Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album "Unhinged" which is very inspired by my all time favorite musician Akira Yamaoka and his game soundtrack work. You can stream or download the whole album for free on my youtube channel!
It's weird, Silent Hill has influenced me a lot. I mean, it's all part of facing your guilt and confronting your fears. And it's incredible, the soundtrack, this song, in particular, helped me discover the true workings of my ex, fuck, it's weird to explain. But this song, made a lot of things make sense.
Shame that Team Silent was disbanded. I know "The Room" lacked the atmosphere of it's predecessors, but they could have gone back to the drawing board. The new developers just don't get it.
I think Silent Hill calls out to those for want to be forgiven for something they've forgotten. Silent Hill makes them remember and punishes the person. It firsts gives not a large amount of hope, but worse, a small flicker. Then small flicker finally goes out when you realise they are dead... and its your fault. But the person begins to understand, why on both sides... it helps them move on better.
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new electronic album “Sub-Zero” which is heavily influenced by the world of Silent Hill and the music of Akira Yamaoka. If you're interested you can listen to the full album on my youtube channel, as well as download the album for free!
Using this to add a really creepy effect on my Drama gcse tomorow, during a scene where us playing as ghosts talk.. mwahaha! I love Akira, he's Genius :)
This song is absolutely phenomenal. It's like, i dunno, a lucid dream. Just invades your tired head & i dunno how to explain, wonderful haunting ambiguous track that can still hear long after it's finished playing.
The song just make me feeling like I'm in a dream. And when it's quite and raining outside, I swear if you close your eyes you would believe you were in Silent Hill.
What exactly the title means? "Never forgive me, never forget what i've done" or "Never forgive me, never forget my person"? The second option is really climatic.
Phew, thank Batman I'm not the only one, because I dream of Silent Hill almost every night. Horrific? yes, terrifying? completely, beautiful? without a doubt. One of the most incredible places ever to have graced my screen, and that's including films. The music is so good as well, it just amazes me how well it complements the Silent Hill imagery and lore. They weave together effortlessly, in perfect unison, and I just can't think how it can get better than Silent Hill 2 and 3; I doubt it can.
It's sort of strange but. . .I feel more at home in the world of Silent Hill than I do here; I feel like I belong there. It's just so dream-like and soothing at times, and I see real beauty beneath its horrific exterior. I wish it was a real place; I hope death is like that.
Weird right? I know. . .sorry bout that.
Anyway, this is one of my favourite songs from the game. Awesomely rich and atmospheric, as usual. This series has always had one of the best soundtracks.
@AnsemsApprentice Dude i agree with you so much, even though it scared me sometimes... i feel like i belong there.... beneath the horror is true and pure beauty~
@laharl543 It can be scary, but that's just another reason why I love it. You face your fears and - eventually - embrace them. It all adds to the beauty; Silent Hill is where you'll find a missing part of yourself, I think. Not many games can make me feel that way. I wasn't who I am now before I played it.
I'm glad you agree, makes me feel slightly less mentally ill, :P.
@AnsemsApprentice I know man, i kinda wish that if I can't go to heaven maybe I can go into a dimension of silent hill and experience what it's like to be there.
@AnsemsApprentice i totally agree with you. the world of silent hill is really intricate but so intriguing at the same time... thank you Akira Yamaoka
@Jinchuurikio Yeah, exactly. I mean, the games would have still been good even if Akira Yamaoka hadn't composed the music, but he made it that much more unique. It wasn't your cliched survival horror soundtrack; he was able to mix eery, industrial sounds over simple piano melodies and make it work great. That's no small feat, in my opinion.
I can't wait to hear more of his stuff in future games. I think he's doing Shadows of the Damned right now. Should be good - music-wise, at least :).
@AnsemsApprentice yeah i've been keeping a close eye to shadows of the damned and i watched a trailer with Akira's music (probably) and it sounds a bit to heavy metal in my opinion. well thats because it suits the game's tone better i assume. by all means its not bad but I really enjoy his work from the SH titles better. either way I can't explain exactly how I feel when I listen to this masterpiece (actually u did it for me) but its something out of this world... Sorry for babbling
@AnsemsApprentice omg somebody who actually feels the same way as me! i'm sure theres others but i'm glad you were brave enough to truly speak your mind
@AnsemsApprentice actually I do agree with you, I love silent hill's art, i'ts something that goes beyond human perception... it's like Silent Hill makes real emotions and fears, everything becomes concrete and touchable
I imagine sh more like something that it's always here around us and not only after death, sh is the link between people, their fears, hate, love, passion, sadness... nothing can be forgot, it must be remembered.
I never played the game, but the movie gave me some shorts about how Silent Hill´s world is.
I really like it, its beautiful in a strange way. It´s sad to see how the evil people cant turn something so beautiful and inocent like a child into something disturbing and horrible.
@AnsemsApprentice Those times where you seriously think those "What if..." ...What if this world was unreal? As in... that letter that you find in the hospital(SH2), where the psychiatrist says... "Well, why should we drag him into our reality, if he feels comfortable inside his? " ...what if we all are dragged into this reality, what if...
Surely I hope my death is as beautiful as the music in silent hill, so charming, so soothing, yet so mystical and mysterious.
@AnsemsApprentice nope :3 can i come? i like it quiet. and you cant get much more quiet than a place called silent hill. just gotta avoid the creatures...

