Back when games were actually challenging and completing them would give u a sense of accomplishment as opposed to games today where completing fully requires u to do something completely unrelated.
@RyRyBassline It's not like that, man. It's gamers' attitude that has changed. Back in these days, hacking, boosting, was never thought and was meaningless. Now it is almost like a sense of pride, if you hack you're a boss. Gameplay nowadays still provides some deep and complicated challenges, but gamers' first instinct is to look for the easiest path. Back in the 90's, our first instinct was to spend countless hours towards achievement. And we despized cheating :)
@escrete20000 Obviously i agree with what u say 100%! All i'm pointing out is that the majority of games now require you to do different things which don't necessarily have anything to do with the main plot. Its probably to make up for these "countless hours" that a retro gamer would of actually put into a game.
Yuzo Koshiro makes music that dreams are made of. If this song were a person, I would have a shotgun wedding with it<3 I want it now! Thank you for the post XXXO
@9mmPrince AND that not only is his music LEGENDARY but it is a gazillion times better than the SONGS coming out these days brother!! this soundtrack puts the music of nowadays to shame haha :-D
So, I had my computer on random and I turned it up because there was a good song. Near the end I had to take a crap so I did, and conveniently the comp was near.
Imagine the most energetic poop experience ever because THIS SONG CAME ON. LOL. I was like dancing on the toilet.
For some strange reason, there is something very sentimental and very emotional in that cool dramatic way of this song. Like taking a trip to the airport and boarding your flight.
@Renegade466isback I like Gunstar Heroes, soundtrack included, but it didn't strike a chord with me like this soundtrack did. Awesome game, though! Earthworm Jim had some groovin' tunes as well.
@Renegade466isback Sorry about that comment; that last one was directed toward thunkawoo; regardless, I totally agree! This next game is kind of an aquired taste, but do you like the music for Subterranea?
Megadrive is the original name used in its native Japan, and also in Europe and South America. North Americans decided the name should be changed to Genesis. Not sure why.
@Renegade466isback There was a copyright issue with the mega drive name in the us,since there was another company that uses the name.so sega decided to recall the console genesis for the us market.
Ugh... That. One. Jump... When I try it without Fushin - BANG! Well around 450 Kunai gone. Round 7 is the round I hate the second-most, with Round 5 being the most-hated by me.
You can't deny that this tune's kick-ass, though. When it comes to Revenge of Shinobi's tunes, I will have trouble counting up tunes I don't like - though there are none. There're just tunes I love and tunes I like.
If you have a spiritual connection to Shinobi, then let me tell you - never dilute your currency for any fool you meet in this life. Keep your essence, and hold your head high and steady.
sigh, now i really want to play my sega, which i lost somewhere..., i have the games, controllers, and cords *cry*
(ps-when you play revenge of shinobi, don't forget to go to the options and put your starting shuriken amount to 00, then wait i think around 1 minute until the 00 becomes an infinite symbol and you'll get infinite shurikens)
Have to say the people that came up with the soundtrack are geniuses, just listening through the songs here, theyre all very fitting for the level they're on. This sounds like a really holiday/by the bay kind of tune.
@TimothyB24 You bet it is awesome, we were old elementary
school buds during buddie class with really long hairs and we use to be video game team players too, also R.J. Williams once helped me get back in action on the arcade games that were made by Capcom weather I need to continue after I lost my last live or lost two matches too. (for example: Street Fighter 2 series)
This song always reminds me of At the Drive In...
I think it's 'cuz they cargo bay in that one song.

@Renegade466isback do they call it the sega megadrive overseas? or is it just another name for the genesis. in the US its the sega genesis.

Megadrive is the original name used in its native Japan, and also in Europe and South America. North Americans decided the name should be changed to Genesis. Not sure why.

@Renegade466isback It was named the Genesis in North America as Sega couldn't secure the megadrive name in that region.

@Renegade466isback I think it was because it was the beginning, or Genesis, of video gaming's 16-bit era.

So they don't get sued. I think there was another device named megadrive. Not a gaming device of course but still IT related.

in our minds. We were best friends back in 1990-1993 when were just kids.
