  • looks like the real one that landed at holloman, snicker snicker, cant talk about it

  • Hey dave i got an awesome little jet for you too try from banana hobby its the 4 CH 2.4GHz BlitzRCWorks Mini FA/18E Super Hornet you should give it a shot maybe help people who fly one get it to fly even better. for me as a begginer to the ducted fan jets i love it. very quick

  • DAMN NOT TRYING TO FLOOD YOU WITH COMMENTS LOL! I ALSO JUST WANTED TO SAY MY PREVIOUS STATEMENT WASN'T A SHOT AT YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL LEVEL EITHER. IM SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING... JUST HAVE DEALT WITH MANY UPSET CUSTOMERS OF THEIRS! KEEP UP THE VIDS.

  • @dogcrick Thanks for your comments. Well, Im not sponsored by anybody and learn the hard way like all of us. Thats why I make vids, so you dont have to make the same mistakes.

But in all fairness, those companies you mentioned are only DISTRIBUTORS. They get sold junk and it takes guys like me to help them learn about the unforeseen problems.

New MQ-9s are braced better now, and it is because I was first to informed NP of this problem before they went on the market. Thanks.

  • ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, I'D LIKE TO SAY YOU SHOT A PRETTY COOL VIDEO THOUGH..!

  • @dogcrick Thank you.

  • NO OFFENSE BUT IT BROKE BECAUSE ITS FROM "NITRO PLANES". UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT KNOWN FOR THEIR "QUALITY" I'M NOT BASHING THEM OR YOUR DECISION TO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. I'M JUST STATING WHAT I HAVE LEARNED OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AS AN AVID RC ENTHUSIAST AND FROM SPENDING LONG HOURS WORKING IN A HOBBY SHOP DEALING WITH PRODUCTS GOOD AND BAD FROM MANY DIFFERENT COMPANIES, ONLINE AND IN HOUSE. I HAVE LEARNED THAT QUALITY COST MORE. BANANA HOBBIES, HOBBYKING AND NITRO PLANES = UPSET CUSTOMER..

  • @dogcrick How can you put nitroplanes in the same category as hobbyking? Nitroplanes at least has a phone number and will gladly take back defective items. I have even canceled an order the day it was supposed to ship and they were good about it. HK seems to rely on the hope that customers will just get frustrated and go away after they get the runaround for weeks. BTW this model is EXCELLENT quality and the problem Dave had was with a pre-production version sent to him for evaluation.

  • you have the coolist music for your videos were do you get it?

  • @iaeg7 It's a muzak version of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust". You may be the first person in the world to consider muzak to be "cool"....

  • @theimacman by cool i ment funny

  • Just to clarify, the one I bought from NP now ships with a solid carbon rod. I know yours was one of the very early models and they probably had not realized the shortcomings of the aluminum spar. Mine had an aluminum tube glued into the fuse that the carbon rod fits into. I plan on flying mine with a massive AUW of about 5lbs. I will gladly report back with my results after I get a good weather window for the maiden. That should inspire confidence in the new wing spar methinks.....

  • @catamaranman333 Yes, they replaced it with CF rod after I reported to them the problem. This was before they went on the market. And in all fairness, Nitroplanes took my advice and had it fixed, as you know. This was 2007, too and in reality, they are only Distributors not manufacturers, and easily can get sold a bill of goods, like everybody usually does. I hope to just help folks by my mistakes. Mix your aileron and rudder and you will have no problem turning. Thanks.

  • @NightFlyyer Thanks, Dave. Apparently the autopilot does not "like" mixes that aren't done on board the AP itself. I think my solution is to learn to use it on a scratchbuild with elevons only, then in the skywalker, and finally on the MQ-9. Thanks for the response and again for the great videos!

  • I have to say, I've got one strong wing on mine now! ;-) I am a little worried that this might not be the best craft in which to install my new autopilot. The tuning of the AP is tricky to say the least and the fact that you are reporting that it does not turn well without the rudder does not bode well. Teaching the autopilot to make a coordinated turn might not be the easiest thing to do on the maiden flight of both the AP and the beautiful Reaper.

