  • I watch it EVERY night in germany :D

  • we need it back on as well as DRAGNET & ADAM !12

  • Ha. The one cop vomits! Pussy!

  • MEtvs theme song is COD BO zombies fire sale song

  • Jack Klugman really showed his dramatic range in this show afer the comedy of "Odd Couple."

  • Quincy was a copy-cat, too. The first, and the best show of the genre was "Wojeck", starring John Vernon. Wojeck was a lot grittier than Quincy. It was based on a real person: Dr. Morton Shulman. Check Wikipedia, if you don't believe me. You gotta love Jack Klugman, though. A great character actor, and (no kidding) the best hair piece in the biz.

  • Gotta admit, this show was way ahead of the copycats we see these days, and free to watch too, not some cable crap THAT STILL HAS ADS, what are we paying for that for anyways these days? If you charge for a channel, then get the commercials out, and any show that goes on a for pay channel, make sure that's true or broadcast on free networks.

  • Every member of any CSI show or series owes Klugman a tugjob

  • Quincy ME the father of CSI, but it appears CSI surpased Quincy in popularity which means this show gets forgotton in the modern day and finds it's way in the bargin bucket that is a disgrace to me since this show is far greater than CSI ever will be.

Quincy is like a stubbon government mule which makes him an unique and entertainng character.

  • Quincy=CSI without all the fake blood & body parts!

  • And...it was still CLASSY!!!

  • CSI NY LA MIA...all rapped up in one Q..

  • thumbs up if even though it's years later, you STILL don't wanna know or care to know anything about the contents under the white sheet he flipped back, lol,EVER,lol

  • song makes me smile. haha

  • Legend.

  • No one ever told Quincy to FUCK OFF and do his Coroners job and leave the investigative work to the cops....lol.

  • @fdnyemt5330 One episode showed a close up of his business card which read "Dr. R. Quincy". The "R" was never revealed. Even during the final season when Dr. Emily Hanover (shortly later his wife) asks him what his first name was he wouldn't tell her.

  • This program inspired me to want to go to medical school but I never did go.....instead I went to prison and since have led a fucked up useless loser life in and out of the justice system just wasting my stupid life. It was a good tv program tho!

  • i think it good this do not watch it all the time but it ok . am more in to comedys really

  • sing along in sync with the opening theme song:

HOW COULD UGLY QUINNNNNNCY....SCORRRRRE WITH ALL THEM LAAAAAADIES.. OLD AND WRINKLED BODIEEEE....... HORRIBLE GREY TEEEEEETH....IF THIS WAS IN REAL LIFE...HE COULD ONLY LAY HIS FAT WIFE.... BUT HES QUINCCCCCY....... ON...TEEEEEEEEE VEEEEEEEEE!

  • Does anyone know which episode it was where Monaghan tells Quincy he's been involved with the dead too long and needs to work with the living for awhile? In that episode he fills in for another doctor's practice, helps a woman pregnant with twins, and solves another crime? I've dealt with so much death and sadness in my own family recently, I could use a viewing of this episode.

  • This still comes on early on the morning on the Universal Channel in the UK for those that are interested :)

  • Quincy the only guy who opens bodies and solves crime better than the police.

  • Quincy got all the poon!

  • @pistonstoned what that mean lol

  • @2007belinda All the Chicks.

  • There was one episode that I found truly hilarious: it involved bite marks on victims being examined based on castings of the bite marks. In real life, bite marks leave bruises, not impressions that can be poured up as castings. When the bite marks were shown to be farther apart than the suspect could open his mouth, ummm.... Duh! Skin is flexible! Squeeze the skin, then bite!

  • This was one of my wife's favorite shows from her childhood. But for me, I just never could get past the image of him as Oscar Madison from the television show The Odd Couple. Oh well, still a cool show to see, and ahead of it's time too, as now we are overloaded with CSI shows.

  • @bigdannyg1969 Klugman (is that his name?) was a good actor. I liked in in the 2 or 3 Twilight Zone Episodes. "Pip", 1 about a great pool player and 1 about a trumpet player, and he was also good in 12 Angry Men.

  • @gjc82071 He was also good in "The Odd Couple" as well. Four Twilight Zone episodes.

  • @OldskolFan Yea your right.

    – In Praise of Pip (1963) Max Phillips

    – Death Ship (1963) Capt. Paul Ross

    – A Game of Pool (1961) Jesse Cardiff

    – A Passage for Trumpet (1960)) Joey Crown

I totally forgot about Death Ship and I can't understand why, considering it is 1 of my favorite episodes. I actually have id on DVD! Brain fart I guess? IMO it's 1 of the more "spooky" episodes. Also it's probably 1 of the best from season 4. Actually, all the episodes with Klugman are very good.

