I agree with bith amilheim and darryn200, gay has nothing to do with them being a great band, or producing good music, but unfortunately, a large part of our society still has some animocity towards the gay/lesbian/or bi community. yeah i agree. Alot of bands/artists tend to create the same stuff the whole time...I think cause daniel just made the instrumentals..so since he did not create he melody of the vocals nor the lyrics, he problably had more 'time' and inspiration to forucss on the instrumentation and such. Like, if you have to focus on 3 things or just 1 ....then you will probably do one the best, or 3 a little bit less

@BobamusAU You're right it shouldn't even be an issue. It's like saying "I like him even if he's white, or even if he has blue eyes". But sadly, there are small minded people you stopped being fans once he confirmed he was gay. You'd be surprised what some people have the cheek to say to him on the net.

yeah i agree. Alot of bands/artists tend to create the same stuff the whole time...I think cause daniel just made the instrumentals..so since he did not create he melody of the vocals nor the lyrics, he problably had more 'time' and inspiration to forucss on the instrumentation and such. Like, if you have to focus on 3 things or just 1 ....then you will probably do one the best, or 3 a little bit less

@vadennotbaden It wasn't that he claimed to be straight, he hadn't even accepted himself as being gay at this time. He was still actually married to his wife. He used to camp it up on stage a lot all the same. He seemed to tone it down as time went on, ironicly after he had come to terms with being gay.

May be because another important member of the group ( Daniel Jones ) left.
And so, it's no more Savage Garden.
Daniel Jones is doing his own stuff too, but away from the stage. He prefers to compose songs to others.

@WoodstockRogue666 Could be, but usually someone in a musical group owns the trademark or whatever to the group name. If it was Daniel Jones, that would explain some things. Or (just going on a limb here) possibly they wanted to get away from the label that owns their Savage Garden stuff. Not unlikely, given the changes in music in recent years. Kinda like Prince for a while there.
