  • what song did u just played...?

  • half octave? you don't know your basic music theory... but this is still quite informative..

  • ya,really, how DO u bar a string without practically MUTING the sound.........I seem to get that muffled sound ALOT! :'(

  • what is the bar because i think its telling me to put my index finger i there i dont know? :(

  • good lesson. just a tip from one teacher to another. You're using the term octave incorrectly. What you mean to say is semi-tone. An octave is eight full tones away

  • wait are you using an amp

  • Comment removed

  • i really like the way you teach the chords, but the only time i got lost was when you did that practice thing with the d minor chord. how did you do that?

  • thanks for puttin your vid out its the best and most easily understood instructions i've found yet keep puttin them out

  • I have a really hard time with bar chords because, well, my left hand is kind of weak. Can you give me some advice to help gain some strength in my hand to make bar chords easier to play?

  • @KidDeloreanProd for the d minor chord when i play it the high strings (1 and 2) don't play because I am technically muting them but when u played it u could hear it how come? HELP PLEASE!!!

  • the songs you use in the end are great man! First Gloria, and now Wild Thing haha, great thx a lot

  • A bar minor D is the same a a minor D right but without the bar right? Like the finger positions?

  • i have a question.

what is the best guitar pick to use for a beginner ??

  • @mary1548gata No such things as "The Best Guitar Pick" all picks are made from the same material either Plastic, Metal, sometime Thin Cardboard but worst choice but good if you want to get a lot of pick very cheap but expect wasting money so just buy any Plastic Or Metal Picks only.

  • I have trouble baring an entire fret, maybe my fingers are to short? when I bar the fret i have a hard time placing my other fingers correctly, any information that can help me? I will keep practicing.

  • we're same...but i still got the same sound when i try to give more force to my fingers :D

  • I've gotten the hang of it, keep practicing and your fingers will get stronger and you can do it with less effort and your fingers won't feel like there being cut anymore.

  • Cool,After a bout a week of practice on this,it should sound perfect!

  • how do you play wild thing?

i know you said GCD bar chords but is it GCD major bar chords or GCD minor bar chords. and you didnt teach us how to play both D bar chords.

thats all i dont get. for all the other chords, your a really good teacher. this is the best video about chords i have seen on youtube. & its so easy to get. but i cant do it yet.:]

    thank you so much!(:

  • He shows you how to play it directly after. That chord progression after he says, "practice wild thing"... is wild thing.

  • ic ant get that 4:30 song thing probably cuz im using an electric guitar

  • my fingers just won't do it ive been practicing for ages my index finger just aint stronger enough at all

  • why is there a different G major chord on this video than there was on the first one?

  • Hi, one the first video it is an open G major chord and on the second video it is an barr G major chord. You can play it both ways and it will still sound the same.

  • ok should it sound different if you're using an electric guitar? I'm using my dads-without the amp- until I can get an acoustic...so everything sounds weird, am I doing it wrong?

  • could you please make a video of how to tune a guitar manualy please?

  • i cant remember the name of that song at 4:35... what is it?

  • Everlast - What It`s Like

  • Could an index finger injury from years ago be the reason I can't play bar chords well? Because when I play a minor chord like 5-7-7-*5*-5-5, the starred 5 is very difficult to make a sound from.

  • thanks dude!!! Bar chords are pretty tough for beginners!!

  • great video, it helped me so much, but i dont get how to play the whole song in 4:30 ... could someone help me please?

  • yo buddy please please PLEASE put up a tuning tune for C# F# B E G# C# please its really by ear

  • ahh i cant reach lol

  • lol i know right? Me either...and i have long fingers!! LOL

  • D: do we have to bar them?

  • iam with all the others,

Thanks fore your good work dude!

  • Yay! Lesson #2! When's the next one coming? lol

  • ouch. my index fingure is cut into 6 parts.

but you know what they say, no pain, no gain. I will get this! :)

  • its official ur a legend

thanks a lot dude u helped me out

  • whats the name of the song you play the Dm with? I want to look up the tab.

  • my thumbs hurts

  • i think i need to inject steroids in my fingers to play bars theyre killing me man !!

  • bignirmal, don't give upon those pesky bar chords, one day they will come if you practise, I promise. Try playing them on the 5th string when your hand and forearm are in a straight line. And you do not need half the pressure you may think, its a technique that you will work out. If a great ammount of pressure was needed you would not be able to play for long periods at a time, which is not true.