  • @bigdannyg1969

and this show was the CSI of it's time, this is the grandfather of the forensic television shows.

  • In the later seasons, after Quincy got married, did the theme still show him with the hot blonde?

    Quince, you devil!

  • These Were The Days.

  • This Quincy theme sounded kind of like Dixie Land Jazz music from New Orleans!

  • What a man!

  • My mother LOVED this show so much as she felt the involved technology and research of Quincy was revolutionary. At the time, it certainly was. Now we see forensic shows all over, like CSI and NCIS. But that is why Quincy was such a great show; people like my mother somehow knew "this was the future". Old sea pirates used to say "Dead men tell no tales!" Thanks to forensic science, that is no longer true! CADAVERS CAN STILL TELL TALES!

  • When I was a kid , I thought oh no ,who the hell watches this !

Today it is on every Sunday Morning , I wouldnt miss it , Fabulous stuff,

    Jack Klugman is fantastic !

  • i see this guy on tv every night at 2-3 am . All he does argue and rage LoL

  • @raptorx2x lol very true but the show rocks

  • Quincy was da bomb and CSI and the others can only try to copy. This guy was the best. I can remember this show starting and instead of going to bed I crawled out of my room and down the hall so I could watch this from around the corner of the living room where our tv was in 1976. I was almost caught, but it was worth it. What a show.

  • i always hum the tune to Quincey as i make love... I'm on my third marriage!

  • Anyone see the episode where Quincy was campaigning againt hardcore punk music and the fatalistic attitude it was giving teenages?

  • @Moistmuscle Funny, I *just* read about that in a book about Punk Rock. I just opened up to a random page and there was that dialogue from Quincy M.E. He said something like if music teaches kids to be suicidal, then its not music at all, its a death cult.

  • Quincy drove a 1974 AMC Matador wagon.

  • Steve Merchant metions this in an old radio show... I must have missed out on a lot of funny shit from the past, coz this is ridiculous!

  • lol Quincy wasn't just a coroner, he was also a detective, a lawyer and an all around good guy haha

  • @fortesqueca:Quincy just did his job description, and little more than that, unlike CSI, who solve the murder and arrest people (which doesn't happen in real life.)

  • it was murrrrrrrrrda

  • @captainbatguano

You are a son of a bitch! Do you know this??? And your father is the brother of your mother!

  • @Nihilistable hahahahah!

  • @fdnyemt5330: "Doctor". :-D

  • I used to watch this all the time when it was on in the afternoons on BBC1. I thought it was "the *most* fascinating sphere of police work", though -- sounds like this one's been edited for some odd reason.

  • The Original CSI!

  • @Marmiteums Dear Blithing idiot. A heavy smoker, Klugman was originally diagnosed with throat cancer in 1974. In 1989, he lost a vocal cord to cancer, but he continued to act on stage and on television. He survived the cancer, though the lost vocal cord has left Klugman with a raspy, scratchy voice.

So, no I don't think he would be smoking anything. And neither should you.

  • My wife loves this show.

  • Quincy was a bad ass!!

  • I REMEMBER THAT QUINCY WAS A REAL PLAYER

  • for the love of god!, what is his LAST name ?

  • #Now it's time for Quincy,

    Quincy's on the telly!

    Best song ever.

  • love it^^

  • The guy who played Quincy's boss, Dr. Astin, looks a lot like the guy who played Gomez on The Addams Family. They must have been separated at birth.

  • Can you post full episodes,or is Y.T. being a butt?

  • Love how all the cops faint during the autopsy.

  • CSI LA,MIA,NY..whos ur daddy?

  • @stevefromPA2 Yeah, but as I was trying to say on another post(singing) the stuff the cops threw up from is now on CSI. Yes, it's not for real, but pretty convincing these days.

  • @stevefromPA2 hell yeah. i and im old enoughf to rember waiting to see the next new episode of quincy yes im an old guy

  • I enjoy Emily Deschannel on Bones but Jack Klugman was COOL on Quicy M.E. !

    Mucus Welby was nice too

    Trapper John M.D. was excellent

  • great show, yet ive never seen an ME become a detective execpt in hollywood..lmao

  • That scene where all the cops faint was PRICELESS!

  • dude as a kid i used to watch reruns of this rockford files columbo the bald guy with the lolipop with my dad

  • @mjjcng8958 same here they would always show those shows after the evening news and before id fall asleep i would watch them...seems like yesterday almost ...shit where'd the time go??

  • @mjjcng8958

The bald guy with the lolipop was Kojak. Telly Savalas played the main character.