i just heard this theme on a show on tv forgot what it was called but i said to myself "this theme sounds so familiar" and i knew it was a silent hill theme
omg....did someone seriously say that a song can't have meaning cuz it doesnt have lyrics?!? BAHAHAHAH.....ohhh *wipes tears from eyes* that's a good one.
listen to some CLASSICAL music? perhaps Davy Jone's by Hans Zimmer if you want true, raw emotion without lyrics. Words mean nothing. True musicians can express themselves without saying a word.
@reddhawkk I actually like no lyrics better. Then you don't get so caught up with the words. It gives it more room for interpretation on your own part.

@reddhawkk I wouldn't say words mean nothing. I mean, look at Bob Dylan. But yes, I feel that music can generally hold more meaning and depth than words.
Akira Yamaoka is the best composer ever...his music has the knack for making you fell what is supposed to be felt while playing the games and watching the movie...Uwe Boll got it right by using Yamaoka as the musical director.
The biggest thing I ask anyone (and of course everyone) to take away from hearing this song is to remember the point of view painstakingly drawn to us all by our experience playing through silent hill and alessa's story the first time, or even the 1.8 millionth time. That within us all is the ability to create our own personal paradise but keep in mind we are also the makers of our own personal hell....... Words to live by..
heh, reading the comments that have so many thumbs up... i dont get why people listen to this song and feel lonely. this song always made me calm. nice to do homework with it in the background
quit being so freaking sentimental, its Good music for an Awesome game , the music was made with no type of meaning , shure its beautiful and mind blowing , but what possible meaning could a song with no lyrics have .
All music has meaning, whether the point blatantly sung or not. Instrumentals are a musician's tribute to that which inspired him/her to write the song. Though they don't physically say what the point is, there always is one.
The nice thing about instrumentals is that they're very open to interpretation, which is what makes them so enjoyable. They can almost always appeal to nearly everyone.
To say a song has no meaning, simply by the lack of lyrics, is a very closed-minded opinion.
Not having a title leaves even more to interpretation. 'Course, the video would also be a lot harder to find, too; so it's doubtful it would get enough traffic to see many peoples' interpretations.
this song feels lonely, like im the only one on the planet which means all the bad things along with all the happy things have faded away. like my time is up and there will be no more of anything it feels like my last few minutes on earth have come to an end and i will nolonger be.
This song is one of the best i have ever heard. I think, in my opinion, that a good horror scary movie must make you feel lonely or scared. or some type of feeling you can't describe. silent hill is one of the few movies that has ever made me feel this loneliness.
it's all in the title. When you hurt somebody and you didn't mean it,it hurts more.because you can't forgive yourself, but you will never forget what you did. the saddest part is when you realized it happened, there's is no way of undoing it,and you will always feel the pain you caused. If you hurt the one you love this is your punishment. you know you never will be forgiven but you pray they will never forget you.
That one sound was used so masterfully. The thing that effects me the most about this song is that otherworldly sound. It's like the emotions are pulsating.
Playing this game on top of my mountain of solitude was never fun. It's a good thing I moved because my mood always changed the weather. So why did it get foggy EVERY time I played this game?! XDD
no offence to anyone but is there really a need for all these deep descriptive comments about how the song feels or sounds like...like pestinha92's comment and reddhawkk's comment?
It serves as an example of the Isolation, the lonliness, the solitude we all feel inside of us, at one time or another. It echoes the lonely within us.
I live in a small college town in west virginia where the supposed if there were a silent hill west virginia, this is it. it's almost always foggy once fall begins I love it here. There's a reason the news silent hill was homecoming "Shepherd" haha all the songs seem to suck you into the game a little deeper than the last I love all of this series so much
What? Come on Aluciel, when has thinking like that helped anybody. Your only alone if you so choose to be. Don't give up! Don't give in! Fight on! There's always a way to break free from from your problems, You just got to be strong enough to find them. I don't know what your problems are, but I care enough about others to help. Aluiciel, don't do anything to rash, Just take a step back and look around you for the answer, its there, I swear it is, I promise it is.
I wish there was something I could say to make you see, I wish that there was something I could do for you. But in truth, no matter what I tell you, not matter what help I offer you, Its you who has to find a way to make it out of the darkiness and into the light, All people like me can do is try light the way. Aluciel I hope your joking, Truely I do, I rather have a person who has sick sense of humour, Then a person who's lost all hope within themselves.
Joven is right, Aluciel, no one is ever alone. Whatever you'e going through, it won't last forever. More than likely, there are thousands of people going through the same thing, all around the world. There are potential friends everywhere, even though some of us have a harder time connecting than others. Never give it up.
If you need someone to talk to, this random internet person is always here.
I'm glad somebody took the time to reply to that sad message. Its good to know there are a few people that care. You have agood soul Soren Talen, Haha. Not that we need to hug or anything, Lol. I wish you and Aluceil all the best, Good Luck to you.
hey, i used to be in the same boat as you. i was in a depression everyday of my life for about 3 years. and no matter how much i wanted to be done with life, i never gave up. after hanging on, i now have the boyfriend i've always wanted and for almost a year now. my point is, never let go because the day after could have been the day your whole life changed for the better.
I also go 3 times and sleep with silent hill and silent hill is incredible love and this song is my favorite

