  • This is a PERFECT song from THE PERFECT band on a PERFECT ALBUM....RADIOHEAD can do no wrong....ever

  • Can we please end the argument of Radiohead v. Muse? Radiohead came before Muse, releasing 3 studio albums (Pablo Honey, The Bends, and OK Computer) before Muse's debut album. Thus, RH is a precursor to Muse, and it can be assumed that RH was either a direct or indirect influence on the band. Ever wonder why RH fans don't spam Muse videos with argumentative comments? It's because we're too busy listening to quality music.

  • this albom reminds me muse : D just beacouse sometime muse sounds like radiohead and radiohead sounds like muse :D

  • @naggipainting That doesn't make any sense. Radiohead never sounded like Muse (simply because they pre-date them) but Muse does sound like Radiohead.

  • this albums reminds me of david firths animation, dont ask why though.

  • I just don't understand why all the comments on this song are about some stupid comment and not how great this song is.

  • @ClockStriking13 I'll rectify this now. Planet Telex is a great, hypnotic song whose lyrics let predate the brilliance of the texts in OK Computer (1997)!

  • @ClockStriking13 Right on. It's actually my favourite Radiohead track, which is a HUGE statement. I don't claim it to be the most inventive, impressive or incredible song they've ever written. But the first time I played The Bends album, and heard this opening song... wow. I just love the song, everything about it. I loved it the moment I heard that cool 'reverberating piano' riff throughout the song, and the guitar, and the lyrics - which are great. It's a seriously underrated RH song.

  • Schizima said "god hates steve jobs actually"

    There, happy to help. :)

  • Schizima...repost that shit so every1 can see !

  • Okay, looking at Schizima's user page only makes things worse! "How to Angrily Draw a Turkey" wtf?!

  • @joho0 I know! Looking at it made me feel violated...

  • What?

    What did Schizima say?

Fuck now I have to look for that...

  • the best album of all time.

  • This song was the start of when Radiohead went from just a good band to a great band.

  • And now the quest for Schizma's comment begins!

  • Comment removed

  • @fungusuarus It wasn't even that awkward. Also, lrn2ctrl+F!

  • the intro is so amazing

  • in my opinion, the best song from The Bends. one of my all-time favourites by Radiohead.

  • I listen to Radiohead so much I feel as if I know them personally. I know it sounds sad but its true

  • I have every Radiohead album and the more and more I listen to their whole career, I think this song right here might just be the very best.

  • this song is refreshing. i dare anyone to find a song as refreshing as this.

  • this song makes me want to sellotape the whole world back together again and put it back on the dinning room table (as if nothing ever happened), until one day we all actually agree that nothing happened, and someone accidentally knocks the world off the table again.

  • Pablo Honey is better than people realise I think. Go back, listen.

  • I think radiofans argu a lot

  • @SeanneryConnery lol so true!

  • So this is what inspired the ending to 'Letter From God To Man' by Dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip' - aaaahhhh...

  • Radiohead + Drugs = Worst combination ever.

Maybe I need to try LSD or Psilo with it...

    Not weed. Never again.

  • @CRaZYpOpTaRToo

    Why?

    it's great!

  • before radiohead turned to shite.

  • @Sage80 No dude, How dare you said that all after this album are getting worst ?

  • @Sage80 wrong

  • I wonder if Radiohead comes from the Planet Telex.

  • ma chi è che mette 'non mi piace???' ahahhahahahahha!!! I <3 Radiohead :)

  • Stupid top comments.

  • how can anyone say that the bends is better than OK computer

  • @wackyman11 yeah, OK computer is definitely my favorite, although i like the bends.

  • @wackyman11 Because music - especially Radiohead's - is extremely subjective. I can honestly say there's no wrong way to rank Radiohead albums. OK Computer is my personal favourite, but it's ridiculous to not accept that someone just maybe doesn't think it's the best one. Hell, if someone put Pablo Honey or The King Of Limbs above OK Computer, I can't say I'd fully agree with them, but when you have a band as flawless as Radiohead, shit like that happens.

  • @RazrHack this is true, and that was a stupid post, but the King of Limbs as best album, no fan thinks that lol. Although Ok Computer changed alternative music forever, in my opinion of course

  • @wackyman11 Again, there is no wrong way to rank Radiohead albums. I personally think Radiohead have literally done no wrong, including King of Limbs, and I'm sure there is the odd fan that thinks King of Limbs is the best Radiohead album. It happens.