  • @BIGBLOCK5022006 thanks for refreshing my mind on him. i remember they made a remake w/ ving ryhmes and it didnt pan out

  • I LOVE this opening music

    .

  • its never on any more here in the UK

  • probably the best medical drama on tv then

  • @TheMashwatcher585 I don't know. You ahd Marcus Welby, M.D., and, of course...EMERGENCY!!!

  • They dont make em like this anymore

  • CSI, circca 1976.

  • I love this show! Especially the one where this physic lady helps solve the murder of teenage girls. It's on R.T.V. all the time at night.

  • One of the catchiest themes ever!

  • I would love to see a rerun of Quincy on RTE

  • Old Yid bastard with a dodgy Irish jig.

  • This Quincy theme sounds kind of like Dixieland style music from New Orleans or something kinda like "When The Saints Go Marching In".

  • Ditto! Especially since Quincy hasn't even been on A&E in 11 years.

  • @klimber1000 You can go to walmart or somewhere and buy the DVD set. I bought 3 of them a few years ago. I need to get more!! I love Quincy!! I haven't watched many of the modern-day versions of the show (CSI, Crossing Jordan, etc) I think i will get the DVD's of those shows as well. You learn A LOT about the human body when watching shows like those. They are sooo damn interesting!

  • The opening scene is classic, where all the policemen puke and faint at the sight of a corpse. I can relate, as recently, i saw the video of an autopsy on Youtube, and started feeling quite queasy in the middle of it!!!! I DO NOT think i could ever work as a crime scene investigator, or even a coroner/forensic pathologist.

  • what a great show, love the shows we grew up on

  • o.o aburre

  • and he gets the girl in the end LOL~~~

  • Jack learned how to flip out at people from Lee J. Cobb, while they were making 12 angry men !that's who he reminds me of!

  • @jsilence418 did you see the scene where he was explaining how to use the switch blade? that was Quincy the early years.

  • I'm soooorrryyy.....

  • this show was great.... this guy made the cops look like idiots EVERY WEEK

  • The most dishonest show in TV history. Half the shows HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POLICE WORK. IN the last seasons 80 precent had nothing to do with police work.

  • This show was cool, even if Speed from The Odd Couple was playing a cop, and Oscar was playing a Coroner.

The show jumped the shark when it began crusading every other week.

  • Quincy was CSI before they knew what CSI was. They didn't need the police to solve crimes. Quincy(and Sam) solved them all.

  • LOL!!!! Too true!!!

  • @blakkjack21 I would have ended Murder, She Wrote with Quincy barging into the scene, proving Angela murdered all thos dinner guests.

This was CSI when CSI was a microscope.

  • @blakkjack21 YES THEY DID! I really liked Quincy. I remember an episode where high school kids were dying cause of the vitamin supplements they were taking (or something like that). Quincy went to the store where they were sold and slapped the shelfs clear just like dominos & left. The store owner called police and then Ashtin had to get Quincy out of jail.

  • @blakkjack21 wow so true he was CSI for sure.

  • I watch this so much that my husband says, oh No not again.

  • I've watched endless times too great show, its also fun spotting peopll like Joan Van Ark and Tyne Daly.

  • "Gentlemen youre about to enter into the fascinating world of forensic science!" (He says all of that NOT with his mouth,...but with his NOSE!)lol

  • @dcorelone

That's one of my favourite episodes!

  • Despite rumors to the contrary, I don't think that any coroner's office in the country answers their phone with the saying "You Stab 'em, We Slab 'em" or "You Call, We Haul, That's All!"

  • He changed the game yesterday. What a goal.

  • Pompeys new ME in disguise!

  • Gee,

    No DNA

    No ALS

    No computer re-enactments

    No Internet data base

How the heck did Quincy ever solve a crime????

    LOL

  • Yeah that's right - good point!! We've certainly come a LONG way since 1976. I remember that year well.

  • He solved it because he was the Klugster!!! LOL!!!!

  • I love you quincy

  • frrrrrrruuunkis!

  • hahaha looks like the oldest royal pain TV series :b

  • i like it when quincy looks like hes feeling a dead body then it turns out to be a alive woman i wonder if quincy is slightly disapointed seein as necrophillia wasnt illeagle in california yet

  • OMG LOL

  • I uesd to watch this on BBC1

  • i used to watch all of these 70s/80s crime shows on bbc1 when i was skipping school, while reading 70s/80s comics i got off the local market! NOSTALGIAAAAAA

  • CSI aint got shit on Quincy. lol

  • @kyler187

    That's a fact Jack.

