The entire solo is like 19 minutes long. It used to be here but got taken down. If you listen to all of it... Keith is freaking amazing, no argument here! I just don't get why you, guys, compare him to Lord? If you have to turn music into a contest, all these years, Rick Wakeman has been Keith's 'archrival'. But why not just enjoy all of them? Cheers.
emersons left hand alone would say how much better he is than lord.watch a deep purple vid and see how much he uses his left hand other than for smears.lord is an amazing musician but would never be half the musician emerson is
you are joking. As a musician I can tell you there a dimensions between Jon Lord and Keith Emerson. Even Emerson´s left hand is better than Lord´s right hand and that´s the only hand he uses. Jon Lord had the good luck to meet Ritchie when there were hardly any good keyboard players around. In the 70s Ritchie probably would have chosen a better one. And in the end: if you know one JL solo you´ll know them all.
Cool! no i wasnt joking but his particular piece is like he is fighting with organ instead of playing it, but i'd love to listen what they have to offer, i am no musician please recommend some songs you like, they are very famous though!
It's the Hammond organ that reminds you of Jon Lord. When Emerson started this act in the 1960's with the Nice that's all he had, no synthesizers yet. The song is part of Rondo, of the Nice's staples back in the day.
Fucking Baddass. Not exactly fun to listen to, but if I had to choose between seeing Rick Wakeman or Keith Emerson live, I'd definitely go with Kieth. A pure recording on the other hand... a much closer match. Still, fucking brilliant.
Nonsense. Wakeman is fast but there is more to being a good keyboardist than speed. Wakeman is not a good composer on his own and has many other limitations. Emerson has IT ALL.
When did you ever see Wakeman play a Fugue backwards with a B3 organ on top of you?
A. Wasn't reffering to the speed of the performer, just the technique. I personally enjoy Wakeman's style a bit more than Emerson's, but admittedly not by much.
B. I can't say that I ever have seen Wakeman play a fugue backwards with a B3 organ on top of me, but I would imagine that he wouldn't be playing if someone in the audience was being crushed by a big wooden box.
What is the concert? I wanna listen full concert.

It is Bach's "Toccata & Fugue" which might even have influenced Jon Lord ;-)

Ridiculous performer, but I can't honestly say that he's more talented or as much of a virtuoso as Rick Wakemen. Just my personal opinion.
