@AUSM92 Nah those industries actually retained high percentages...... Multi-national mining just did the economic thing and sacked people as you'd expect if you didn't live in a fantasy. Mining companies are no savour for our country. They are treating us exactly the same as the Chinese treat the African miners, no difference.

You keep talking about PNG..... Bougainville don't consider themselves to be PNG people.

Mining the way we allow it to be done today is simply selling off future prosperity for pennies.

@AUSM92 Investment? Mining the country bare for a few pennies in change and a legacy of complete environmental destruction is not a future these people wished to be a part of.

Stuck in 3rd world? Military blockades make getting the latest iphone really easy.........

Same for Australia...... We give away our natural resources for free in exchange for "development". When in reality the investment amounts to a few demountable buildings and a fly-in workforce employed for a few months.
