I'm saving like crazy to get a huge down on a house on a 1/2 to 1 acre. Then I'll trade this condo (which I paid off last year) in for my dream home. If I can do it mortgage free, that would be great! Then I can start applying what I've been learning. Can't wait!
@124php The music is by Anima Mundi, who also are the same people who put this course on and were kind enough to invite me over to teach with them, thanks for your kind comments, nice that some people at least 'get it'!
Perhaps the people who are so keen on dissing the soundtrack to this film should read earlier comments in the thread in order to gain an understanding of why its use appropriate before jumping so quickly to judgement - or even read the lyrics in the info box?
Hi nbayiha and docrw, What this person is thinking is that the music is made by the people who convened and co-taught the course, as the discussion between myself and Khat explains below, in that sense it feels appropriate as a soundtrack, especially as the song is about permaculture, cheers Graham
i love the video and the soundtrack - but was so blessed by the exchange between Khat & quercusrobur - in a time where most online banter soon becomes base and fulll of expletives both of you showed what it means to share an ethic like permaculture - a pleasant mature and inspiring exchange xxx thank you - my faith is boosted xxx
AWESOME! I've been wanting to visit this place for a long time. Where's Monica? GREAT SONG, I was a prolonged FATM fan and I stumbled over Anima Mundi on the mercyground website so, I bought the CD.. LOVE IT!
This music and thoughts of permaculture are a bit hard to swallow. I know that the band's message is righteous, although I had a difficult time watching the video with the sound on. Sorry, but it made me want to bolt from the whole idea. Perhaps something a bit more soothing to the ear? I like punk but it wasn't complimentary to the subject at hand. Maybe I'm getting too be an old fart. Never mind me, I just wanted to be truthful about how it made me feel. I may not be alone.
Hi Khataroo, sorry you didn't like the music, but as the members of the band concieved of, convened, taught on, catered for, did the sh*t work for this 2 week course, as well as actually living at one of the featured projects, it seemed pretty apppropriate to use their song as a soundtrack. Don't forget that permaculture is about a diversity of approaches, so why should a noisy punk song be any less appropriate than something 'soothing to the ear' as a soundtrack?
Sorry, ran out of words there... If you check out Anima Mundi's website (or the lyrics in the 'more info' box) you'll see that the band are consciously aiming to raise awareness and outreach about permaculture and the like to radical activists who might not otherwise be exposed to such ideas. Punk might not be everybodies cup of tea in a permaculture context, but there are plenty of 'soothing to the ear' PC videos about as well, indeed I've made a couple myself if you check out my profile!
I feel that I owe you the apology here. I was being closed minded and non-diverse and I really appreciate you bringing this to light for me. If I wasn't into the "punk mode" at the time I was listening, I could have just used my volume button. I mean no disrespect to the band who gave of their talent, time and enthusiasm for such a wonderful event. Please accept my sincerest apologies and thank you for sharing such a wonderful subject. With warm regards, Khat
Hi Khataroo - no apologies necessary, we all have different 'takes' on permaculture and what it means, I have to also say asa person that co-taught on this course that the Anima Mundi/Ars Terra folks were really great people to work and stay with, but even William (Anima mundi vocalist) remarked "Great video, shame about the soundtrack!"
Woa, those permaculture women are hot.