  • @RazrHack man please don't compare Pablo Honey with TKOL, there's a whole career in between, the musicality in TKOL is amazing, and it's philosophy is in another lever.

  • @etejuanete3 At what point did I ever compare any two Radiohead albums? I used those two as examples because I seem to find that most people - including myself - rank them at the bottom of "Radiohead albums - best to worst" style lists.

  • @RazrHack well, maybe if you had told me that 6 months ago, but I don't think most fans rank TKOL as worst any longer. a lot of people started loving it after the live versions... including myself. so sad if you still don't like it.

  • @etejuanete3 Wow, everything I say keeps going in one ear and out the other with you. By me saying that there's no wrong way to rank Radiohead's albums, wouldn't that imply that I love all of them? One of them had to be the "worst" per se, don't you agree?

  • @RazrHack man in you comment you said "I seem to find that most pople rank them at the bottom" and well, maybe you do, and some fans used to think that way too, but they changed their mind. If I asked someone for his/her personal list 9 months ago, TKOL might have been at the bottom along with PH, but most of those fans have now a deeper appreciation of it NOW. of course there has to be a "worst" in the list, but I don't think they have one bad album. you can even find some great stuff in PH

  • @etejuanete3 Once AGAIN, in one ear and out the other. To clarify my views on Radiohead's music, RADIOHEAD HAVE NEVER RELEASED A BAD SONG. I love every single second of all 6 hours and 15 minutes of Radiohead's discography, and while there are certain albums and songs that are better than others, they are all amazing. And while people may have a higher appreciation for TKoL now, every single list I've seen that ranks Radiohead's albums places it in 6th or 7th place.

  • @RazrHack MAN CHILL OUT!!!! BREATH PLEASE!!!! I NEVER DISAGREED WITH YOU!!! AND STOP THE "in one ear and out the other" is starting to sicken me. now pay attention: I never said you didn't enjoy any album, I was telling you the perception I think people have of TKOL now. ANd if you look at my comment you'll find the words "of course there has to be a "worst" in the list" . OK?? WE'RE GOOD?? fine

  • Definitely better than Ok Computer but music is like Art.. ... blah etc blah :P

  • @julianuknow I agree. OK Computer was good for its time, as was Kid A. But this one proved that they could rock out and still not sound like every other band that was out.

  • Such a great album, dare I say it even better than Ok Computer.

  • @slowfuse mine too, lol.

  • @slowfuse

    F you.

  • @slowfuse Tee hee

  • @slowfuse The hell? Said to intentionally cause hate and yet ANOTHER fucking Radiohead > Muse argument or do you actually believe this is Muse?

  • @TheTazMonkey ITs best just to ignore those idiots .... dont get me wrong i love both bands but idiots do that just to piss people off.

  • @slowfuse i loaordaeraraldooorldloorldd'd

  • fucking love scroopius pip

  • Yeah, it does kinda sound like Todd Rundgren's "International Feel", wow. Love both musicians!

  • Best Radiohead album in my opinion :)

  • @D0ST03VSKY Mine too

  • @rkobiggestfan7 Not many people will agree with us. I have heard it from most Radiohead fans that Ok Computer is superior (or even Kid A) but I honestly think The Bends captured them at their very best. It was raw yet mellow and the songs are just so good! It lacks the 'conceptual' appeal, but to me that is irrelevant, when The Bends came out, it was such an amazing, era-defining moment for me.

  • Best song on the album right here

  • This album is better than OK Computer F A C T

  • @j1mf1eld Opinion!

  • @j1mf1eld yea! thats true. I love every single song of The Bends

  • oh right I found 1 Radiohead song me likes :)

  • Now this is how you make songs while intoxicated! It makes me feel alive. Thank you Radiohead.

  • I feel like this song hinted OK Computer.

  • The band wanted use the name 'Planet Brass-Rubbing' but the church wouldn't let 'em! :)

  • the bends>ok computer

  • @zoooooopopo can people stop comparing radiohead albums, it's all good , and anyone who thinks not is not a true fan of radiohead

  • @legodatabase nah comparing is natural for a fan

  • Aw yeah

  • sorry about those 10 people...their my neighboors

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • 10 people fuck off! Go back to listening to Rebecca Black you cunts.

