  • If that guy came up to me with a wallet I would have just said it was mine and walked off with it. I would decided whether I would hand it in at the police station after I had taken a look through it, and decided whether or not I would pocket the $700!

  • I go to that School. It's Cal State Hayward back then. Today it's Cal State East Bay.

  • hahahaha the problem at the very end fucked me.

total bullshit, and i fell for it

  • 00:00 best. 1:00 bestest

  • I think people should learn engineering notation because it is such an easy way to understand incredibly large and incredibly small numbers. The reason why it is so easy is because there is a SI notation associated with every 3rd place value. A 4700uF capacitor is really a 4.7mF capacitor but more often referred to as a fourty-seven hundred micro farad capacitor. On the other side, $14.3 Trillion in debt is like $14,300 Billion or $14,300,000 Million or $14,300,000,000 Thousand in debt.

  • Professor, y u say hwhy!?

  • holy shit! I didn't pick 22 48 and 61.

  • I have to credit this show, George Carlin and two lecturers for helping me to think more critically.

  • 2, 23, 62

  • o my god. i got the right numbers! this made my whole day

  • 19, 44, 56. No more than 5 out on each.

  • 9 45 22!!! I got 1 and close to 45

  • Fuck!!!!! I picked 22 48 12

  • i got 23 62 and 12... close

  • lol i got the 61..... other 2 are pretty far off.... did i win? i love penn and teller. god bless em. cheers:)

  • I loved the finale.

  • lol. If it happens to u. U said shit and flip the bird XD

  • 4 8 15 16 23 42

  • 13, 28, 5

  • WTF? If they only spend 23 bucks a day on me why in the fuck do I pave 7 times that in income tax?

  • @HartAHart Because many people pay nothing. In fact, a significant percentage pay NO federal income tax. With tax credits, some households actually get more back than what they pay in. Progressive tax codes are great, but there's too much of a good thing is bad. This one percent the protesters like to claim do not pay their fair share pay nearly 40 percent of all tax revenues the federal government collects.

  • I picked 22 61 and 66. Now I need to think if I actually saw this episode before, years ago.

  • Funny at 1:16 you see them estimate in 2015 we will have a 14 trillion dollar debt. Right on schedu...er... wait, its the end of 2011 and we are already to 15 trillion. Crap.

  • @jijacob Obama's utter insanity has skewered all the projections.

  • Fuck So close, 21, 44, 69 hehe 69

  • 1,2,3. I always pick the first ones just to fuck with people who dont understand this shirt.

  • @teamorangeapple and if they come up it'll be worth it. SOOOOOOO worth it.

  • @Slobezero Also, I won't have to share it with anyone because nobody else chooses them!

  • Well except all of us now.

  • What are we at now? 14, 15 trillion?

  • @kludgedup 13.8 through fiscal 2011-12, but as this episode shows, that number may be bullshit.

  • 8, 48, 69

    I got 1/3

  • 5 trillion. Talk about the good ol days.

  • 7:32 ODDS THAT THIS GUY pronounces it "COOL-HA-WHIP"?

  • Wooohooooo I had them all right 22, 48, 61!!! I win the lottery

  • The national debt was at 5 trillion? :O That's so low compared to where we are now.

    God damn it america!

  • 9, 17, 61 lol

  • 4,8,15,16,23,42

  • 16 23 and 54 ...

  • Bullshit is bullshit. Tautology always makes sense.

  • Party Animals LOL XD

  • 4 28 62

  • I WON !!! No I lie, my numbers were 68,69,70

  • 41 68 and 53 none right :(

  • That's very obviously a prop wallet.

  • 22,48 and 6. But then I am an electrical engineer who took 2 advanced courses in probability so I know this was pure coincidence.

  • 23, 42 and 66 - damn lol

  • I picked my nose.

  • @superhamzah85 omg. So did I.

  • i picked 2, 34, 69

  • I picked 48, 53 and 29. Yay! I got one right! :D

  • I picked 22, 61 and 9. I nearly had a frigging heart attack. :D

  • Lol damn I matched one number! ;-D

  • i still wanna know if teller actually ate a cockroach, but i'm probably way too trusting to even think he could have... right?

  • @amn3h23h2 He's one of the best sleight of hand magicians on the planet... there's no way he ate a cockroach... just made it look like he did.

  • @amn3h23h2 He ate a live cockroach on Fear Factor. And he wasn't even the one being challenged to do it. I think Teller is just indifferent about that stuff.

  • @cyanmanta or he faked it. He is a magician after all

  • I matched 1 number! What do I win? lol...

  • ""20% goes to non defense"""

    BULLSHIT.

Are you saying 20% goes to not defending the country? what the fuck is that suposed to mean, that makes no sense. Thats like me saying 10% of my sallery goes to non food.

Sure, but no one cares what it doesnt go to, people care what it does go to.

  • @gulbirk wouldnt 80% go to non defense because everything that isnt defending the country considered non defense???

  • @aortizisawsome Probably, LOL. :)

I have no clue. I just think it sounds silly to say ""20% goes to non defense"". Because it sounds like the goverment takes 20% of the money and says ""This will not be used to defend our country"" and then flush it down the toilet or something.

  • @gulbirk BULLSHIT

  • @gulbirk LOL. Non-defence spending is spending on defence that's NON millitary... such as, in America, the FBI, counter-terrorism spending and the Dept of homeland security.