  • @kyler187 I agree. The older detective shows like Kojak, Quincy, Cannon, etc. are so much better than CSI and its many clones. Television will only get worse.

  • @RetroJenny Yeah but don't forget MacMillan & Wife, Starsky & Hutch, MacLoed, The Rockford Files, and a host of others that didn't quite measure up, even though they too had fans and were popular.

Even this show turned into a crusade every week after a while. Like when the "murder" was the drug company's refusal to fund orphan-drug research etc.

  • @kyler187 I SECOND that.

  • @kyler187

    2 true xx

  • @kyler187 Quicy was WAY better than Caruso's deadpan ass.

  • I agree with you ryoushii. All the shows now are just cheap knock offs of this and all the others from this period. Where these shows relied on the actors to tell the story the shows now rely on slick effects, hot rides and pretty, dysfunctional characters.

  • 0:52 Lovin that jazz

    LOL!

    Jazz hands anyone?

  • Quincy is amazing.

    he's the collest necrophiliac EVER!

see how all the cops puke and faint when he starts shagging the corpse?...obviously, you could show what he was really doin on tv..... Mary whitehouse would have shat herself

  • Hang on... I've got two minutes spare to write a Quincy episode script....

Person dies..... Police say it's natural causes, Quincy says it's murder.

Quincy conducts investigation and proves cops wrong; it is murder!! End of episode.

How did he get away with this for so long???

  • Well man, thats the mystery of "Shit 70's / 80's Tv"

I mean seriously, how did ALL the shows get away with it for so long??!

But Quincy, Quincy is somthing special. He got all these young women too.... and had his own personal Ninja .... and had great theme music AND had a styling leather jacket for an OAP .... AND ....AND......AND.... Well, he was always repeated on BBC1 during the mid 90's when i was skipping school!.... Quincy M.E- KING OF SHIT TV

  • lol

  • lol fuck i cant stop laughing now! lol

  • LOL

    GOOD!

    Thats my job

  • PS you do one hell of a job ! lol

  • Hahaha

    Thanks man

Makes it all worth while !

  • We are talking about Human lives!!!

  • Having such a flat-assed girlfriend is muuurdah!

  • we're just your lousy escape goats!!!

  • I don't care what you say about me. But there's a guuurrrlllll's life at stake. It could end in...mmmuuuurrrrdahhh.

  • She's been chewing Flintstone Chewables for three days!

    LOL Jimcy! XD

  • I loved this show, the great granddaddie of ALL the CSI shows AND Bones.

  • mopsipius

  • Sam, it was murrrr-der!

  • The first CSI show.... one of my faves

  • Yes, one of my favorites as well. When ever I get to stay home, I try to catch it on T.V. on KDOC here in the Valley in California... my mom use to make me watch it with her when I was a kid : )

  • Lynette Mettey was "the girl in the bikini", 'Samual', as she played one of Quincy's girlfriends during the first season..

  • I love Sam, he is so sexy.

  • He should be mmmmmmmuuuurdered

  • Jack is the man!

  • It was muuurdah, Sam!

  • @jfmc632 Jimcy?

  • Something you don't see on TV these days. A powerful seasoned actor with a larger-than-life presence. Jack seemed to give every performance his best.

  • what a cool show this was .

  • I wonder who is the bikini lady who famously opened every episode of the show?

  • He died of a subdural hematoma sam!!!

  • I didn't know Quincy had a grandaughter.

  • What a JOWLY dude....lol

  • this was a great show.

  • early days of CSI

  • Quincy was a great show, and Jack Klugman is one of my favorite actors. This variation of the theme, though, is not my favorite. There is another one with a little more moog sound to it that I'm partial to.

  • Quincy Season 3 is coming out in June !

  • That was funny, seeing all the cops fainting after seeing the cadaver.

  • Did you know Jack Klugman was in 12 Angry Men and Days of Wine and Roses two of my Favorite movies.

  • Loved both movies and we watched Days of Wine and Roses during my alcohol counseling courses in college.

  • spent my university days watching tv shows with my mates instead of actually studying. this was top of the list.

  • thats why the taxpayer stopped funding students.

  • yeh....but they funded me and i had my time.....yee haa!

  • This is where CSI stole the idea for the show. Quincy was the first and original. Great show.

  • I love the way half the cops got sick and the other half passed out on the spot. I always laughed at that part.

  • Where's Jimcy?? It was muuurder

  • I dont like it!.........I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

  • Just one week, I wish they'd listened to him straight away. You;d think they would, given how often he was proved right.

  • Jack Klugman is my dad!

    Q

  • Really ?

Quincy was one of my favorite shows in TV, here en Mexico in 70s and 80´s