This is an outstanding, moving, amazing, beautiful song.

  • that awesome feeling when you want to link an awesome music from your epic favourite band (in my case Radiohead) but don't know which to pick because they are all equally eargasmic in their own way.

  • Simply stunning. This song never fails to send chills up my spine.

  • rocknroll fuck

  • A stunning opening to a brilliant album.

  • What an amazing opening track. It starts with strange rumbling and they cracks open to a delayed piano. I'm thinking "shit, this is ballsy." And then the unstable guitars comes in and the song explodes. After Pablo Honey, to open with this track it's clear that Radiohead is determined and focused. What a powerful metamorphosis. This ever-changing aspect would become the hallmark of every Radiohead effort from this point on.

  • @zachweidenbach I still love Pablo Honey though!!

  • @zachweidenbach Quite possibly the best assessment of Radiohead's work. You are awarded one internet sir.

  • @zachweidenbach You think the 'delayed piano' is ballsy...? I really love the way it sounds, all the instruments sounds great together in this song though.

  • why can't you forget.....

  • Who disliked the video? F***g idiots.

  • @lorz89lorz89 -

I'd honestly like to know what "F***g" means. You do know that each asterisk is supposed to represent one letter, right?

  • @soaper4 i think he was trying to write f*cking but doesn't know how to spell

  • You all fucking suck

  • Thom York can sing while doing a lot of crazy stuff:

    1- he can sing underwater.

2- he can sing while fucking Lady GAGA.

3- he can sing when he is sleeping.

4- he can sing while he is taking a shit on POP and RAP music.

    thums up for Thom.

  • @MrColdheadRadioplay Nice little thumbs up attempt.

  • Comment removed

  • I can barely paraphrase works when even drunk

  • their second good song and certainly not their last

  • Do we all comment on YouTube when drunk or is it just me? Great tune.

  • A Letter From God Sent Me Here

  • So cool how Radiohead went from a mediocre album like Pablo honey to a masterpiece like the Bends

  • @amberlover678

    couldnt be said any better

  • @amberlover678 Pablo Honey was a bit better than mediocre, I think.

  • @Flangerdaddy

It looks funny "whilst" one is looking at the mannequin.

  • I somehow forget how amazing this album is until I hear it and fall over all over again.

  • god hates steve jobs actually

  • @Schizima ok awkward...

  • @Diabolicnop God hates Bill Gates.

Let's see if I can make lightning strike twice!

  • @Schizima LOL

  • @Schizima You could've at least said God hates Sarah Palin, what a waste

  • @Schizima wtf

  • @Schizima holy shit

  • The 11- are from muse members and coldplay

  • @flashgordonrocks

Strangely enough muse and coldplay both love radiohead...

hmm, maybe oasis? Gallagher seems to have a problem with them.

  • @goverlingaite The Gallaghers seem to be obsessed with Radiohead... even if most of their comments are derogatory. Saying that, Noel has praised them highly a few times.

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else out there consider The Bends to be Radioheads finest work.

  • @vent5 i agree 100 per cent

  • @007mul That is nice to know :)

  • @vent5 absolutely their finest hour! Every tune is epic...Just is my fav, fucking love that album :-)

  • true, RH aren't a "party animal' band, and like every RH release, they were trying to murder their last album. One night came to record at RAK, but the cook called in sick, EMI sent 100 quid for restaurant, they drank lots of wine, got shitfaced, went back to do Killer Cars, but took the drums & made 3 separate loops, Jonny on piano, Ed rhythm & lead, TY laid on his back, snockered, called it Planet Xerox, suits pulled name: Telex! He was drunk, it's true...written &recorded in 6 hours...

  • La mejor banda del mundo actualmente, y punto.

  • @ginosupernova suenan bien :) thank you ^^

  • @cintiaceratiana a vos ♥

  • The beginning always gets me going!

  • This song is best enjoyed eyes closed laying down with headphones.

  • Thom Yorke recorded this shit drunk on the floor. Party hard.

  • @pitchman94 I thought every RH fan knew that?

  • @Flangerdaddy

    Behold! Irony!

