Listeria has traveled to refridgerators and countertops throughout Canada from the infected meat at MapleLeaf. That infection is now in homes industries and institutions, on the very cutting boards of Canadians. MapleLeaf was unable to eradicate the bacterium and had to remove and replace all equipment. The same has not been done for homes hospitals and industry. Ontario and Canada now suffer from untenable levels of listeria in the common environment. Do you eat food in or from Canada?
He contends his 23,000 employees live in a culture of food safety and have an unwavering commitment to keeping your food safe. I allege that is an outright false statement of fact, and I hold documentary proof of such. Maple Leaf does have a propensity for permitting their companies operations to perform with actionable negligence, all in the name of saving a buck, and in this case that buck was at a cost of human life.

Listeria is everywhere, its not like they knew about it and sent the meat out. Maple leaf did an amazing job at cleaning everything up and taking the meat off the shelfs ASAP. Sunrise propane didn't handle there catastrophe nearly as well. They didn't kill anyone but who knows what will happen down the road if the chemicals have an affect on the people. They didn't even clean up, the city had to. I praise Maple Leaf for their efforts to correct this terrible event.
Pft...if you want to get technical...NOTHING is safe with food.. A person can leave SAFE food out to collect bacteria. That is not the bloody point. MY POINT IS>.....when an animal is fed wholesome natural food, and its handled carefully, it is SAFE. Compare that to commercial garbage, being loaded full of anti-biotics, steroids, and never mind the non nutritional food that they are being fed to fatten them up. You ARE what YOU EAT!
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the case concerned. Listeria is a bacteria that can occur in any processing environment. The connection with organic food is totally unappropiate. Besides, if you want 100% foodsafety, stop eating
You imune system is stronger because you have been exposed to bacteria from your food and ..let me guess..well water. If a person from the city who has been drinking treated water and eating treated food all their lives ate at your home and drank your water they would likely get sick.If they were elderly or had a weakened immune system they may die ,just from eating and drinking what you do ..it happenes on a regular basis across Canada and the USA every year..look it up
are you aware of how many people die each year from eating so called " Organic" food? Road side vegetable stands ,farmer's markets ,Ma and Pa meat and fish stands and roadside food venders? You new age tree hugging "want a be's" jump on the band wagon and buy your so called " Organic" crap at twice the price and you dont even know what poorly handled ,uninspected crap shoot food you are getting...do your homework..organic food is not safer...

He is basically sorry they were caught. If they truly cared..they would not have such garbage meats. Organic is the ONLY safe products out there.

Organic are not safe just b/c they're organic. Proper storage and handling is required for them as well.

I raise my own chickens and cows for meat, and have chickens for eggs as well, so much better and cheaper than store.
