Tire blew with no time at all for a savable reaction by the driver. Any driver would have had the same result unless they drove into that corner like a Grandma like all of these expert uTube race car drivers. I have raced the peak a few times, and that corner is off camber anyway, so when the tire blew he was just starting to get on the breaks and immediately shot the car to the left. There wasn't enough time to react once the car turned left. I was sitting right there when it happened. Scarriest wreck I have seen in a long time. Another of my friends says both Conleys are doing really good and are in really good spirits though.

And I'm sure you did much better last time you raced up Pike's Peak, right.

For your information, those are friends of mine in that car and they both broke their backs when they center punched a tree at 70 mph. They also had an invitation to compete in the X-games, which they will miss because of this crash. Thankfully, they are both alive and well, and not paralyzed.
