Dave is awesome. Truly one of the best songwriters in the universe :D

But the bad thing about this video is that on the "Peace Sells" album guitars were tuned a quarter step lower and Dave is tuned here in E standard. You can hear some dissonance, especially at the lead part at the begining.

But, who cares, Dave still seriously kicks ass \m/

This albums is one of my favs. So..far..so..good..so..What... is one bad ass album. Metallica stole kill'em all and most of Ride the Lightening riffs and some lyrics. Shitty thing to do IMO. Megadeth continue to make good music. Metallica's Death Magnetic was alright. Nothing to write home about though.

The point is, Dave can play the solos, but the other guitarist usually plays them. However, if you pick up the "Blood In The Water" DVD, I think Dave plays all the solos on that, including Burnt Ice.

nothing against mustaine, but i highly doubt he can play all the solos. 90% of dave's solos are merely pentatonic based solos. marty friedman, chris poland, shawn drover, etc for the most part branched out using many different techniques like sweeping, i don't think mustaine can do that. his leads are nowhere the level of friedman and the others.

Dave may not look to be the best lead player now a days but when Kerry King played in Megadeth and when Chris Poland wasn't playing the gigs Dave played all the lead stuff no problem, he has had so many good players with him over the years so why should he shadow them when he has said from day one he is the rhythm player.