  • Hi Dave, Happy New Year Sir. Sorry about the crash. Glad to see you repaired it. I do have one question if I may: how do you get your onboard video from not being wavy ? Mine always looks like I'm filming underwater ! I have a Flycamone2 , and a Sony Webbie HD 1080i both do the same thing. Any help would be great. Tks in advance. Joey.

  • Personally, it just doesn't look like it's designed for that amount of wing loading

  • I almost bought one of these "larger" reaper planes, but I'm glad I didn't. Not knowing about the "weak" wing tube could have spelled trouble...I suppose for anyone who bought it.

    Thanks for the video Dave:D

  • Im sorry dave but that makes me feel better ! now I know that Im not the only one that can crash . the only thing is I seem to destroy things almost beyond repair . like my trex 500 the motor and esc maid it out of the crash still working

  • another one bites the dust .

  • Well that's sucks... But hey, you did a great repair job. With surface area like that, you'd expect stuff like this to happen to this plane. Nice video tho.

  • Thats a shame. what happend to the guanli

A10 that day? you should throw a vid together.

  • The crash was horrendous !!

  • Duct tape fixes everything!!

  • nitroplanes quality i see :)

  • hey

can u make a video showing the best ways to put a camera on your planes and what to check and everything like the cg and best angles

    i have a grand cruiser

  • Sorry about you mq9 reaper crashing and how many steps it took to build

  • I like your attitude, even after a crash like that. There's a lot of patience there. Good job on the rebuild!

  • where did you bought it??

  • @CyberPilot360 You mean: where did you buy it.

  • @TheEpicOne007 oops yes

  • @TheEpicOne007 correcting people's english on youtube could be a full time job. why bother? lol

  • I have a question, as you may or may not remember i got a reaper as well. Im still building it slowly day by day. How did you get the rudder and elevator rods ''not'' to touch when moving. Your looked all bent and crooked so it never touched. But no matter how i bend mine it never goes like yours....mhhhh, the repair job looks fantastic to....hard to tell from most distances

  • Do you have a video of the A-10

  • im sorry your A10 Warhog died to Man that must be a Sweet Bird to fly..a Real one saved me and some Friends from a nasty Tank a few years back it was just Pure love at first sight with her..

  • As always, thank you for sharing.. it would be great if you can also load how you repair step by step. It is always amazing to see how you come up with idea of how to repair all things.. :)

  • how do you make your music?

  • Yeah like you said in the other video that aluminum rod is the weak link in those wings and it should be carbon fiber. On a side note what happen to the A-10? Looked to me like the tail broke or came loose. I remember when you reviewed the A-10 and I still like the look of that one.

  • I have a couple of planes with skinny wide-wingspan wings that flex. It makes flying straight and level the only option, takes away the fun.

  • Is this plane the same size as the military uses? I never like those UAV's but after watching you fly one, I think I'll take a second look at them! AWESOME!

  • Thanks for posting this... great vid, even with the wing folding... :)

  • Great vids dave hey ive started to get adverts on my you tube channel now dave cool i wonder how much you get paid ? anyhow i do not care because i do this for fun but if ya get paid at the same time all the better thanks dave you are a hero ,,

  • @colscopters you tube money is not a lot- I have about 7400 views and have made like $6- so like you said I do it for fun- but someday they will send us a hundred bucks(they wont pay til they owe you $100)-keep posting- and yet I now monetize every video- like it matters- lol

good video on reaper crash- sorry it happened-glad it flies again.

  • i just seen a vid with the same issue .. seems like they do that . great vid . i remember watching the build vid .

  • The hidden side of RC flight... it's never a questions of if, but of when your next crash will happen. Another lesson learned. Don't they sell RC planes made of the material they make "black boxes" with? ;-) Thank you again for yet another great video.

  • Appropriate music Dave!

  • Thanks for this, I was wondering.

  • OHHH NOOO!