  • thanks for the advice and inspiration bricoak

i shall continue learning and practicing. i was having problems because of my index finger is a little out of shape due to s sport accident lol but thanks again buddy

    cheers

  • Sorry I meant the 5th fret. Your hand and arm are twisted when playing on the 1st fret. I remember the first time I played the 'F' chord properly, I had to have my fingers surgically removed from the fretboard I was so pleased with my little self I wouldn't let go.

  • lol i finally mastered those damn bar chords!

  • am i a weekling? because i cant press hard enought for it to strum nicely....

  • no its normal for beginners. just keep jammin man and your fingers will get stronger. also, if you have one of those squishy stress balls just practice squeezing it like you would the neck of your guitar and youll get em stronger =)

  • what would i do without your lessons?

  • @ Minute 1:20 = It should Sound something like this - PLOP :)

Playing Bar Chords is not impossible - it´s just all about practice, practice, practice. Just keep on playing - and dont get angry.

  • By far the easiest lessons to understand on You Tube. I just started playing today and this made it a lot easier to understand the chords. Thanks.

  • element =] lol

thnx for the lessons man u rock

  • argh i cant bar!!! its impossibe to get all the notes.

  • Neither can I!

  • hey man...im trying to do bar chords and you help me a lot....THANKS SOOO MUCHHH!!! I hope there will be more of this , coming soon :)

  • thank u man. go keeping it! wait for ur next course.

  • thanks man you really helped

  • wats the difference with minor chords and sharp chord? example...g# and Am

  • YOU ARE SO FUCKING GOOD!

it's month since i'm learning from your vids and it realy helps, but you have to put some instruction how to use Tabs or something. It was hard to learn by myself.

  • Man, You are awesome. I have browsed more than 20 videos for beginners, even I found some more videos which are helpful. But I want to rate yours as the best for beginners. You are awesome. But I suggest to take some 1 or 2 classes and start this video....

    Thanks to you and Youtube

  • thank u , you helped me so much , although the barring is too hard .. hope to see more

  • is it supposed to be harder to push the frets down on an older model guitar because i press the barre chord as firmly as i can and it is always muffled?!

  • i h8 the bars i cant press them down all the way

  • keep trying... when I first started I couldnt do it either...but after keeping at it a couple of weeks.. I can do pretty much any bar now... you'll get it!

  • The best BEGINNER instructions & VERY "CLEAR"!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT GOING! Thank You Very MucH =)

  • how do you switch from barre chord to open chord with an echoe effect. open chors naturally have echo but when you take your fingers of barr chord, they mute

  • it's pretty encouraging

  • um.. excuse me but. how do u finger G major?

like middle finger on wut and pinky?

  • wow!!! awesome piece of video for beginners!!!

  • These first two beginner videos are some of the clearest instructions I have ever seen for anything, much less guitar. You repeat as needed. I also like the way you assume we are true beginners, but not that we're stupid.

  • thanks

  • Those bar chords are pretty hard. I have trouble moving my pinky.

  • Great job KidDeloreanProd!

    Clear,

    Slow,

and nice that you repeat what you're doing.

  • man.... please put another video...but with tips of chords chance..or more chords---- or just let me konow..how to play grunge and metal songs please man... need help over here

  • i would say seriously practice power chords if you want to play that type of music. They are the simplest chords to learn. Get your fingers strong and it shouldn't be a problem.

  • thank...i'm getting a lot of pratice... but i have also another problem... i have no idea how to distort my guitar.. my amp isn't helping cuz allway i play a chord... my guitar still play it for a long time.. and i don't know eq my amp to play like..metal sound... soo i don't knowif u could help me..but your help could come really usefull

  • hell yeah... i wanna learn to play "what its like" from everlast...

  • wait i'm confussed..... so there are 2 c major chords one u showed us in ur last vid and the one u showed us in this vid?? and there are 2 g chords???

  • hello there....you are correct, there are two C major chords. One in bar form and one in major form. In the first video, I give you the C Major in the simplest form. Bar chords are a little harder and require you to strengthen your fingers so you can play them easier. In this video, the C Major chord is barred...same with the G. Does that clear up the confusion?

  • Thats right. There is many "voicings" of every chord, not just two. For example, as long as you only play the notes C E and G, its a C major chord. The videos show the basic, easier voicings of these chords.

  • duh theres two...

  • @rockrox444 duh...

  • very good video i recomend anyone to use this if yur starting off

  • so hard .. but so useful...thank you very much for this vedio ... i know it was not easy.. hope to see more

  • finally.............so useful!