  • Reddit brought me here

  • did you know Thom Yorke recorded the vocals while lying on the floor intoxicated. true fact

  • @malibar1 don't you mean carrots ?

  • @malibar1 Today You Learned?

  • @kozimotoable narwhal bacons at midnight?

  • @malibar1 I'm there. Bring the shovel so we can DIGG man. LOLZZz

  • @malibar1 how do you know this is true?

  • @malibar1 I can barely paraphrase words when drunk :<

  • @malibar1 that's how i write my college research papers

  • @malibar1 Yep! in fact the band had just been for a curry and got pretty 'Pissed up' and they went back to the studio and thom was plastered whilst doing this actual take! Not bad for someone lagged up on booze!

  • @malibar1 That is because he is a real ARTIST!

  • Well since Chris Martin has an eternal boner for Radiohead, he may have done it at an unconscience level, if you are a fan of a band, you probably wouldnt want to rip them off and piss them off, I mean its probably influence rather than copying, why rip off a song that many people have heard of, off one of the most famous albums in history without being accused.

  • @antisadism

I that was my first thought. They obviously influenced Coldplay but I just thought it sounded way too similar

  • Coldplay tried to copy this song. I realized this last night. Check out Chinese Sleep Chant by Coldplay and you'll see. It's way too similar for it to be a coincidence.

  • Oh for f^%k sake kick back and get your self a brew bro.

  • Well hi there...Happy Monday!

  • gimme date and time for glastofanny nextweek pleeeeeeeese... :) ... :))

  • i think all the people who are fighting over youtube need to shut the fuck up, and enjoy the music.

  • @TheFourthHouse Done that...

  • @TheFourthHouse how about ignore them...... eh? they're inept 'down there' so thus.. that's their problem.

  • @springloadedchicken I've just noticed how you can go to any song on youtube and there will always be some kind of argument going on... damn you internet!

  • @TheFourthHouse He started it !

    :-)

  • damn people cant even just enjoy the music on a radiohead page...what is the world coming too. if your reading this comment i dont care what nationality you are...haa, figured i throw that in considering thats what "yous" are talking about on a radiohead page. did i mention enjoy the music...?

    ohh ya and im american.

  • Scroobius Pip took me here!

  • Everything is broken, why can't you forget...hm... existential angst ...

This song grabs you by the gut

  • @sorryibrokethetrees i completely agree with you on that one my friend.

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

You're smart. We should go out to coffee some time, bruh.

  • @TheCagedTiger ooooooh :-)

  • @TheCagedTiger That said, you should humble yourself a bit, cause americans NEVER get lyrics, and explain them like a fcking idiot...

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

    But... I'm not American...

    Also, you're a faggot.

  • @TheCagedTiger Oh my god...what are you then, you incredibly basic individual?

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

    Canadian, of course.

    (implying I'm not half swiss)

  • @TheCagedTiger Oh "Canadian" implies not half-Swiss, that makes a lot of sense. How do you know that anyway? If you don't tell me I'll report you and press charges for stalking !

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

...I was just saying I'm half swiss and that you are arguing for no reason.

  • @TheCagedTiger No, you were implying that I'm half Swiss. That's it. I'm reporting you.

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

    Liar. Learn to reading comprehension.

  • @TheCagedTiger You make no sense, now you're messing up your own grammar. You're a nut?! But you've been reported a@@hole!

  • @TheCagedTiger Don't you have anything better to do, I mean you've pi**ed off hundreds of people for bogus reasons, maybe it's time you man up and go to counseling...

  • @sorryibrokethetrees

Every super hero needs his own theme music, bro.

  • this is a tribute to the pixies

  • Did you guys know the beginning is from a Scroobius Pip song?

  • Comment removed

  • @0hurley I would kill to be your friend.

  • "instantly enjoyable"

  • this song is mindblowingly beautiful.

  • pearl jam, foo fighters, red hot chili pepers- their all some of the best modern bands, NONE of them compare to Yorks' magic

  • @Fairorth100 LOL PEARL JAM! It really is true that nobody can dislike Radiohead!!!! Not even people who listen to Pearl Jam lolz.

  • Simply...

    The best band!!!

  • Favorite Radiohead song, ever.

  • Thom was drunk when he sang this yet he's in tune. Wtf?

  • @AFirmKickInThePants

drunk when he wrote the lyrics bro. not when he recorded
