haha,loved that comment about SY.They really turned to crud after Daydream Nation (with the exception of Goo).Good album though it is, I can't stand Kim Gordon's NY artbint bleating.

I am from Australia, and love these guys. I only got to see them once at Fuji Rock.... Can anyone (nihonjin?!) tell me the if the band member formed any other groups??... or were they already part of other bands??

After Supercar broke up,they began music activities saparately.

vocalist Koji Nakamura is working under the name of ILL. He already has released three albums.

guitarist Junji Ishiwatari is working as producer ,lyricist,and writer. He produced Chatmonchy ,9mm Parabellum bullet,and more japanese band.

bass guitarist Miki Furukawa works as a solo musician. She has released two albums.

drummer Kodai Tazawa formes a group by the name of aM.

They are all on MySpace except for Ishiwatari.

I see an aesthetic resemblance but that's about it. Their sounds are almost entirely different. Sonic Youth just produces trashy garage band music. I'd have to call bullshit if you say wanna be, seeing as Supercar were musical geniuses in their simplicity. Even comparing the line-up, Supercar is more charming. (Miki isn't the best singer but she's definitely more talented than Kim, she's also much better looking too.)

Well said, and I'm not sure. I recently found out about Supercar and find them pretty damn original because I can't compare all their work to a single band, only certain works. Some things sound like shoegaze, some sound techno... Honestly, they hop around a lot with what they do, but not too far.

they are nothing like U2 believe me. i love U2 but this band is totally different and actually better than U2. listen to songs like lucky or white surf style 5 or wonderword or even storywriter and i guarantee you will change your mind.
