 1.

I've heard rumors about a year ago (when Dooku's wasn't even made) that Dooku's would be made. Never knew they'd actually do it.. Impressive.. Most impressive. I have a curved bronze hilt with a green Lux III LED; but this one beats mine.

Quite a lovely lightsaber. Someone once asked me why Count Dooku has a curved lightsaber. At the time i couldn't answer her but now i can: The basic idea stems back to the style of fighting that he uses: Makashi, which in essence is a very flashy and stylistic style. A style that came about specifically to combat others. The general style of the saber technic is to wear down your oppent and cause them to make a mistake first, as seem in the first fight with anikian. Very awesome saber

To expand on this, Dooku's style requires very precise and tight movements. Rather than large swipes and slashes he uses flicks and thrusts, which rely on precision and fluidity. The curved hilt fits in the palm better and makes it easier for Dooku to fight in that style. It also has the advantage of attacking at an off angle, making it difficult to defend against.. Its probably the closest lightsaber combat comes to the classic swordfight that inspired the weapons.

I work with the guy who did all the custom lightsaber work on the last two SW shot in Oz, Thomas Van did some lovely work and I think he's featured in a special feature on the DVD's

He did try to publish a book on his works and the known history of the design of the lightsaber,but it was refused permission by publishers as they felt it has a very limited appeal as a book.

Im a bit ticked since Master Replicas said this was impossible to make (Did we believe them? Nope) But im also ticked Hasbro picked up the license because despite having a broader customer base they have recreated the same sabers that MR did & at the same price but the usual low quality that is Hasbro. Hasbro should have let EFX do these. EFX wouldve doine a much better job at the same price

Well in all fairness, what we saw on screen wasn't real. So in a way yeah, we imagined it. But, MR did lie, and I knew it at the time. They knew they were sinking and didn't want to make it. Simple as that. Just too bad Hasbro had to make it. I haven't seen one, but I'm pretty sure Hasbro's is extremely low quality. That's their MO. But MAYBE I'll be surprised if ever I get my hands on one.

For $150 i'd be pretty pissed if it was low quality. Impossible to tell quality from the video but it looks pretty decent. When i get one i most defiantly will NOT be using it for dueling (got my custom for that) but it would be quite nice to pose and cosplay with it Yeah?

The "big metal spike" on dookus lightsaber is actually a blade guard :)

No idea why you'd need it, incase I guess... If some one accidentally touches your lightsaber the guard will prevent nasty scratches, or more logically, hand decapitation... lol!!! Awesome review!!!
