  • very nice!

  • @s0uR100 thanx my friend...thats 5 months in the pond when this was filmed. they come in, in September back out in May...they actually spend more time indoors than out.

  • Nice pond! I built one with D-I-Y waterfalls inside the house recently and am I enjoying it. Hope to be able to take a video and post it soon. Keep it up with that "way of life"! Cheers!!!

  • Beautiful fishies! You have several of the same types of Koi that I do, as well as goldfish. You are right, ponding is a way of life! :-)

  • Really cool!

  • man are they ever beautiful. I noticed you have many gold fish in with your koi. Aren't you concerned about them inter breeding? So you have an inside pond for winter, man that is cool. Mine winter over out side in the one and only pond I have. I lost half of them this spring to a pesty blue heron. Now I have a decoy and haven't had any problems sense.

  • @stewartrocks57 thanks for the nice words make sure to move the decoy around avery couple days. if herons fly by and see it in the same spot never moving they will figure it out. and dont haved it out during mating season!!

  • very nice... I have never even thought of bringing my fish inside. We have the temperatures that allow them to stay outside in the winter. They prefer the warmth, but they do great in the cold too (they are carp after all). I do keep my Pleco inside during the colder months, since they cannot survive in the winter temps. Nice to see healthy, happy fish! I am a koi and koi pond addict, without a doubt! Thanks for sharing!

  • @currrlygurrrly ...thank you for your kind words, ponding is aw way of life more than a hobby, i think!! may everyones water stay clear, and their fish still swimmimg

  • That is one way to winter over, keeping them in the basement, look to be enjoying it, great hobby

  • nice setup for the winter, wish i had somthing like that myself !

  • Nice :D

  • thanx again

  • Looks good :)

  • Looks good :)

  • thanx

  • I always wonder how people catch their fish to bring them inside for the winter. How do you catch your fish? We'd like to catch some of ours and can't do it.

Your fish look very well fed :)

    thank you for sharing.

  • i pump the water from the outside pond into the basement pond as the water level drops so does the fish's ability to evade capture.

  • cool pond

  • Nice! You can see that you know your stuff! What filter and pump are you using?

  • thaks mushmush7... i use a terapond 1200 gph pump and i build my own filters this one is a 55 gallon upflow with 2" flush valve at the bottom. this pond is 800 gals. its for wintering.

  • mistype in above posting ..thats a TETRAPOND pump, not terapond.. insructions for this filter build is on the forum listed on my channel page..koiguys 55 gal bio filter in the DIY section

  • Nice clean water you have there. What is the size of your filter?