  • What if he looked in the envelope?

  • "I like celene Dion" - "That's our idiot!"

  • 0% of viewers needed the cockroaches-thing explained

  • i got one of the numbers right :D wrong order tho

  • I chose 26, 56, 61

  • Damn, the national debt is now over 14 trillion!

  • @Pepsifx357 Or is it.

  • In the end, I like how Teller just stands there.

  • i got one of the numbers 48, 21 on the second, i need to play lottery more

  • 18-34-61. The odds of guessing the last number in the correct order 1 in 18,246.6

  • 18-34-61

  • 0:10

"Robert Macintyre, director of thitzens for tax justhice"

  • This episode confused the hell out of me. I feel like such an utter dumbass.

    God I hate math...

  • @StatisticalPower Except a percentage of 0 is statistically impossible, it will really just be a small percentage much less than 1.

  • @StatisticalPower that's impossible due to the fact that since theres already 97 ppl liking there has to be a percentage greater than 0 :D

  • lmfao say shit and flip the bird!

  • 36-12-8 FUCK !!!!!!!!

  • 1-13-42 Fuck!!!

  • who did it?! which one of you sorry mother fuckers hit dislike!?

  • 22 - 41 - 66...FUCK!!!

  • 22 - 48 - 72 AWAWWAWAWWWWW!!!!!

  • 22-31-56...damn

  • 4 8 15...16....

  • 21 3 10 I was close on the first one

  • i wanna try and scam my brother a little

  • What do I think the national debt is? $14.1 trillion. Add both those guesses up and you get pretty close haha

  • what's an n&n? lol

  • 1,2,3 lmao

  • @markod2002 I guessed 1,2,3 too because any "random" guessed numbers aren't *random* because humans like patterns and order. I thought they'd do a segment on that but no, just basic probability.

  • 17, 36,48 , got one of them :D

  • 27, 6, 58. Lololol.

  • god i fucking love this show!!!!

  • 62, 88, 93 :P

  • I love how in this episode the topic (numbers) isnt even what they are trying to prove is bullsht, It turns out they were trying to prove Bullsht is bullsht! Lol

  • @Masternayan117 Crap, you made a dislike!

    :(

  • @Masternayan117 Bullshit! It'll be an awesome video if it's awesome, not if it has a lot of likes.

  • @Masternayan117 98% now. Still not bad :D

  • @Masternayan117

    FUCK YOU FRANK!!

  • @MrMooseheadbeer I think you mean "we're better than you"

  • @MrMooseheadbeer Sounds more like an attitude from a US citizen to me.

  • @MrMooseheadbeer It was a joke about Celine. Calm the fuck down.

  • 17 34 2

  • 35, 16, 61

  • If the guy in the baseball hat was less greedy....

  • this is their worst episode ever.

  • @boagshoags I think this is a brilliant episode. it shows important things to consider when reading a interpreting numbers and stats.

  • @ltshinta It's all so obvious though. And i was completely put off by their very first trick, which took them 3 minutes to do and showed nothing. If someone couldn't see what they were doing there, then... meh.

  • i kpoe that guy got his money back :)

  • Great episode... and the Celine bashing is just icing on the cake! Thanks for posting.

  • 10 27 9

  • 22 45 56 i was pretty close XD

  • 11,62,29

  • 3, 21, 19

  • penn and teller are bullshit irresponsible idiots...engineers use numbers to calculate stress factor to built buildings n sky scrapper...any mistake in these numbers can cause a collapsed.penn n teller said second hand smoking is bullshit...they r fucking bull shit idiots.y do ppl want to listen to idiots explaining science, when they are scientists...dun talk bout all these, go get ur phd first be4 u start calling ppl bullshit.penn n teller r irresponsible stupid faggot.who do things for money

  • @radicalteh- Penn and Teller are dealing with statistics in this episode, not physics. Think first before trolling.

  • @underpantssquirrel why the hell would i say physics? why did they ask a professor in sociology to talk about statistic, shouldn't they ask a prof in statistic...think first before trolling.

  • @radicalteh - Engineers use numbers to calculate stress factors in buildings, but that's physics and it doesn't really apply to this episode.

This episode is more concerned with statistics and financial matters. Sociologists deal with statistics; it's something they use to develop their research.

    Does that help?

  • 29, 48, 14

  • i put 5, 27 and 36. Wrong, wrong and wrong.

  • at 7:30 i realised that i do that in maths, but whenever i do it, the teachers and everyone else tries to shun it.

  • though these guys speak the truth and expose BS and idiocy there are very biased, I mean they make no attempt to hide their libertarian views.

And a guy from the cato institute? big surprise lol

  • @tiki2188 They need to do the show: "Political parties are Bullshit"

  • @tiki2188 Cool i can read wiki too

  • @tiki2188 They say in an episodes "We are biased as fuck.. But at least we're being honest." :D

  • Shiiiit I put 22 48 and 5 lol I flipped out lol

  • I'm gonna try con someone later on see if it works.

  • Isn't the first strategy at 5:22 just the 'gambler's fallacy'?

  • Any time anyone inundates you with facts like that you should know that there's some trick at play.

  • i got 22 if thats worth it penn, but of course its fucking not :(

  • lol, hopper

  • dosnt matter what math says....just what we say....ok

  • wait they say no to a free wallet?

  • wow the national debt looks SOOO beatiful and ideal in this vid. lol. it's increased by about 8 trillion