Not having a title leaves even more to interpretation. 'Course, the video would also be a lot harder to find, too; so it's doubtful it would get enough traffic to see many peoples' interpretations.

@217d3 i think u can give to the song the meaning that u like and u even forget the title

this song feels lonely, like im the only one on the planet which means all the bad things along with all the happy things have faded away. like my time is up and there will be no more of anything it feels like my last few minutes on earth have come to an end and i will nolonger be.

This song is one of the best i have ever heard. I think, in my opinion, that a good horror scary movie must make you feel lonely or scared. or some type of feeling you can't describe. silent hill is one of the few movies that has ever made me feel this loneliness.
adriana12995 1 year ago
it's all in the title.

XDD

The song "The Terminal Show" from the SH: Homecoming soundtrack is, essentially, a different version of this song.
The piano in that song plays the same progression as the synth in this song, only it's arpeggiated.

no offence to anyone but is there really a need for all these deep descriptive comments about how the song feels or sounds like...like pestinha92's comment and reddhawkk's comment?
IcyCoolX 1 year ago
@IcyCoolX
People interpret the song in their own different ways. Nothing wrong with that :)
UndeadAngel993 1 year ago
@IcyCoolX why yes. yes there is. see comments are a place to express yourself. you however, don't have to read them if you prefer not to.
sorry i'm a deep thinker. that's what music is for. lol. peace.

It serves as an example of the Isolation, the lonliness, the solitude we all feel inside of us, at one time or another. It echoes the lonely within us.

I think it's funny how serious some of the comments on this video are. That being said, this song really is amazingly beautiful.
TurboBabyPuncher 2 years ago 5
I would figure that they got Konami's permission to play that song, or at least put a note in the credits regarding the song.
That being said, This was actually one of the first songs I learned how to play on the Guitar. Brings back memories.

Aluciel 2 years ago 3
JovenNobel 2 years ago 8
I wish there was something I could say to make you see, I wish that there was something I could do for you. But in truth, no matter what I tell you, not matter what help I offer you, Its you who has to find a way to make it out of the darkiness and into the light, All people like me can do is try light the way. Aluciel I hope your joking, Truely I do, I rather have a person who has sick sense of humour, Then a person who's lost all hope within themselves.
JovenNobel 2 years ago 6
