  • I just cleaned my chain with a thick Fabric brush, one of those stiff ends ones, and it looks awesome now hahaha

  • the question is HOW OFTEN

  • @wreyoG my bike shop tells me once a month.

  • this might be a stupid question, but, I would like to know if I can use vegetable Oil or butter to lube the bike chain?

  • @marcmody probably not dude. Butter and veg oil i would assume would grab on and accumulate dirt, if anything

  • To get a job in a shop you need to know how to build bikes, overhaul drivetrains and know how to obviously change flats and alot of other basic skills

  • What are some of the more important things to know how to do when thinking of applying as a bike mechanic at a bike shop? Thanks

  • i use white lightning clean ride(relubed every month), ive had a LOT of luck with it. I've found with the T-9 is that it gathers dirt and crap really fast (relubed every week). I put on about 1000 miles a month, and my bike, chain, and gruppo still look and work like new.

  • i use 3 in 1 oil from walmart :)

  • @Dshinskey wd-40 aint a cleaner, its oil for multiple usages , but indeed its not usefull for a bike chain. But if u lack in good oils , u can use it.

  • @Soobeng using cooking oil is the worst thing u can use ~~ , since that oil is to thick , all the dirt will grind inside the bearings and u wont like it @ all ~~ , it also shortens the life-time capicity of the chain.

  • @ Demiorph as an bikemechanic i can tell u that its the sound of the freewheel on the back , so no worries its good. or as we call it a cassette

  • can we use WD-40 ???

  • @kaijiex3 I think so, but GT85 is better since it gets rid of water, or so I'm told.

  • @kaijiex3 No! wd 40 is not a lubricant! it's a cleaner!!!! way to thin to do anything.

  • wtf is with the advertisements?

  • i have an irok ferrara made in japan

  • Nice video. Just i hope that everyone here will choose to use cooked cooking oil instead. I am using it and it works really fine. So don't throw away your oil after fried chicken. keep and and use it. Go green. reuse the oil. it works just fine i promise you.

  • Cooking oil? I like to reuse my KY Jelly. Now that's slick.

  • powerredbairice, KY gel won't cut it. if you asked, that's my answer. but if you're joking. that's a stupid joke. Go green ok. re use your cooking oil.

  • your funny...

  • Haha I was just thinking that.

  • trying to tell us something buddy, it's what you want hey buddy, don't be ashamed, we're all open minded, it's ok, stop hiding it, stop being such wimp.

  • Thanks for the vid. What type of lube would you receommend for mtb?
